We'll see how they do throughout the whole season. The Clovis West game will be a big barometer.

I still think Clovis East is one of the top level teams in Cali. We'll see. 1 pt loss after coming off a big road trip is that big a deal honestly. We'll see how the entire season plays out.

I have a lot of respect for Clovis East. It seems that the interstate games against non-boarding states almost always go to the team playing in their home state. I do not think that is a coincidence. The home team in the far away interstate matchups has a big homefield advantage.

That's what I also stated several times. With High school teams that travel very long distances to play against other State teams. The Home team 95% of the time has a huge advantage.

That's why I even told Steeler that I'll give Clovis East credit. They came to Midland and beat Midland Lee in 2 OT by 1 pt. Easily a toss up game but since Clovis East came to Midland Lee I'll give them 10 extra pts. So, on a neutral field with even crowds Clovis East is probably 10 pts better than Midland Lee on an average Friday night.

The only Caveat is Midland Lee played against Clovis East without their 1st team starting QB. That makes somewhat of a difference.

To Steeler.. Fresno Eidson is (2-3) but put things into perspective:

*Yosemite is (5-0) and beat Clovis East 36-22
*Clovis West is (5-1) and beat C.E. 49-7.(Clovis West lost to DLS 7-0).
*Buchanan is (3-2) and beat C.E. 43-42. toss up game !!

The only loss their that is really impressive for Fresno Eidson is Clovis West..

We'll see how that Clovis West vs Clovis East game turns out in a couple of weeks. Something tells me that its going to be alot closer than the 49-7 score that Clovis West beat Freson Eidson.

TX -Cali -and FLorida football is Better than Ohio in my opinion.

It all keeps going to what I've always said for years and especially since about last April.

There is solid teams around the nation. I've always stated it. I grew up in Texas (played HS football), lived in San Diego & San Clemente Cali ( 4 years), Va Beach, Va for (4 years) and now I live in Miami, Fl ( 2 years) and I've seen alot of High school football throughout the nation. In person and on DVD.

My point is and well always be. If you could take the elite "LEGIT" National 50 High school teams. Almost every year there would be about 15 Texas teams amongst those elite National 50. If you could put a "LEGIT LIST" together.

I've always stated that:

Texas has : 15 Legit National level teams.
Cali has : 7
Fla has : 5
La has : 3
OK : 2
Ark : 2
Ala : 3
Missou : 3
GA : 4
OHio : 5
Wash : 2
VA : 2

and so forth.....

I do strongly believe Texas has about twice as many as any other State. Alot of it comes to the fact that Texas has alot more kids playing High school football than any other State ( 100% known fact) and how High school football is run in Texas.
What also makes Texas especially strong is the amount of quality High school teams. The 2nd tier ( #16-#25) and 3rd tier (#26-#35) arent that far behind the 1st tier. The Texas depth is second to none on the High school level.

Texas is the only State where the #3 team could get challenged by the #20 team on any given Friday night . Any other State is a gimmie blowout game.

The true National #1 High school team would change many times from Cali, Tx , Fla and other States. But, there aint no doubt that a few Texas teams at the end of each season could say they're probably the #1 team in the Nation.

Hey Ridge: Colerain just beat Sycamore last night 62-7. That great Ohio competition isnt it ???!!!

Ohios top 5 would most likely dominate Floridas Top 5. I have 2 good friends from Ohio. One from southern Ohio, and the other from Youngstown. They are football fanatics up there just like alot of Texans. They just dont put as much $$$ into it like Texas does.

Being that your source is from Two guys from Ohio...I see why you have that opinion.

I don't think so though.

I don't think so though.

Ive seen a few games in Florida. My 9th grade HS year I went to Escambia HS in Pensacola.
Florida has a ton of great individual talent. Very few "TEAMS" though.

If you think that Texas has the market cornered on HS football, you need to get out of state more often.

Listen

I personally know a guy who coached and played high school football in Ohio. He now lives and Coaches in TX.
It is his opinion that TX football is better ( I am not making this up either).
The direct quote he gave me was "Ohio has good football, but it does not compare to TX...

I am from Florida and played in Florida and Texas. I do think that Texas has better teams than Florida (not talent).

first off bucahannon sucks this year.yosemite is not even ranked top 80 in the state of cali.also clovis west just got blown out by a good southern section division 5 team.so who cares how close the clovis west vs clovis east game is.the only reason clovis east was undefeated is because they had played a weak *** schedule.yosemite plays nobody.so what you posted doesn't really put nothing into perspective.do you still think clovis east is top 10 team in cali?

We'll see. Do I think Clovis East is a top #10 in Cali. They may very well be. We'll see how the season shakes out over the coarse of the next few weeks. Losing by 1 pt to a team that has two losses to teams that are basically (5-0) isnt bad.

One thing is for 100% certain. We'll never really know because of how the system is in California. You have nothing that even resembles a true State playoff so we wont see really.

We'll see how they do over the next few weeks and see how they do against Clovis West.

I do think Clovis West if a top #5 in California so we'll see. If they finish the season like (8-2) and then play a very tight game with Clovis west (something like 24-17) and go a couple of rounds into the "WEAK CALI PLAYOFFS".

I would most certainly call Clovis East a top #10 in California.

The problem is Midland Lee isnt even a top #35 in Texas. They probably will have 2 more losses in the regular season to (Abilene & Midland) much less the playoffs where they will probably take a 1st round exit.

RockinL.. go read my post from above. I've probably seen and lived in more places then anyone on this board. I've probalby seen more HS football from different areas then ANYONE on this board. ANYONE.

I'll say that Texas has the best quality depth of teams. No State has anywhere near the overall "DEPTH" of talented and quality teams like Texas.

I live in California, Virginia and now Florida. Without question Texas has the beat overall quality.

There are teams across America that could come play with Texas top (#1 -#15).

If you could take the "LEGIT NATIONAL 60" High School teams. Texas on an average year would have about 15 of them. 1/4 of them would be Texas team.

Yea after they beat REL they were even more hyped about playing UT they tottally thought they would blow them out look what happend there if they didn't get it together as fast as they did in the first half This game would have made Texas look alot better than the already do though it was a close game and good all the way to wire
