I am currently watching this NorthTexas/Troy game on espn. That must be like a community college or something, they all look so little.

It's 7-3 Troy in the 3rd.

UNT is a D1 program that has won conference 4 years in a row. And both of their RB's led the country the past 2 years in rushing.

The Head Coach (Dickey) is a close friend of mine!! They're a second tier team, but when they're at their best they can upset teams like Baylor and Kansas!! Actually they beat Baylor the last 2 years....I think.

Anyhow, UNT is where MEAN JOE GREEN played college ball!!!

Troy State produced 1st round draft pick DeMarcus Ware, who is currently shaping up to produce a possible rookie of the year season for Dallas.

There is often some real talent on the field with some of the tier 2 and tier 3 schools (Like the Sunbelt Conference Schools), it jsut doesn't hit you in the face like when you watch a Florida State, USC, or Texas

Had no idea the history there.. Thanks for tid bits.

It was a good defensive game for sure. NT defense dominated in the 1st half. Completely shut down any kind of passing attack Troy was going to try and have. They were all over the QB.

UNT put up a decent fight. Good for them.

It's crazy because most people say "Well UNT is located in Texas, it should have better players!!"

But the great players play for OU, UT, A&M, Tech and the rest go outside of the state. (ND, FSU, LSU, Virginia Tech, Georgia)

Just about every school in the Big 12(a maybe the SEC) have a few Tx players on their teams.
