I don't hear alot about em but they are ranked pretty high. Whats that potential as far as getting out of their region?

The same thing happen last year, not many noticed until they beat Northshore in the playoffs. This year, Northshore will probably be the only real test for the Region 3 Div1 title. Both these teams face little district challenge and Westfield faces the additional frustration of 22 5a having games cancelled due to huricane Rita. Do these factors help or hurt, will they be rested or rusty?

In the games played, Westfield's offense reminds me of the big play offense that UT displays. Confidence that every few downs they produce a huge gain from one of their multiple weapons. Even on 3 and out, they step off the field with the confidence that the big play will happen on the next posession. The defense adds to that by getting them the ball back quickly or at least being very tough inside the 20.

Westfield is the real deal and one of the state contenders in my opinion.

Going into this year, I think we all knew the offense would be good with so many key guys back like QB Pierre Beasley, RB Terrance Sweeney, WR DeMarcus Conner, WR Michael Ridge, WR JaCorey McGee, etc. The only real question was if the Stangs would be as good on defense.

So far, they are actually performing better at this point than the group last year did. Despite some key losses from last year, they still had guys like DL Orlando Toldson, LB Jamail Randle, DE Josh Ellison, DB Luther Eta and DB Danny McCray back from last year. Nearly every one of those guys was all-district.

Take those good returning players and then surround them with talented newcomers like junior DB-RB Anthony Forker and you've got a scary (for everyone else) mix of talent to throw at people.

The Mustangs have awesome all-around team speed. There aren't many teams around the state that can match up with them in that area. Westfield is cruising into the playoffs, and it'll be interesting to see what the Region 3 bracket looks like after Week 10.

Right now....Westfield, North Shore and Pearland are Division 1 locks. North Shore will play Pearland in round 1 unless either team just has a complete meltdown. Katy also has a chance of going Div. 1 and that should go down to the last week before it's really definitive.

Westfield is legit.

Yeah Westfield is real good. They are almost comparable to the '01 North Shore team, if your talking about team speed and style of play, just to give you an idea. As a matter of fact, when rivals.com made Pierre Beasley a 2 star recruit, I realized the whole site was a joke and changed my membership to scout

Pierce Beasley is not even good because when he played state championship game vs Tyler Lee in San Antonio. He was terrible even though hes not supposed to be playing like crappy in championship game. I am sure hes alittle better now and bigger too. I just think hes not that good but he is ok.

red raider you are wrong. Pierre Beasley is a good solid quarterback. can run and pass this year he has thrown 9 touchdowns and no picks thru 4 games. He leads our offense and is a class act. good smart kid that knows how to play the game.

How am I wrong? did you go to state championship game last year? if not, than you don't know what your talking about... Pierre Beasley sucked vs us.

So Vince Young sucks because he didnt score in the OU game last year? Peyton Manning sucks because he can't beat the Pats in the playoffs? Jason White sucks because of the USC game?

Beasley is one of the state's top 25 QB's. Obviously Matt Stafford, Jevan Snead, Mitch Mustain, Sherrod Harris, and a few others are a cut above the rest, but with his athleticism the sky is the limit. Also, I hate giving you props after saying something so dumb, but your defense last year was insanely good minus the little Woodlands debacle. O wait, they played bad that game, and thats the only game I saw them play, no never mind, Tyler Lee's defense sucked...

i played in the game, without pierre we wouldn't of had a chance to win the game. sure he made some mistakes but one game doesn't determine whether or not he sucks because believe me i've played with him for years, he doesn't suck.

Pierre Beasley is a good quarterback. He's the most dynamic talent at the position in the Houston area in my opinion. The only other player that really compares to him is Jerrod Johnson of Humble. Beasley is more of a natural QB than Johnson though. Johnson is a receiver playing QB.

I thought Beasley was a bright spot in the state championship game. He started slow, but when he settled down he made some big plays to make the game interesting.

The best thing for Beasley is that there isn't much pressure on him to do everything just because he's got so many talented players around him. So, that allows him to relax and just focus on playing an efficient football game.

Compared to what other teams have done to REL's defense this year....I guess he does suck!....kidding. Beasly is the real deal, so are the Mustangs.

I like the comeback, there, westfieldlineman...in reference to what red raider was trying to imply! I think your input is more crucial than ours, considering you ACTUALLY play/played for Spring Westfield. What's the overall mood at Westfield? What are the players saying? Give me some size/athletic factors (linemen size, bench press numbers)...speed numbers(40's)! I'm rooting for you guys to win it all!!!

Just curious.

we have speed and some size on the line but we have alot of skilled players. we are just taking it one game at a time. defense is solid and our offense is fast and well disciplined

I just checked rivals.com.....they're reporting Westfield lost to Baytown Sterling this past week...20-16! Follow link...

There are a lot of things involved in my saying this but I rank Westfield number one in the state. I firmly believe they would beat SLC if they met.
They are beating everyone like they should and holding the opponents to 7 points or less. You have to be good on both sides of the ball.

The reason why I said Beasley sucked last year in State Championship Game is because Tyler Lee defense was one of the best in Texas last year so thats what I was really talking about. I get it now...

Red Raiders sorry to burst yoru bubble but your full of it about Beasley being acrappy qtr back..........The kid is AWESOME i'd rank him as one of the top 5 in the state.........lee had a good defense last year but still the kid was awesome.......also dont say bad things about other players/teams when our team is the one that is SUCKING!

pierre is a real good qb.he displayed that last year against us at the astro dome  he has a lot of athletism and a pretty good arm.

Since seeing Beasley 4 times last year, I was very impressed with his abilities and capabilities. This year he has made progress. Tremendous athlete, reads defenses well and has a nice touch on his passes.

What really impressed me last year was seeing him on the side line late in the championship game going up and down the bench exorting his defense to get the ball back for him and the offense one more time. Shows signs of true leadership in my opinion.

thats good b/c i didn't have time to argue a pointless argument. pierre doesn't suck and he is one of the best QB's in the state. i'd take him over alot of people, but thats b/c im biased b/c he is our quarterback. End of discussion.

and its pretty sad when your the only person that has a negative report about the guy. Cy-falls knows he's good, judson knows that and believe me when i say this, the state will know what we are about. One game at a time.

Rivals.com is the worst thing I've ever seen in regards to prep ball. Please use scout.com.... according to rivals Ian Symonette isn't one of Texas' top players, I dont care if he was hurt all last year, hes 6'9 330. Also, its now painfully clear Jamaal and Melton should have been 5-star prospects. All of the 40 times are wrong...they are all like.1-.25 seconds faster than the guy actaully is. Chykie Brown is the only true sub 4.4 in the state at the time, and if you watch him run then hear some kid at your school runs a 4.45 you will go "my ***"...I mean i have a membership at rivals just because you pay for a year but my god they are always wrong about everything, its like Kirk Herbstreit's personal web-site

Westfield just needs to take it one game at a time, one play at a time and they WILL get the job done.DONT GET CAUGHT UP IN DISTRACTIONS! thats how great teams lose it.

No. In one of the box scores they have him completing 9 passes in 5 tries. He's good, but he ain't that good.

LOL...Maybe it's a type-o...I would love to see the offical stats though. I know they are a run first team but according to the box scores his com-att are 6-9,10-12, 5-9?, and 8-11.

No doubt. He's been very, very efficient so far, completing well over 60% of his passes with a high TD-int ratio. He's an excellent HS QB and he's perfect for that offense.

I think he's matured alot.
