Hey Lobo fans....

You know guys enough is enough....We need to quit talking about how good we were last year or why we lost at Homer Bryce or in 1997, it does not make any difference, NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sick and tired of hearing some of our bone headed fans talking about how we are going to do this and do that....let's worry about Rockwall first....they almost beat us last year you know....

Lufkin...fact is they have beaten us several times and though it is a new year, there still is a mental factor...they have a good offense and a great defense...we will see when we see.......

SLC...their offense is by far the best I have ever seen, period...thier D may not be on Lufkin/LV's level (IMHO) they always seem to stop those good teams like Abilene, Lufkin, SV, DR...they get it done when they have to period....

We have a good team, we don't have to try to convince anyone, or try to get them to hand us a trophy before the boys EARN it.....There is no use in even trying...this program gets the respect when it earns it...we are what we are, a solid program that hasn't won the big one since '37, period...

To those of you who like to disrepect us or taunt us, go for it....I was pulled into an argument on here once and won't do it again...you can say that your gonna do this or that to LV, all I can say is do it when the game happens.....

I think that this nationally televised game was the best thing that could of happened to the Lobos, many doubt us more now and the only two weakenesses I see (and no I am not telling) will be corrected...


As for me, I have been watching LV since I was 9 years old and I am a season ticket holder...This is the best LV team I have seen in the 20 years I have watched...What they do with it is up to the coaches and the boys who are out there...what will happen this season, only time will tell...but when all of these people who dog us see this team up close, win or lose, they will reckonize how good Longview really is............. :D

I've noticed how bad it's starting to get. We still have a long way to go to get where we want to get and to get the respect we all think that we already deserve.

Just calm down and lets go into the playoffs 10-0 and then worry about each week at a time.

Right on about making excuses about the past. But as far as talking about the future is concerned.....we are fans and I think it is ok to talk about what if all we want. As far as Rockwall is concerned they will get theirs come Friday night.

Kingwolf, it doesn't excite you to think about the possible playoff matchups? We're fans we can discuss things like this and they have no bearing on the outcome whatsoever.....so join in. That's the purpose of this board.

Good post Kingwolf..I know it would be an honor for the Dragons to hook up with your Lobos in the playoffs..because their a good team..but thats a long way off...The Dragons have a lot of football to play & so do your guys. I have'nt seen too many posters knocking Longview, I think your right it's been a few Lobo fans feeling like they are'nt getting the respect they deserve..I still say you've got Lufkin hanging around your neck like an albatross..untill you get by them, you are'nt gonna get the props you deserve..good luck..maybe we'll see ya down the road...

I agree Kingwolf. I was there for the 97 run. That was my Senior year. I had toughed it out through 94 and 95, when we didn't even make the playoffs. I have seen some great games since 1994, and look forward to many more down the road.

This year, I have tried to take it one game at a time, and ignore any comments about "what if". What's the point of talking about something that MAY not happen? I know some fans would condemn me for saying that, but you have to be real. You have to take it one yard, one game at a time. You overlook ANY opponent and they will bite you. Just look at the Rockwall game last year. This year, I hope it doesn't end up like that. But, I am sure Rockwall will be hungry. After their win against Lee, they will be looking to knock another "big dog" off of the porch. Lee may be down this year, but they are still a "big dog" in our district.

Friday is Homecoming for us. Should be a good crowd. Just hope our boys are ready to play and don't let the Homecoming activities distract them. Go out and play the way the Lobos know how to play. Whether we win by one point, or 20 points, a win is a win. That's all that matters. Personal stats don't win games. Whether you put 20 or 200 points on your opponent won't win you a championship if the other team scores more than you.

Good luck to all the teams heading to the playoffs. I hope everyone comes in healthy so we don't hear "well we didn't have this player or that". Last I checked football is a TEAM sport, and whether you lose one player or five you live and die by the TEAM effort, not just one player. The Lobos are a TEAM this year, for the first time in a long time I think. We have no one major standout this year. They are all standouts in their own right. They all play for the team and each other, not just themselves.

Rclisle just about everytime you post you do it with respect....I am referring to those who already have LV beating without breaking a sweat teams we MIGHT see in 6-8 weeks if we take care of business...It is blatant disrespect...

The truth is some of us want it so bad it has already happened in our minds...I already have a good idea about how the playoffs will go as far as who we will potentially face and if we win out, we have the chance to avenge a lot of losses and gain respect....The only thing though is we have to line up and do it....

Favpack, I will give one of those weakness away (the easiest of two to fix). I will not take anything away from Lee and the running ability of thier players, but our missed tackling was more on our part than thiers...Now let me validate that...In the first five games, LV wrapped up immediately, the YACs the past couple of weeks did not exist...The boys are trying to setup for the BIG hit and are easily being made to miss...Although this may not seem like a big deal, if you watched LV the first 5 games you would realize how much of a problem this has become....IMHO.......... :rolleyes:

I like this wolf guy more and more!! Great post and it made perfect sense. And yes i was the one that caused him to get into a argument in here. LOL I was in a smart A mood that night and it was my fault. I am man enough to admit when i am wrong. I am a realist and i will call a Lufkin fan out as quick as i will call a Longview fan out if i feel they are speaking crazy and i expect the same in return. The fact is, this is just hs football but we all love it or we would not be in here discussing it. The game is so pure at this level!!

Guys I'm sorry but the only game I am concerned with is meeting Lufkin again this year. I just don't think we will meet a serious contender until then...if it happens. It may be wrong but I can't help it. I try to take it one game at a time but I can't do it. I admit though with the resurgence of JT I will be cautiously optimistic going into that one. It's all fun and games though, I enjoy all the discussion or I wouldn't be here. I just hate to hear of fights and shootings breaking out in the Dallas area....that should be a wake up call to all who take it a little too seriously.
