6-5A is known for being one of the last rushing districts in 5A football. With great running backs like Demitri Nance (1027 yards on 90 touches) , Irving Nimitz, David Wakins (970 yards on 153 touches), Irving's three year lettermen Jamaal Evans (902 yards on 93 touches in just three games in uniform), Coppells Emmanuel Moody (512 yards on 86 touches), last but certainly not least Dervin Speight, from 5-0 Irving MacArther (471 yards on just 68 touches). All togeither the top 5 running backs in district 6-5A has combined for 3,882 yards on 485 touches.

As for the 6-5A passin game the top are as fallows: Joe Mauro - LD Bell (64-129-6), Matt Percle - Irving Macarthur (55-108-4), and Finally leader of the 5-0 Euless Trinity Trojans (22-37-1).

Combined these three have thrown (141-274-11) and for well over 2300 yards.

The top tw0 wide outs in 6-5A (as i said in at the top of our post our district is mainly a rushing district) are: Adron Tenell from Irving High School, and Jermey Smith from Irving Macarthur, combined they have 948 yards on 59 catchs and 9 touchdowns.

As I've said in previous posts I would take 6-5A all district team over the 5-5A all district team anyday. Oh and for the record:

Euless Trinity vs Southlake.

Rushing: 1715 vs. 1230 ...Advantage Euless Trinity
Passing: 706 vs. 1517....Advantage Southlake
Total: 2421 vs. 2747...Advantage Southlake
Avg yards pg: 484.2 vs 548.2...Advantage Southlake

so on paper, SLC would win the offensive battle, but the key there is, ON PAPER...

(for the record I wrote this at work cause I was extreamly board, and we dont have internet at work so i just typed it up anyway and came home and copied it)

It was our running game that won us the game against Irving. It was non-existant in our past 3 games, but we stepped it up and it got the job done, exactly what we were looking for.

Well said, CC57. That's why our district is one of the toughest in state. Last week when Trinity played Nimitz, I was really impressed with David Watkins - he's big and fast.

Toughest in state is right,

let me get my rankings (as of LAST friday bc other teams have not played yet)

1. Euless Trinity 5-0 (2-0)
2. Irving MacArther 5-0 (2-0)
3. South Grand Prairie (metroplexs best Defense) 5-0 (2-0)
4. Irving High 4-1 (1-1)
5. LD Bell 2-3 (1-1)
6. Irving Nimitz 3-2 (0-2) ---Now 3-3 (0-3)
7. Coppell 1-4 (0-2) --- now 2-4 (1-2)
8. GP 0-5 (0-2)

Now as of last friday we had 5 teams above .500. Coppell has already faced 5 Play-Off Caliber teams and 3 undefeated teams (SLC, Euless Trinity, Irving Macarther)...so yes...the toughest in state...

Euless Trinity is ranked in the states top 10 and Irving Macarther is ranked in the states top 25, and SGP is ranked in the states top 15. lets see, thats three teams in the states top 25...hrm...yeah that pretty good district if you ask me
