anyone ever attended this Carroll Education Fund Culinary Event that is at the DFW Hyatt tonight? the wife and I got free tickets because she is presenting a silent auction item from Travelocity.

I'm sure it's gonna packed with people way richer than myself and outfits more expensive than my 2 week take home pay

If I've said this 100 times, this will make it 101, but the Southlake folks are very nice people. I'm just a poor old mailman from Garland and I was invited to a tailgate by D-Daddy where I met drgnbkr, DO8, Yankee, and others. They were like you and me, very nice and very cordial. Yes, they have more cash than most of us, but many of them came from that environment, made their fortunes, and carry on with life, not forgetting where they came from....or at least that is my take.

Now, in a more uppercrust environment, they may act a bit different....I don't know.....but at a HS football tailgate.....they were a darn fine bunch to hang around with.

there mostly down to earth people. don't worry. dress simple, classic, make sure your shoes are in good condition and clean.
