I think it's pretty cool. They had a Ruston/Bastrop game on yesterday. Longview-Tyler tomorrow and another game coming on on Friday. TIVO baby!

Watching a bunch of high school kids play ball for un will always be a trillion times more fun than watching the selfishess pros; Im all for broadcasting HS ball.

Ruston/Bastrop? I'm sorry you had to witness that. That must have been like wathing a middle school game..hahahaha...

Once again, my home state does everything it can to embarrass itself on national t.v. :D

Texas High School football is some of the best in the nation. ( If you do not include the Reagan Rattlers) It is great to see these kids on TV. It let's them be seen in other places that do not generally get to see them, and they can record it for a lasting memory.

I feel like a chump now.. I thought the Ruston/Bastrop game was referring to Louisiana teams. We have a Ruston and a Bastrop that play each other.

We have a Bastrop team. I do not know about Ruston. I thought they were referring to another one of those interstate matchups.

Oh. Then it was the "home folks" amusing others..haha.. I dont think Ruston would be playing anybody out of state unless maybe it was Hutto or Taylor. And they (Ruston) would lose to either of those i'm sure.

In 1994, Longview travelled to Ruston to play the Bearcats. The band got shot at after the game....that was an adventure. We had things thrown at us while we were waiting down by the student section to go on for halftime. There was also a letter to the editor about our band "taking too much time" at halftime.

Except for 1995, Longview played Ruston from 1992-2002. We went 4-6 against them in that time.

Ruston is an odd little place. I've never really cared for it. But there are some good parties around Tech if you're into that kind of thing.

Ruston used to play Texas teams alot. Almost every year. But, Ruston used to also be one of the Louisiana powers. Seems like they've fallen on tough times here lately. Like Odessa Permian.

Gonna get my first look at Longview this season tonight on fox sports. I'm excited....can't wait.

I will be flipping back and forth to the Longview game and the Astro game with 4 little boys. Great!! LOL My wife has to go somewhere for a few hours so i got all 4. I probably will be lucky to see a few plays. ;) Great timing dang it!! :mad:

Hopefully the 'Stros want get rained out. Isnt it Clemons vs. Smoltz tonight?

I want to see this RB from Longview that everyone is talking about.
