Okay...Cedar Hill lost to Arlington Bowie...and Desoto lost to Bryan. Who wins the rivalry game between Cedar Hill and Desoto?

I'm taking CHill to bounce back strong in this one. I don't trust Desoto and won't until they prove they can play to their talent level. Coach McGuire will have his kids ready to go for this one.

If Cedar Hill hadn't lost i would've given the nod to Desoto. I expect Cedar Hill to play with a sense of urgency now.

Since most of our district is in their bi-week - this game is one of the pickems on the LSWC board. So, would you guys please reach a consensus before 7pm Friday night so I can get this pick right? Thank you for your cooperation. :p:D

No blowout here. Desoto wins in overtime. Cedar Hill has been overachieving so far this year. No disrespect intended. I think it is a complement to their heart and coaching. Good luck to both teams and I hope SLC survives to play you in the second season.:)

The hell with records, who has won how many games.
DeSoto is looking to avenge last years 2 loss's to C-Hill. Cedar Hill is Vulnerable to the pass, DeSoto can't pass. This will be a heavy metal, hitting contest between two teams that don't like each other. Yowsa Yowsa,,,this is going to be a great game of serious physical football.
Allen/Plano last week, DeSoto/Cedar this week,,awesome!!!

If I was in town, I would be at THIS GAME. I still think it's a huge game. I believe it's even more important for Cedar Hill to avoid going 0-2 to start district in a tough 8-5A district with upstart Martin still left on the schedule too.

The only time they don't like each other is when they play each other. Most of the kids at these schools grew up together, along with the kids from D'ville. I will root for CH any week but this one.
As for the game...I think DeSoto wins in a high scoring close affair 45-41.

This game could go either way, and honestly, I have no idea who is going to win it. I will go with Cedar Hill in a close contest. Hard to predict a score on this one, but I will give it a try:
CHill 42
Desoto 38

Sadly, this game gets a ONE SENTENCE MENTION in the Star-Telegram today, and isn't even in the Star-Telegram's top 3 games of the week.
Of course, Star-Telegram's 5-5A love affair continues, with the Carroll-Colleyville game once again being hyped up to epic proportions, even though the 8 times the two teams have played its always been a blowout.
Sad.

If Desoto does not find a way to pass in this game effectively, Cedar Hill will kill them.
Bowie was able to move the ball with a passing oriented spread offense, that occasionally would catch Cedar Hill in pass defense sets on a few runs.
But Desoto has not proven that they can pass.
I still think Cedar Hill's run defense is the best in the district. And an average to poor passing game from Desoto is not going to get it done, as Cedar Hill can show 7 and 8 man fronts the whole game an contain Gray. The prescription for beating the Eagles is SIDELINE to SIDELINE defense and man on man receiver coverage.
See the Bryan game tape for what I am talking about.
Cedar Hill will score around 40 pts in this game, and it will simply be a matter if Desoto can score more. We shall see.

TraditionSports,
Thanks, and good job calling the game. I am in New Orleans on business, and I went back and listened to the broadcast last night. You guys did an excellent job calling the game.
Should be a barn burner this week vs Desoto.
Last week, we were fortunate enough that Christian was dead on from 2nd qtr on, and Donnell was outstanding on the kick returns. The game was a bounce or two from going the other way.

Hebron could see SLC first and Cedar Hill in the second round of the D2 playoffs. That's going to San Antonio the hard way.

Looks like it was a great game to watch. Cedar Hill has dug themselves to deep of a hole in 8-5A, and imo, doesn't have a chance to win district now. A. Martin seems to be doing good this year, but I don't see them beating Desoto or A. Bowie. District 8-5A will come down to the final game of the season when Bowie travels to take on Desoto. And honestly, this game will be to close to call. I'm sticking with my original projection from way back in the offseason for this one, Bowie takes it in a close one. However, there are 4 more games to be played before then, and nobody can be overlooked. Good luck Bowie, I'm pulling for you guys. As for Desoto, good win and way to make a statement after a tough loss to Bryan.
What is going on over at the Hill?

I also have it up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=64hlOHf6ntk

Wait a sec, I think you were way off on this game. You said earlier that you thought CH had the best run defense in the district. So how is it that DeSoto gained over 400 yards on the ground and averaged 7.2 yards per carry? I was at the game and I can tell you for a fact that DeSoto was the better team on the field. The only reason the score was as close as it was was because of a fumble that CH recovered with around two minutes to go in the game and converted into a touchdown. DeSoto controlled the ball and the game. I am now definitely looking forward to week 10, since Bowie is 0-9 all-time against DeSoto. And by the way, our pass defense is a whole lot better than Cedar Hill's. :D

Maybe 0-9 all time vs Desoto. But there is always a first time. Just ask Lamar.... who has now suffered 2 defeats in a row after beating Bowie 22 times straight.
I am not scared of Desoto. If Bryan can beat them, Bowie can beat them.
By the way, Bowie is still undefeated FYI.

Yes they are, and yes they can beat DeSoto. At this point, though, they have not done it. If they do, then I will give them all the credit they deserve. I don't think either team is scared of the other. It will be a great game.

really? after one game that could have gone either way; really? congrats, and live in the moment that's what i say; however we will see about "coaching" once the playoffs start. how many state titles does desoto have? how many should they have? how long has bowie and cedar hill been on the map? your talking like desoto has not been doing what they are doing for years now; lets see when the next season starts in november and who is "just going out and playing". your stupid; and giving nothing but motivation for people not to respect whats going on over there. you won a battle lets see who gets further when the wars start and it's do or die.
How bad do you want it?;)

Trainin, I'm trying to have patience with you, unlike everyone else on this board. I didn't say anything about our coaches being better. Everyone knows they are not! THAT is why it is still a mystery that we won the game. We constantly underachieve and lose games that, talent wise, we should win. With the way our kids are coached and the talent level of CH, it just suprised me that we won.
