Let's play a little game. From what I hear all Lake fans are cocky, rich, and very caught up in our "one hit wonder" season.
I've seen Lake watchers but no Lake fans on this site except myself (I'm pretty new so i might be wrong).
Tell me what do you think of Clear Lake HS as a school and as a football program. Don't lie just say whats on your mind, and don't think you can offend me because I've heard it all. Remeber we were #4 on Dave's top 10 list of snobbiest schools in america awhile back.

Don't know much up here in the Dallas area, at least I don't. Nobody I follow plays your region until the finals. I'm learing more about regions 3 and 4 from sites like this, but it's a long process. I had assumed Clear Lake was similar to Katy or Austin Westlake or Northshore, but what do I know. Heck, I'm assuming you're region 3, you could be region 2, then I do look stupid. :D

I'll keep my comments about the school to myself but I will agree with Dave's choice of top ten. Oh, and this has nothing to do with last year's season ender for our team, and all to do with being a Creek alum. As for the football program, I have to admit, they were better than Creek in the 80's (when I went to school). They weren't really on anyone's radar screen until last year but everyone I talked with, including Lake alum, did not expect it to last. I kept hearing, "This is our one and only chance." So we'll see where the season leads them.

Well lmao. They advanced to the semis last season before losing to SV, AFTER beating Katy in that overtime game, when Katy went for two giving the Falcons a 35-34 win if I do remember.
My thoughts are they're obviously down this season. I dont know the history or school or anything like that I just know if your fans are expecting another season like last year and you come in with a 2-3 record...you're in big trouble as a football squad.

I graduated from Pearland a very long time ago and Lake's had this reputation for years. Thats why you'll get bad reactions to some of the Lake smack talk. Lake kicked Pearland around hard during the doormat years in the 80's. Heck just to hear from your sister schools students who have endured 3-21 record (broken against Alvin last night), they have put up with Lake's kicking them around verbally when they were down daily. They had fundraiser car washes with Lake students flashing 0-10 signs while driving by. Pearland is probably on par with Lake as far as living standards now but its been 20 years for most to catch up.
Your dead wrong to say your the only Lake poster. Its because of the Lake threads I signed up and started posting. They went quiet after the 1st loss only to come back after the Lee (worst defense in area) win posting overly zealous and slanted reviews that were far from true.

I'm glad that we weren't the only school that had problems with them. My most vivid memory is one of a Creek student having "CL" engraved into his chest -- not by choice. I don't recall what the retalliation was at that point, but it was fierce.

I will set up and be the bigger man right now and appoligize for some of Lake's students past actions. Please know that most sudents arn't like that, just a few fanatical bad apples. Most of the kids in the stands right now are pretty good kids, there are always a few let's just hope they don't go do something stupid out of frustration or something.

Whhaaaaa????
When did this whole "Creek kid getting the CL engraved in his chest" thing happen?? I have never heard of that! That has GOT to be speculation! AND YES, we are very proud of our school...when we win. Keep in mind last year was our first year to excel in the playoffs, and im not calling us little kids... but seriously, beating katy was better than christmas! To go from a "semi-decent basketball school" to a state semifinalist in football... thats a big deal to us around here and yeah we are gonna get excited.
*Please note that there is absolutely nothing to get excited about as a Lake fan this year*
Anyways, I think we might go 5-5 this year, which, as of right now, sounds pretty damn good. So yeah, wahoo go lake... :(

It happened sometime in the mid-80's. There was a tremedous amount of rivalry going on at the time. And, yes, it happened, I even know the student and saw the result. And trust me, this was not a kid that was into self-inflicted pain. He was a mild-mannered yuppy.
I don't blame everyone for being excited about last year. It was monumental; I would be proud too. But I agree with you about this season. The loss of even one non-replaceable key player can really hurt a team and I don't see them getting very far once out of district. But ya never know, there is a lot of ball between now and then, and not a lot in district to stump them.

Lake people are a bunch of snubs think they are better then everyone else because they have money.
They came into Pearland thinking they were going to beat us at the RIG
keep dreaming Lake.

Obviously rikker doesn't follow High School football very much. At least he should have more respect for Longview. Unfortunately Pearland (rikker) will probably not get to Longview since they will have a tough task getting past North Shore and will be the D1 representative from 24-5A.

They have been a top 10 team for at least 3 years straight now and about the only teams they have lost to in that time span has been Lufkin and Tyler Lee. They were last in the state finals in 97!! They have beaten Lee many times in that same time span. I think they are about even?? They have basically manhandled everybody else they have played in recent history besides a few east texas school's. The one exception was S Garland i believe?? They are very good even though they have not made it to the state semis lately because they have lost to Lufkin in very close games. Most teams would have lost to Lufkin. You do not have to win championships to be considered a power in my opinion even though they did win one back before there was electricity. LOL They are capable of beating anybody anywhere and they could and would put a bad beating on the vast majority of 5a teams this year.
On clearlake, I like the old bone formation but other then that i do not know much about them besides the great run last year?? Do they normally go deep in the playoffs or was last season a fluke year for their program??

Who are the snobbiest schools on that list? I have a few cousins that went to Clear Lake, they have graduated. They did live in nice big houses though... but I didn't know anyone who went there besides them.

Just because you live in a big house and have money dosen't make you automatically snobby. We have our share of snobs but so does everybody, most of us are just people trying to live day to day live everyone else in the USA.
We don't normally go deep in the playoffs and the more I look at last years team the more I realize that all that talent came together at the right time under the right conditons with the right setups and we had a freak random year where we were one of the top teams in the state. This year however is, well they're just flat out bad.

hmm! The memories of Lake vs Creek. :D
Clear Lake has been pretty decent over the years. Every team in CCISD has had its runs in blocks of years. Clear Creek had it run a while back, Clear Lake has had its runs. So has Clear Brook. It was not that long ago Clear Brook was considered as one of the top teams in 4A.
Last time I checked the 24-5A standings, which was this morning, Clear Creek is undefeated in district play :p

Definately nice to see Creek off the slide. Sleeper in the district but the coaches son playing starting QB as a Soph. is extemely suspect. Team is loaded with speed and talent, just need good Coaching. Votes out on this brand new staff.

Talked to Coach Warden this morning, he is pretty estatic on the win last night. I dont think coaching is the problem at Creek. it is more of an execution and mental thing. Like Lake, Ball and Pearland and other teams in the district, Creek has the athletes to compete. You look at the season so far, Creek has been in and had a chance to win in every game except the Kingwood game.

Yes, mental mistakes were made last night especially at QB but that should be expected with a sophmore QB. Score could have been way higher (tons of speed) but play selection was bad in the second half by the OC. Didn't remove QB when he was injured and could hardly walk much less run. Alvin brought everything at him when he was hurt. Being stubborn does not make you a good coach and can make a mild injury worse. Hopefully his son didn't pay the ultimate price when he kept him on the field hurt. Definately something to be excited about since him stopped a 21 game slide.
