well SLC, we had ours today, its INSANE the amount of pee wee football floats alone, let alone the semi truck floats, it kind of made me wish the band had a float, itd be nice to sit down and play, instead of marching and playing..but oh well, it got me thinking, do other schools do that? plus the pep rally, why didnt the crew do anything?? maybe dragoncrew06 can answer that for me..

Actually im in the Student Council class at Lake that designs all of HC from the parade to the dance. We have a little parade that starts at an elementary school down the road from Lake and ends at the JV football stands to the side of the school. Any one can sign up to have a float as long as its run by studetns and involved with the school. The band marches as do the drill team, im not sure where the cheerleaders are in this, i think they march as well. We have our HC court riding around in convertibles that are donated from around the area for the day. I know a year ago we had the principal and another person lead the parade riding on a horse.
Everyone in the parade piles into the JV stands and we have a pep rally for about 30 minutes then we have a bonfire and people can mingle around for a while eating from stands and stuff.
This year will be difficult because theres a ton of construction going on at Lake and the bonfire might be held far away from the JV stands, if we can even use them; constuction is supposed to begin on the JV field soon.
Anyways most schools have something special for HC it just depends on their traditions; ours is usually small though, it would be really cool to get a huge community thing going on like it sounds yall have.

At Coppell we have a Homeing Parade...I remember sitting on of semi as one time for the first time all season...yell to everyone and saying "HEY HEY" to everyone as we passed by them, and waving to everyone and everything, throwing candy at little kids...i meant throwing candy to little kids :p ...
Homecoming is a game every football player looks forward too, its when there emotions reach there peak during the regular season, playing infront of former players, and students. they want to show that there just as good of team as the teams of the past...
It actolly sparks emotion for me thinking back to homecoming
Its crazy..I still remember standing behind the banner, at Cowboy Stadium with a sell out crowd, and them going crazy as we took the field

The week of homecoming we have days where we can wear stuff out of dress code.
We have:
"Hat Day" you can wear any hat to school
"Twin Day" dress the same as some friends
"Nerd Day" dress up like a nerd
i think friday is school spirit day, but im not sure. I can't remember the other stuff. I don't think we have a parade, because parades take money...
We always have a crazy HC pep rally, but then again, all our pep rallies are crazy.
We also have the Homecoming Court: Homecoming Queen and all that good stuff.

i'd like to see 300+ band members try to get on a float. Uh, we didn't do anything b/c we are lazy haha. No, there are reasons but I don't feel I should have to explain them here.

*laughs* the crew got in trouble the crew got in trouble...
ah that reminds me of the 2003 slc coppell game...for the 7-5A district championship...pretty good game if i remember, but nasty nasty...
It was a cold night in early november, very cold...and both crowds were there and it was at capacity at dragon stadium about 15mins to kick off when the Dragons where doing there Senior night thing, our Silver Spurs, took our flag and ran between your seniors and infront of your fans, they then got kicked off the Silver spurs, and then your Crew ran down our spirt line right before the teams took the field, it was crazy...
That night is the way ill always remember Dragon Stadium, in the cold, nasty crowds, Smoke from the smoke machines and tailgaters filled the stadium all game long...Ill never forget it...See ppl in the Dragon Band get hit by hot dogs and other objects...classic...

that was not exactly a nice game. you remember it fondly, and ill admit the emotion and competition on that night was incredible, but man, we hated to see the crew get punished like that, especially when coppell started it. the band's usually pretty mellow, and at least where i was, half of us wanted to go throttle some coppell spirit guys lol thankfully we didn't, but i remember that night as coppell being sore losers and winning at something beside football: being jerks

the band mellow....not since ive been there (im currently a sophomore), every game i think it is, i want to punch some moron, every game i recive a finger..oh well, every game we get the "keep your class" type sayings and stuff, us saxs find a way to turn it into jokes or something, so its fun..this reminds me of a story...we had a soccer game at denton ryan, and as we were getting there they were just getting out of school, and ive NEVER NEVER NEVER seen that many fingers ever, it was out of control, the coach was like dont you guys DO anything to them, this one kid being the goofball he is, mooned one...hahaha hillarious
