Who wins? Does the Pack continue to struggle? Does Magnolia pull off the upset of the week? I have heard from my usual reliable sources ($1200 a year) that Lufkin is scrapping the spread and going to the Wing T this week.:eek: Give the defense a lot of rest this game. Seriously I hope game is over with by halftime.

It sounds like you had a great time at Abe!!..but im glad to hear are visiting side Lp fans keep the Nac-town fans company and make it enjoyable for them, you need something like that when it's a blowout and your losing again to your long time "rival" Lp..;)

I honestly don't know if im going to go, Love watching football but going to renfest this weekend and could hit the sack early...think the only way im going is if christopherson or/and hilliard are back and thats mostly to watch them play to see if it makes a difference. Think it will help alot, no miracles but alot, to have them both back.

I think Conroe is excited about seeing Lufkin come into Moorehead in week 10 anyway... they boys are confident.. and after Oak Ridge.. they could be playing for a piece of the district title against the Panthers.. Im glad ive got season tickets for this game
Lufkin's playbook has consisted of 4 basic offensive plays all season long. Conroe won't know what hit them after they open up the rest of the book getting ready for a playoff run. I think everyone will see why the LP coaching staff is what they are. Brilliant!

I think that is silly logic. I have heard that before and yes Lufkin does usually open the play book late in the season and in the playoffs but I think it would help a little to practice in games don't you. Not stuff you just perfect all of the sudden. Case in point the 1st round of the playoffs for LP lately. Usually a tough game lately besides a few years recently.

Seeing Will C on the news tonight just gave me a nice feeling. That boy is for real. If he can get back and work the jinks out. Texas may not know what hit them. Will C is a top 10 back in 5A just to bad he was injured for 6 weeks, but he will still get his offers. If SFA is smat they will jump all over him. He would go over their and START as a ture freshman, and im not bull shittin you.
BTW Will C did say that they plan on making the run all the way. Glad to have him back.

I think Lufkin could run the same plays every game and still win them, it is the athletes on the field that makes the difference. Big and fast, big and fast.

This game with Magnolia and the game next week against Conroe should give us a better idea what to expect from this Panther team in the playoffs. It will also be good to have a meaningful game right before the playoffs. Lufkin and Conroe could be for the district title.

I think Lufkin holds up its end to make the Conroe game for the district trophy - and the Tigers probably do to.
I think "not opening up the playbook" is usually an excuse teams use when they are struggling on offense. And, I guess the double reverse - which hasn't worked in three years - is one of those four plays?
Having said that - I think you may seem some odd sets if Hilliard and Will are fully healthy and back to 100% by Conroe. You gotta get those guys some major touches. If we can get the snap into the qb's hands and he can hand it off - our OL and backs can handle the rest.

With will and hilliard back I actually expect the passing game to improve as well. With the two of them able to fairly consistantly get yards, and both have proven they can, though we have to check what shape will is in first, its going to take alot of pressure off claybon who still seems very nervous on the field. Once he calms down he seems to do fine but he throws some bad passes early on in every game and if its an important play often times it looks like hes buckleing under the pressure. A good running game should go a long way of helping him. Now if we could just get rid of those bad snaps and stop the illegal precedure penalties...

I'm just surprised clisle hasn't started selling shirts that they beat Lufkin this year, I'm sure he already has 3 of those "We Beat Lufkin in a scrimmage shirts" Don't get me wrong I'm from Lufkin and I root for Lufkin no matter what they are my number 1 team, and when we're not playing Longview I'm pulling for them, I have lots of family there, but I have to give them a hard time about that always, that was priceless. Making a shirt because you won a scrimmage. Just had to throw that in there. Go Lobos hook a Horn!

But man I think TreVon is making a statement. Talk about the forgotten star. He has been playing at the level he was hyped up to be these last 3 games. I stilll want more of Will C, but TreVon is really getting it done.

My thoughts exactly. I know some will come on here and say it was only Magnolia, but tonight was the most complete game I have seen Lufkin play this year that includes the OR game.

Mags fought hard all game - and had an ok D - but we just ran it down there throats - you had THREE rb's that wanted to prove a point. Will and Chris said after the game they wanted to make a statement -and Tre'Von is trying to keep his starting spot.

Honestly, why even bring the game up? We're missing a lot of players due to injury, play the WORST game of the season we've played, and are going against a rival team who can always come up and bite someone (remember 03 when LP won like 15-7?).
even though you may be right about the injuries, we had the same thing when we played at Lv and we didn't have some players vs the Woodlands so like some Longview people said when we lost to them...........excuses,it's part of football!

I hope you are not referring to me as being his sparring partner and taking the bait. Wow! Can't some people clarify things without people thinking it is a fight? So he got a little defensive. Not that big of a deal. I think he has been one of the better Longview fans on this forum.

Yeah, the thread title is one thing. The flow of discussion is another. Excuse me for not being at my computer for 12 hours straight. I have, you know, a life. That's true. Who all was injured for your game? I thought a lot of them came back for the game? I remember thinking, "Man, I hope LP has all their players back so when we beat em, we beat em at full strength" and at one point being happy because I saw that a lot of them had returned.
Also, for anyone who went to the game, did Lufkin really bust out the Wing T? If so, that's awesome. Utilize the talent you've got. Outstanding RBs (I remember Hilliard gutting us), a sub-par QB arm, and an explosive OLine.
So did Lufkin Wing it tonight? ;)

Darn. I can only imagine had they brought it out. I guess realistically, it couldn't happen. You can't completely overhaul your offensive system in a week.

Great game by our guys. I am completely amazed at our RBs. WOW! Even Wesley Black ran over some guys, and he is what, pushing about 100 pounds? Awesome!
I can't wait for Saturday. I, of course, made sure I got a ride very early so it is a go! Playing for the title in game 10 just like it should be.

Will C and Josh sanders and a couple more people was out.....but im not making a excuse though I was playing with you Lv was the better team that night and the woodlands played with alot of heart.......but I didnt see any wing-t vs mag..

Yep they played great tonight....but it will be a tough one in Conroe hopefully we can pull it out up there at Moorehead....:cool:

We looked good last night, but we only threw the ball 7 times. Our RB combo was amazing. I know Lewis had 5 carries for 79 yards and 2 TD's. Hilliard had I think 7 for 96 and Will C had quite a few as well, and even the QB had quite a few.
So who will the rockin "L" see in Bi-District and what does the match-up look like.
BTW. Say a little prayer for your Aggies and my boy J Lane cause they are gonne need it. I hope they can pull it out, but highly unlikely.

I wouldn't bring out the Wing T. No team can EVER run out of those kinda formations on Longview's D... Too much speed.
We'll see Dallas White who is 3-6, and will likely finish 3-7. It doesn't look like a matchup at all. Last year we played Adams because Adams won the game with White, but this year White one. So I'm afraid it doesn't look good for them, but we can't overlook anyone.
Yeah, A&M needs all the help we can get. A new coach would be the only thing that could save us.
