Whats yall opinion so far now for the Division 1 and 2 Projected Playoffs now?
I am going to be upset about us not making playoffs and John Tyler making the playoffs but I will be happy for them to make the playoff but not us. It looks like Mesquite is taking over our spot in the Playoff now. Looks like alot of people think Colerain is like the greatest team but there not because just by looking at our team.
Do yall Agree or Disagree about the Playoff Projected for Division 1 and 2? I kind of agree with it including our team. Our school is going to be upset with this because its been 9 years in the row to playoffs.
Oh and do you think people are going back to Tyler John Tyler for reunited football program since our school might not make the playoff but John Tyler will?

I know exactly what you guys are feeling, from experience. I agree with projections, though it may be a little premature, especially since district is just now starting.
Based on the projections I look forward to North Shore vs Westfield in the second round.

As it says on the page..."if the season ended today this is how it would look." Not meant to be the real thing. Just a reflection of right now. Lee is in a pretty big hole right now, but they obviously have the talent to play their way out of it.

So why is Odessa not in D1 - They are 5-0 and if the season finished today would Odessa not be Co-District Champs with Abilene, who would go D2 with Midland at 4-1, or Permian or Cooper, who are also 4-1. I know this purely hypothetical, but if we are working with the facts as they are today, should we not be using the facts correctly. I realize that District 3 play has not yet started.

CLFalcon....they'll have to do what everyone else, in other districts, has to do......beat their opponent for the position....that means they'll have to beat Alvin. (And a few others.)

I wasn't knocking you kt! Hope you didn't take an offense. I actually like the projection. You guys take alot of time and effort in this....that's good.

It's going to take a lot for Lee to come back and make the playoffs.
Going 0-2 to start district is NEVER good when you're wanting to make the playoffs but we'll see.
North Mesquite has to win this week obviously. If they don't, you just cant make the playoffs with a 0-3 district record.
Tyler Lee though is in the same situation. They almost have to win this week. They still have JT and Mesquite to go though and if they dont win this week, they HAVE to win those two games to even think about the playoffs.
Have to admit thought, Im still hoping that Longview vs South Garland game holds up. :D Especially since it would be in the East Texas area this year. 2003 Revenge!!

I dont know if SG would even come close this year...
Part of me wants to play Longview, and the other is screaming NO...
I would love to see Garland and L'View meet again, but Garland needs work and the Lobos are fireing on all cylinders... cant wait to see who plays who first round :D

Im just hoping my boys start getting their act together on Tuesday when we play Brazoswood. If this team can start to live up to its potential and talent we should beat Alvin and if we end up really good and Ball falls off its highhorse maybe even be able to take down Ball.
24-5a rankings when its all said and done
Pearland (6-0) Perfect, close game against Ball
Galveston Ball (5-1) Very good, little sloppy down the strech but still 2nd
Clear Lake (3-3) inconsistent and squeezes into playoffs because they beat Alvin, my gut is just saying an upset loss to creek.
Alvin (3-3) only thing that keeps em out is a Lake victory
Clear Brook (2-4) team built around an ailing Carlos Frank
Clear Creek (2-5) very lucky upset over Lake on turnovers (Gilmer's last game as a starter)
Brazoswood (0-6) maybe next year, might be creek but dosen't matter.

Toonman, in districts that haven't played a game yet...I had to basically guess based on who I think the stronger teams are. That's probably disrespectful of Odessa and what they've done so far, but I'm not ready to drink the Broncho kool-aid just yet. I want to see what they do in crunch time, aka 3-5A play.

yeah i dont agree  with it this is going to be a year when everyone surprises you i can tell you know from just the 26-5a stand point with everyone 1-1 i think were going to see some awsome games and some big hits this year :D

Thats why I wanna play them. They ended our season. We can end their's ;) A Lobo never forgets.

I wouldn't mind playing Garland. I dont think it is going to happen unless you lose to South Garland this week, which would take a complete game from the Colonels and an off night for the Owls. Either way, I like playing the Garland school's in the first round. It's fun getting to play a new team every year in the first round. Be hilarious if we ended up having to play Sachse LMFAO!

There is no way that Alvin takes the 3rd slot in 24-5A. Lake or Brook will destroy them. They absolutely have no speed and the defense can only stop one side. Beating TC and B'wood counts for nothing. They lost to Kingwood and Deer Park and I wouldn't be surprised if Clear Creek beats them tomorrow night. Creek's the sleeper (or spoiler) in this district (17 kids running 4.5's or better...just young) and the starting running back returns this week against Alvin. He has been out since Friendswood.

