I expected Carroll to gain a little more ground in this poll because of Katy's performance last week. Especially since Katy gained so much ground based on Carroll's performance during the prior three weeks. Not that I truly disagree with the rankings, but I would have expected the Carroll and Katy point totals to be closer than 185 to 194.

Makes sense, but remember, this is a poll done by sportswriters; none of them see all the teams play and so their votes are based on both inertia, reported scores, and on reputation. Some will obviously put more efforts into voting on an informed basis than others and talk to other voters who might have actully seen the involved teams play. Even with that, I wouldn't take issue with the order, yet I agree that one could have anticipated a closer vote between 1 and 2.

and again, Conroe gets a vote.. I guess there is at least 1 person out there that things the Tigers are worthy of some attention.. they are the only Undefeated team in 15-5a

Yeah, and the AP poll is the most conservative as far as team movement goes. Lose and you plunge, win and you stay put or move ahead if someone else loses....

"There have many highlites in Tiger football history, but my favorite was the post game locker room in Brownwood after beating Sundown, and getting to say the Lord's Prayer with the '59 Champs."

Thought it interesting that Sundown is still playing class 'A' after all those years. They're still doing well also.

There pop. has not changed since '69. I had family that played in that game.
