I don't know if you can say Katy is just that good, more like Mayde Creek is just that bad...

I've seen Katy enough this year to know they have a few things in the arsenal I haven't seen from them in at least five years. And if the school scoring records they seem to be setting each week mean anything, they're doing stuff people here have never seen.

I agree KT2000. I think this team has the best speed I've seen in awhile and they are more rounded offensively than any Katy team I've seen since the 80's. :)

Cool it KT. Most people on this board only think there are 6 teams capable of winning state. That would be Lufkin, SLC and Longview.
Oh yeah. The other three are........well......Lufkin, SLC and Longview.

From what I've read and heard (haven't seen any of their games and probably won't until the Thanksgiving weekend playoff game) the Defense seems to be at the same level as it was my Freshman year when the most points it allowed the entire year was 21.

Best I can figure, the Katy STARTING defense has allowed about 5 ppg through 5 games. Overall, Katy D gives about 9.5 ppg.

Superstitious are we? That's ok, I am too especially when it comes to sports. It looks like Division 1 could be loaded this year with Heritage's loss (putting Carroll back in Div. 1 projections) and Alief Taylor's win giving Katy more of a Div. 1 chance.

Well with Elsik losing and Cinco down... you may see Katy in D1 with North Shore and Westfield.

The Prophet has had a change of heart. But first do not mention contending teams without some Euless Trinity and Westfield love. Second, not only CAN Katy beat Southlake, Katy WILL beat Southlake, if they play. No passing offense can go a game without two INTs vs Katy, Katy scores on 80% of drives after turnovers, and the offensive line has finally made me a believer. If Katy goes D1 their hardest games will be North Shore (because of their 251 lb power rushing attack and Katy's small LB's) and Westfield. Since I believe Longview is the best team in the state (for quite some time) I will hope they go D2 (dont know the specs on their odds for that) but the D1 winner comes from region III, very little doubt in my mind. Watch the teams play, don't go by what you hear or your bias and I think you will see the same thing too.

Prophet, don't believe the Longview hype. They aren't one of the top 5 in the state. Believe me, time will show.

Oh man Katy in DI, reminds me of the good old days.

Houston is loaded this year in DI. Don't count out an Eisenhower and Katy match-up this year.

Are you kidding me, Eisenhower would get blown out by katy, we beat yall the first game of the year and wasnt impressed at all, nobody on the team semed to do anything except mister,and alsomister alexander did lay some hits against us

I saw Longview on FoxSportsNet the other day. Vondrell is about as good as they get. What is there not to believe?
