View Full Version : allen is gonna coast by wylie on thier way to an undefeated season
alleneaglefan07

friday night allen takes on wylie. where the eagles look to soar over a very polished pairates team. with the help of dan buckner and the allen o-line this shouldnt look to be a problem. allen advanced to the number 4 team in the state with thier win over richardson burkner in overtime. the pirates whooped the rams while the eagles defense had a very tough time with them. wylie faithful looks to put and end to the dominate eagle offense that keeps terrorizing teams each week. but if they can put up points on this defense that struggles each week they have a good chance at slowing them down. overall i think the eagles are gonna have a very good offensive game and come out with a win. just another walk in the allen backyard.

Go Eagles. Now you will hear a bunch about the Eagle defense. Thats very predictable:puke

Do they have the ability, yes. Can you coast through 9-5A?
Now thats the real question. Yes Allen is very good but giving up that many yards and going into double OT I think is the first example of how they are not perfect. As of right now no one is in a position to "coast" through this district.
AllenEagle06

Cruise through 9-5A? No, there is no cruising through 9-5A. If we come into this game with that kind of mindset, Wylie can and will beat us.

It's great to think that Allen is going to coast through the season, but highly unlikely. 9-5A is tough and we need to take it one game at a time

Two things.
1) How many extremely short fields did the Allen defense have to defend vs what the Carroll D did?
2) Did either of those two have to go to Rockwall and play with a whopping two days of on field prep time? Didn't think so.

To begin, points made were facts brought up for comparitive analysis and thought. Second, one day Allen may beat us and get a tradition of their own but it won't be this year. Giving up 40 plus is unacceptable for any defense but I would ask you to see how many defenses Berkner abused like they did Allens relative to what Rockwall's O has done to defense throughtout the area for the last couple of seasons.

Tonight's game will certainly serve to tell the tale of how the rest of Allen's season is likely to go, given that Wylie didn't have half the trouble with Berkner that Allen did. Another close game (or, yikes, even a loss) and I have real fears that this might not be the Allen Eagle's year. Of course, Wylie had their hotshot RB Christopher Givens playing that night which, I'm sure, helped out tremendously. On paper....*on paper*...this looks like an Allen victory.
Still, something tells me that Wylie is just hungry enough and certainly feisty enough to give Allen a good fight. They're certainly a team that has a lot of tradition and pride (remind me again...what does AHMO mean?). I expect some fireworks, especially in the first half. By the second half, however, the Allen Eagles should be able to pull away and win.

from what i understand, it's not your offense that's a problem---i hear you have no defense what-so-ever...it takes both to win--unless you're playing weak teams.....PS--rankings don't mean squat, either...good luck to you guys the rest of the way......

Thank you for being somewhat objective.
WE don't see much of that around here do we?????
This is why I think this fall will be so much fun to watch.
In the DFW area the "O's" have developed so much faster
than ANY defense can keep up with.
As was the case in y'all's game against Rockwall. The team that can stop the others' "O" EVEN ONCE down the stretch, is the one that wins.(When both teams have high octane "O's".)
This could be a great playoff year. Very interesting!

Well, you are right, Allen will win against Wylie, they lost the number 1 runningback for the year and the defense is very young. I think I saw they only have a handful of senior starters, so do not feel to cocky about beating a team that is so small that next year after aliegnment they may even move down to 3a. Since the freshman school opened. Wylie has a good qb that is only a jr. and he is 6-4 230 lbs, good arm, but still needs time.

Wylie will be 5A again after 2008 realignment. Wylie East HS is considered a feeder school into Wylie HS since it currently only houses freshmen (similar to Allen feeder system). Therefore, enrollment numbers for Wylie will probably increase from 2006 due to growth in the community. If and when WEHS becomes a full 9-12 (school board is currently debating on this), both will probably possess 5A enrollment figures.
