Little more than a scrimmage IMO.
We have no business playing these guys, nor does any BCS team.

True story - they ask the NW LA coach if Tech would score 100. His reply...
"Well, you can't punt on defense".
Classic.

Tech could've scored 100:
Leach attempted 2 FG's (Made 1) where he'd go for it normally.
The intensity wasn't fully there and Harrell was his least accurate of the season with the WR running some wrong routes.
Tech pulled Harrell, Crabtree, Woods, and Amendola with 8 minutes left in the 3rd quarter.
They were just running the clock in the 4th.
Besides the 2 FG attempts, Tech fumbled a ball on the Demon 5 and had another drive end on downs at the Demon 15.
Besides going to see Crabtree break the Tech single season TD reception record in 5 games (He now has 14, which ties the NCAA Freshman record, with 27 being the overall record), I really wanted to see how the defense would play.
They swarmed to the ball and had a lot more speed than Lyle put out there. They gave up 118 yards with 75 coming on the only Demon TD drive. I liked the 15 yards rushing and the 9 first downs and only 3 in the last 44:52 and 1 in the 2nd half. Tech tackled well and was gang-tackling. They had 12 tackles for loss. I know they were playing a FCS team, but this is the same team that wasn't up to snuff vs. SMU, Rice, UTEP, and OSU. Those teams got way too many yards on the ground vs. Tech and kept converting 3rd downs (Demons were 1-15 on 3rd and 4th downs). I was happy with what the defense did and it looks like they'll pay good dividends. The challenge is a little harder next week vs. Iowa State. Northwestern State was averaging over 400 yards a game coming into the game, so they weren't complete stiffs.
The reason why Tech plays teams like them is because better teams don't want to play in Lubbock. It's just like my t-shirt says, "There's always that one house in each neighborhood that nobody wants to go into!":p

There was a definite difference in the defense. I know the opponent was weak, but they were making more plays. They even batted a few balls down. I credit the extra speed on the DL for those plays.
Leong and Crabtree has TD catches that were things of beauty.

I wouldn't put too much into this victory by Texas Tech...
Northwestern St (2-2) was looking ahead to Nicholls State(3-1) on the TV...That's a huge game down here...I'm sure the Demons didn't show their whole attack/package...
The Texas Tech game was a trap game for Northwestern St...

I'm sure they didn't do everything, but they did try a fake punt.
Tech didn't look great on offense in the 1st half. It was like parts of pretty much all the games this year. The fact that Tech doesn't execute for 60 minutes and still scores 45 every game shows what they can do. I've heard the mantra, "Wait until they play better teams." Guess what? The defenses they play in the Big 12 aren't that great.

If you think our record in Lubbock is bad, check this out: Baylor hasn't won at Kyle since 1984!

1944 was the last time OSU won in Lubbock.

You'd have to go back to the Border Conference for an undisputed title. You'll see one before the end of the decade.

Like, a national one? Or a conference one?
Conference: good probability
National: laughable beyond belief

It's true they won the Border Conference quite a few times. They don't have any national titles.
