Hightower hasn't won a game yet. They went 3 rounds deep last year because of the 4th seed scenario on the weak end of the braket. Marshall, Austin, Elkins , and most of 235a will beat Hightower. Clements will probably win the district unless your Buffs can stop them. They're the only team in 235a that I can see beating Clements, but it will be hard to do. Marshall, as we found out, lost to a very good Klein team. Marshall and Clements are the very best in 235a, maybe Elkins, but none will get past the second round:cry

look at how the district is set up.... thats why the can't build powerhouses, they build a new school a year!!!! the last powerhouse was Willowridge in the late 80's and early 90's and late 90's in basketball... Fort Bend probably has the highest concentration of D-1 talent in ALL sports... from football, basketball, baseball, track & field etc..... yet other than Elkins Baseball... no school has yet to build a Dynasty...

but back to Clements and Hightower

hightower has no excuse to lose the way they are doing... they have the most speed in the district, shoot 3 dudes off of their record breaking 4 x 200 team are on the field... don't know how the coaching is going, but it is sad... but doesn't mean that Clements win against Hightower was meaningless...

Marshall is good, but they are having a string of injury problems that i can't really mention... n e way, i saw them play this past week, it was wet, but it still was a sloppy game... Clements i believe has the best chance to make noise in the playoffs this year... i'm always going to root for my little bro's at Marshall but they gotta step it up these next few weeks, and get out of this offensive slump to convince me... Defense is still worth the admission, but though defense wins championship, your offense still has to put some points on the board and manage the clock...

As long as they can avoid Katy in the PLayoff's I think they might do alright. But I think they might have the talent to win 1 playoff game, but 2 is stretching it.

Katy and CyFair are building new schools every year also, so I don't buy that.

Marshall and Hightower are both magnet schools. Football players transfer there in order to be successful. Actually minority football players transfer there, sad to say. All the talent, but the coaches can't harness it. The good coaches, don't want to coach at Marshall or Hightower for fear of losing their job, getting hurt, being threatened, or losing their life. May sound far fetched, but I have heard it from FBISD coaches myself.

I think thats why Clements and Dulles aren't Magnet schools. The rich kids are moved into these districts and have great boosters and decent coaching. Austin, Bush, Elkins, Kempner, Travis, are all pretty well middle class. Willowridge is constanly losing #s and I think a good deal of their athletes transfer to Marshall or Hightower.

Kempner had to sit 8 to 10 players on the bench against Austin this last week. I don't think it would be appropriate for me to go into the details on what they did. But they should have got more than a 1 game suspension IMO. The district, IMO does a great deal of disservice to their student athletes. I think there needs to be a better atmosphere where they can excell. It's not being promoted. There is a BIG ELEPHANT in the LIVING ROOM and they are ignoring it.

Sorry for the rambling, but a lot of the blame does not belong on the Coaches or the Athletes. I think there is a lot wrong with FBISD.

but Cypress "needs" 10 schools... there's no real over-crowding in Fort Bend.
