Westlake will most likely go division 1 because they are the 2nd biggest school in the district and Austin Bowie (usually a playoff regular) is 0-3 in district, so Westlake will be there almost for sure. Also Cedar Park and McNeil are both 1-2 in 15-5a and McNeil has played Leander and still needs to play pflugerville and Cedar Park still has to play Leander and Pflugerville with a 1-2 record. Stony Point is the 2nd smallest school in our district (yes the stony point that i have made fun of for ages for never winning a game in our district, they just recently broke a 22 game losing streak to our district and suprise htey are 2-1  ). They would own the tie breaker against Cedar Park if their was ever a senario with them, and they would own the tie breaker with RR Westwood if their was a senrio with them (those two teams were considere the 4th and 5th best teams in the district in the preseason) and McNeil is also 1-2. The race for 3rd will probably come down to these two teams. If Stony Point makes it that will move Pflugerville to division 1 (they are the 4th smallest school in district) and Leander and Stony Point to D-2. Now hearing that SLC could easily be d-1 and Longview maybe and Westlake teams, this could be a very unusual division 1 bracket. Very stacked, but very unusual. It would look like the division 2 bracket usually looks and the division 2 bracket would have a few newbies.

You have seen Westlake and know Pville well, who do you think would win this match up?

I'm not trying to sound like a district homer, but the reason we were able to beat Westlake is because there was clearly a differnece in the speed of both teams. We had alot more speed than them. And Pflugerville has ALOT more speed than we do. I think Pflguerville would win by 10 points because they would force a matchup problem for Westlake. Thats just my humble opinion. Why do you ask?

LL3033 -
I will be rooting for McNeil. Not just because of friends in the school district but also for other obvious reasons ;) . Thanks for the analysis....

Do you really think that Stony Point has a good chance to make the playoffs? They haven't played either you or Pflugerville yet. It would seem to me that Georgetown and McNeil might have a better chance.

I am concerned about Westlake in a potential re-match of last year’s bi-district game with Pflugerville. The Westlake coaches indicated that the difference was Pflugerville’s strength and getting beat on the line vs. their speed. Westlake focused on developing their strength over the past year and they have reported significant progress. Although Leander certainly beat them at the point of attack and Austin moved the ball consistently against Westlake last week (although Westlake was missing two key players). It would be a good game but from a selfish standpoint I hope that it plays out differently as I see Westlake matching up well with everyone else (other than Leander) and I would really like to see a Westlake vs. Woodlands game in the second round.

I'm not saying that Stony Point is going to make the playoffs but other than Leander and Pflugerville at 3-0 and Stony Point at 2-1, EVERY other team is 1-2 except for Round Rock who is sitting at 0-3. Your right, Stony Point hasnt played either Leander or Pflugerville, but they have won in convincing fashion against two teams that i thought would compete for that third playoff spot in Cedar Park and RR Westwood. Now they will come across death row the next two weeks since they have Pflugerville on the road (you can go ahead and mark that one down as an L, not just anybody wins at their place) and Leander at their place. But after that if they beat McNeil then i see them making the playoffs. Georgetown still has to play Cedar Park, and McNeil (if i'm not mistaken) and McNeil still has to play Stony Point (whoever wins this game will get in IMO) and Pflugerville. 1-2 although you can't tell who the better team is, it looks like they are sure fire for the playoffs. 3-7 in our district is one big log jam since everybody has the same record. Their will be some huge games. This is all i have to say. I just want the easier route in division 1 whether that be beating pville and just taking it, or Stony Point getting in and Pflugerville takes the division 1 route and we still take the easier route in division 2. But on the other hand, i strongly believe that if Pflugerville gets into Division 1 bracket and has the same route that McNeil had last year, that they will win the region 2 bracket.

If Pflugerville and Westlake hook up in the first round it would be at Pflugerville’s stadium as Westlake won the toss last year and they played at Chaparral stadium.

No you can have playoff games at your home stadium. And were you referring to Pville and Westlake with the battle of the richie rich or The Woodlands and Westlake. Its not like pville is poor or anything but they are far from rich.

That's not necassarily true. Westlake and P'ville flipped for home and home, but P'ville claimed RRISD as their home stadium (or it might have been AC Bible). Regardless, they did not want to play on thier home surface, which was grass at the time. Even though they have field turf now at P'ville, Westlake would not have to agree to play there as it was not the field they flipped for last year. P'ville could only claim the field they flipped for previously.

Home fields does not matter - the outcome would be the same.
Pflugerville has yet to lose a game at the "Palace" (RRISD) in 6 outtings
