View Full Version : Projected Division 1 Playoff Brackets-Finalists

The top two D1 teams in the state top 25 rankings from this website are obvious favorites imo, but who do you think has the capabilities to go to the finals? In the past I would jump to say why isn't Judson in there, but I don't see them beating Westfield if it comes to it. Who has the potential?

If you are talking potential, you cannot ignore North Shore. 1st round Pearland @ home. If victorious then Westfield at home this year. Yes they are good but so are the Mustangs from NS. Last years game was a disaster for NS and I give a lot of credit to Westfield. They have size and speed, but coming to GPISD Stadium will not be a gimme. It will be a fight to the end. Cut back the silly mistakes and turnovers and play solid D, NS has as good a chance as anyone. If NS beats Westfield I like there chance against anyone!!!!!!!!!

2005 5A D1 State Championship Forecast - Euless Trinity vs North Shore (I am not yet convinced about Westfield. I want to see them play a few more games)

Westlake to the Semi-Finals, but then they run into the ET buzzsaw.

In Div. 1 out of Reg IV it will either be Judson or Clemens. Westfield or North Shore will be looming on the horizon. If Judson makes it and plays WF, they are gonna have to have the same kind of game that WF had last year against us. If NS makes it....it's Katy bar the doors. Speaking of Katy.........

I am going to say Euless Trinity vs maybe Tyler Lee, Dallas Carter, Garland, Mesquite, or The Woodlands.

and on the other hand of the bracket would be either Spring Westfield, Pearland or North Shore.

If Katy make the DI bracket...............oh my!!

North Shore would run the gauntlet:
1. Pearland
2. Westfield
3. Katy
4. Clemens/Judson
5. E. Trinity

You win out facing that group you would be considered one of the best 5A teams of all-time.

Good choices and, while I think Shore is a good team, and people may think me crazy on this, I'm not convinced of their offense yet. Yeah, they are racking up the points but look who they are playing. Get those same points on Westfield or Pearland and I will be convinced. I just feel they will have a hard time with the stronger teams in the area. The D will be the saving grace for them. IMO I think region 3 will have the D1 champion.

I have seen NS vs the Woodz the last three years. Based on only one game, I don't think this years NS team is as strong as the previous two years. I would have to go with Westfield for the finals unless Katy is D1.