Right now, Alvin is 1-0 and that's why they're on the bracket. The brackets are based on today. Clear Creek is 0-4 and Clear Brook is 1-4, so I don't see either of them making a serious push for the playoffs at this time. Clear Lake has a chance, but Alvin is one of the teams that managed to hold them last year so they won't be intimidated by the option when the two meet this year.

What angers me is to see how easy the road is for some teams to go deep in the playoffs. For years people pop off about NS not going deep into the playoffs. Well the road is usually not easy and once again this year is no exception. Pearland 1st round and then Westfield. Look at the bracket in Div2 in Region3. ONE really good team and then what? I don't really care about the road being tough for NS because to win it you got to play them sooner or later, but just don't be uninformed if you are one of those that says, oh there they go again losing early in the playoffs.

i agree with these premature playoff brackets, i think though that smithson valleys shuld take judsons place tho, other then that madison is in the correct spot and likewise around the 5A

There is a big drop off between the top three or four teams in Region 3 and everyone else this year in my opinion. Last week, I mentioned if Katy went Div. 1 that Div. 2 would be hurting big time in Region 3. However, Elsik's win over Katy Taylor last weekend has the Tigers firmly in the D2 fold right now. Had Katy Taylor beat Elsik, Katy would have had a very strong chance of going Div. 1 for the first time since 97.

From the looks of it, Garland will have one helluva road to state, and if we even get very far, we deserve it all, I think.
Lets take a look:
1st. Round-Tyler John Tyler-not thought of as a tough opponent, but they are in teh playoffs for a reason
2nd Round-most likely Dallas Carter-They are easily one of the best teams in the state and we already lost to them once this season, excuses or not...
3rd round-Copperas Cove, Klein Forest, or Leander are the three most likely possibilities-all three are ranked higher than us according to www.5atexasfootball.com 's area rankings...I don't know much about these teams...
4th Round-Most likely Longview or Lufkin...both of whom are very good and very highly ranked...
5th round-Most would agree that it would be SLC...I don't have to say anything else...
Finals-Names from hte other side of the bracket that stick out are Katy, aand Smithson Valley, among others...will be a tough game no matter who it is...
If that is how our road to state goes, and we can make it to the finals and win, I think we will have deserved every bit of it...

It won't end up that way. The Diamond J is going to start mowing through some teams! We complain about their offense, but it's still one of the best in SA and that's includes scheduling 3 top 20 teams in the first 5 games!

I agree that's a tough road, but I still say you guys get nowhere near the semis. I'll keep a look out for you guys to improve through the year.

In 16 5A, I think projecting Crockett as the third team from the district to make the playoffs is probably off. They haven't played either Hays or Westlake yet (the two that are predicted to be at the top of the district). I think Austin High, which beat Bowie, or even Bastrop, which gave Hays a real run for their money last weekend are more likely to grab that spot than Crockett.

The road to state has a lot of familuar teams in it for SLC. Imac, Arlington, Abilene, Denton Ryan, Lufkin/Longview. Nothing is easy! If you want to be the best you must play the best. The problem with this is there is a lot of motivation to take SLC down!
Last year Imac motto was anybody but SLC in the first round. Well this year they get SLC in the first round. The last two games against Arlington have been ugly affairs with lots of annamosity between the two schools. Abilene was one of the best games of the year last year with revenge trully being a motivator. Denton Ryan has only lost to 1 5a school since becoming 5A. That school is SLC! The Lufkin wars have both been monumential. If it is Lufkin or Longview it is sure to be one of the best games of the year!
A little early to tell but it looks like a lot of travel for the Dragons come the second season! Imac at Texas Stadium, Arlington at Texas Stadium, Abilene at Shotwell in Abilene, Denton Ryan at Texas Stadium, Lufkin/Longview at Waco.
The state game might even be SV/SLC at the Alamodome!

I like the way it is set up. It would be nice to have that easy of a road to the Region 1 finals for Allen(not that they are far and away the best team on their half of the region, its just that I don't see any world-beaters)

No, take a team like Mansfield. They suck. They have won 2 games against terrible teams(Boswell/Paschal) who regularly year in and year out go 0-10.
