Lee's defense was pretty good against the run - a lot of pursuit... But they were suspect against the pass. LV FAILED to take advantage of it... LV (QB Lewis) over threw at least three wide open (wide open is an understatement)... How wide? A couple of elephants wide... If Lewis is on his game, this would have likely been a blow out. That's it for the ifs... All in all, a good win on an off (Lewis) night. LV stepped it up in the forth quarter - when it mattered most.

Longview played a good 2nd half. Both of there starting running backs were out the second half.Mark Johnson was out pretty much the whole game.Tyler Lee played a great game and there starting QB returned tonight.I look for Lee to win the rest of there district games.

Mark Johnson was injured last week against North Mesquite but still suited up. Didn't play much, if any at all.
One play turned this entire game around. Tyler Lee's defensive player dropped a sure touchdown on an interception attempt with around 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter. Longview went on to score that same drive to retake the lead, then score again to win 20-12.
Not to mention, the absolutely TERRIBLE coaching job by Mike Owens and the Tyler Lee staff. They basically gave up with 3 minutes to go in the game.

Mark Johnson didn't play at all... Talking about giving up - TL coach should be fired... For the most part it didn't matter though - - LV follwed with consecutive QB sacks for huge losses back to the Lee's four or five yard line. I can only guess that Owens was satisfied with the team effort and was looking to keep LV from either a safety or another TD - - still, go figure. Also LV coaching staff and team made a bad decision by stacking the line with Lee trapped on their own four yard line - when Lee's RB (Da Da) popped through with no back coverage, it was off to the races for a 96 yrd TD run. Talk about the missed interception by Lee (whew!!) - still I almost collapsed  :puke when Lewis kept missing TBrown (17) on those deep routes - you talking about wide open. If he put those in his hands, you and I both know it's a done deal. This guy has some of the best hands I've ever seen on a HS receiver. All in all, a good performance by both teams (hard hitting, esp. Lee, a couple of drops by both teams and at least three wide-open misses by LV). Next!! :D

O no doubt. That was by far Lewis's worst game of the season. But yet we still won. Our passing game was absolutely terrible and we still pulled it out. Way to go 'Bos.

With all the Lview people in here, I figured we need a Tyler perspective. It was definately the best game I have seen Lee play this year. More than anything they played with an intensity yet to be seen. And it wasn't near the blowout some of you make it out to be. Lee left 4 points off the board in an otherwise solid kicking game. Just missed a pick 6. And also had a drive inside the 30 early in the game get called back for penalties.
I thought the play-calling got worse for Lee as the game went on. I also thought Lview's got better. They did not utilize the mobility of their QB enough in the first half. Overall, Lview is definately a very talented team, more so than Lee. I thought it was extremely entertaining to watch and I hope these two teams make 12-5A proud during the playoffs.
Finally, how about the run by SOPHOMORE DaDa Brown and the incredible interception by Sr. LB Trevor Pugh?!!!!!!!

One thing you can count on, when it's LV and Lee, throw the records out the window... Lee's always going to play us hard - - "we've come to expect it". Say what!?! -DaDa Brown is a sophomore? One thing I can say, the kid has guts... He played with reckless abandon... Good game Lee, continue to play like that (with high intensity) especially on defense and you'll go far. You've played a pretty stiff schedule (ET, Abilene, and LV), it seems to be paying off... Now you must learn the value of consistency, team and coaching staff - - go and close district out with wins. Make East Texas proud!

I am not surprised at all by this game. We knew coming in that Lee has played very good teams close......Euless Trinity, Abilene, Waco all barely beat Lee. Lee is gettting healthy and if they can get consistent on offense will be hard to beat in the playoffs. I think their game with Mesquite is going to be a very good one and determine the #2 team.

Even more important than 2nd in district will be getting the top seed in the Div. 1 bracket. I would much rather face Molina over Skyline and a repeat 2nd round matchup against Plano East isn't too appealing either.

yeah.....I hope you guys can find some offense in the next 3 weeks. You have a great D, if you could find some offense you would go far. From what I saw the offense is coming around though

Wide open play calling in the first half. Puckered up in the second half, especially after they took the lead. I guess they didn't want to give the game away on an interception, but Lee can't win playing conservative with LV this year.
Nevertheless, these coaches have shown they usually have a season long vision of where the team needs to end up and I feel good about them making it to the playoffs and, with at little luck, making a good run again.

congrats to Lee on a solid game...good defense, as well as a good offense...i never predicted a blowout, but in all reality, that game could have went either way...i don't feel that bad about our performance...with both of our RBs out, and Lee knowing that we were going to rely on our passing game, i thought we actually did pretty good under pressure and without our strong point of our offense--the running game...i was also impressed with Oliver...he came in and did an outstanding job in a backup role...part of me wouldn't mind seeing him in there with Johnson in a starting role...he is more shifty and hits the holes alot quicker....good luck to Lee the rest of the way...you guys definitely have the potential to make a long run......

Oliver is the better RB but this coaching staff is big on playing upperclassmen. I think Oliver has big play potential moreso than garret. Maybe they will start giving oliver more carriers. I am not sure but Oliver may have a fumble problem....why else would one of the coaches tell him not to fumble when he had to come in for garret on friday.

Congrats to Longview! That was a great game. As mentioned earlier about Lee's play calling in the second half, I totally agree! However, this was the first night back for our QB and he has to get back in a rhythm and going against a defense as fast as Longview’s was a sure recipe for disaster.
Lee is almost healthy for the first time all year and we are finally seeing the benefits of a healthy team. And DeDe Brown is going to be one heck of a tail back!!! That kid has got blazing speed!
Longview’s QB, WOW, that guy really is a strong runner. I wouldn't say he had a bad night! I have watched him play three games now and he faced a pretty good defense that is finally healthy. Lee has played some great passing teams and they had little success as well. He did overthrow a couple of receivers, but he was getting serious pressure having to release sooner than he wanted too, at least from my perspective. This defense is young as well, which is good for us in the next season or two.
Good Luck to the Lobo’s this team is the fastest I have seen in a long time!
