What do you say now... The trojans have proven themselves so far. Depite being down 14-0 in the first quarter they marched straight to a victory over nimitz 48-21... the only question is WHO'S NEXT? They can play when it matters and they can put a team away early if they wanted. whats to say.....

Careful, Trojanman...not too soon. Words can taste terrible. I am a Trinity fan and season ticket holder. You guys really showed some poise Friday. But it can really hurt if you don't recover. I hope people are beginning to see that the Trinity offense has some awesome tools in both passing and running. Nance did not play a great amount, yet got plenty of yards. The wholepackage is beginning to develop. Having to overcome early adversity is what you guys needed.

To answer your question, Grand Prairie is next.
I've been watching Trinity football since 1980, and I've seen some very good Trojan teams (championship caliber) lose to schools who were just a little bit better, or at least a little bit better prepared. The 2005 Trojans may be the best team Trinity has ever produced, and then maybe not.
I hope the 2005 football team has a little more humility than some of the Trinity posters on this board; that they keep their focus on improving every week, keeping the egos in check, and forgetting about what the newspapers say. If not, Bell, SGP, and Irving will come up and bite Trinity on the...you know.
Trinity is good, but the school has never (as in, ever) won a state championship in a major team sport, which seems strange to me. If 2005 is going to be Trinity's year, the football team is going to have to understand a simple fact; that in Texas, there's no such thing as a free lunch. And stop reading the newspapers...

I am waiting for myroud0, who was sitting at his computer during the games, to tell everybody what time certain players were pulled, when second string played. He seems to have a crystal ball to use for his credibility and source. He was posting after 9:20pm Friday nite, yet he seems to know when SLC and Trinity pulled certain players, etc. His source and credibility must be a crystal ball or wigi board.

in years past one could go on scoring stats to know who's playing and who wasn't. not any more, as 7-8 wrs play in every drive of more than 6 plays. with qb's rotating on a semi-regular basis, either or both could be in late. newton is getting more snaps, but is spelled frequently, though he plays not at all late in a game, if not close. the o-line doesn't switch out as much as the dline, and the dbs rotate less too. the rules have switched a little in today's dodgeball, as our depth has improved significantly.

I'm sorry, but Grand Prairie does count; they are next on the list and would love to hand Trinity its first loss. If Trinity follows your advice, they will end up like Bell, and that is not a good thing.
To prove my point, here's a quick history lesson. In 1987 Trinity was highly ranked, and their opponent for that week was Grapevine, who had moved up to 5A only recently. Trinity was highly favored to begin with, but about two days before the game, something happened to the Grapevine team. Their coach punished several Grapevine starters by cutting them from the Trinity game.
So Trinity, already flush with confidence and thinking of their big showdown with Bell the following week, promptly lost to the "disabled" Grapevine team, at Pennington, 20-12. I recall Grapevine celebrating their "greatest in school history" victory for days afterward; it made their year. Trinity never recovered, losing several games and missing the playoffs for the first time in years.
The moral of the story: Grand Prairie is Trinity's next big opponent, not Bell.

Trinity is looking good so far. The stats I see are ppg 46.8 and ppga 15.8. Right now, I would pick them to beat SLC if they met. The schedules are not too different and Trinity is showing a better defense. This web site has them picked no. 3. There usually is not a lot of difference in no 1 and no 3. Westfield is only giving up 6.3 per game, SLC is coughing up 20.2 ppg. IMO SLC looks like they will try to beat everyone by sheer offensive power but that may not work against a team good on both sides of the ball.

Could be that way, Nothing is for sure, no free rides and a whole lot of folks posting here are getting the cart a way ahead of the horse. I have been a Trinity season ticket holder since '79 and the only time Trinity made it to the finals, they went 5-5 in regular season. Coach Lineweaver has a good handle on this team, but we must remember these kids are still mostly 16 - 18 years old and can be unpredictabe (as I was 45 years ago). We also like to have lost 3 starting lineman to grades last week. Good Luck to all, hope everyone stays healthy and stays elgible.

BHS06, while you were at the Colleyville-SLC game on Friday night, I went to watch Trinity and I will tell you that you are NOT TRINITY's next test. Fortunately for Bell we are in the same school district as Trinity and that may be the only thing that keeps this team from hanging a 100 on us. They are complete in every phase. Hopefully the spirit of the rivalry will prevail and the game will be closer, but I do not see good things for the Blue Raiders a week from Friday.

ET haven't missed a beat so far. Ive been very impressed by them. However, the debate between who would win, SLC or ET is almost impossible to prove. I will say that ET look the more impressive so far, but the dragons seem to have an 'alright' postseason history in recent years.
Hopefully it wont come to ET Div1 champs and SLC Div2 champs because then it would never end. :(

Wasn't the game against us the first ever game at the new Pennington Field?
As the game film rolled today during film session, watching SGP play GP last week, what we saw from Grand Prairie was ugly. Their QB made SGP look like they had it easy. All he did was throw it up into triple coverage each time. It was either picked off or almost picked off and dropped. Their player Malcom Williams just stood right infront of GP's punter and caught the ball right off his foot, which seems like a very tough thing to do.

No, the first varsity game at the new Pennington was between Bell and someone else in week 1, 1987. Trinity got its first crack at Pennington in week 2, against Burleson, I think. The Trinity/Bell game took place in week 7, and Bell won.

i was not excluding tlee as much as trying to create a scenario whereby lview went d-1, seeing as it is entirely possible for tlee not to be in the hunt, something no one considered a possibility as recently as 2 weeks ago. i won't be surprised to see them still playing in late november, at least if they can get some good qb play one way or the other.

I know this is a ET post site, but our back-up QB is Marcus Jackson JR and I think he'll be ready this week. He's been playing mostly WR and nickelback on defense. He's a great athlete, speedy, strong arm - just not as accurate as P. Hill. Preston going down this week affected our team in a way I would have never predicted. Great practices on Sat. and today in preparation for the week and I look forward to a fun game(maybe not for Lee) on Thursday night. I think it'll be hard fought. We'll know after that how we'll be w/out Hill because that's probably 2-3 weeks -- unsure -- they're calling him week to week. He's tough so well have to wait and see.

I believe you are correct; if my memory is right, Tommy was a junior in '87 and the wretch was the talk of the town.
In those days (here's where I sound old) the Trinity/Bell (or Bell/Trinity) rivalry was much more interesting than it is today. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the two schools love/hate each other as much as ever, but the games don't have the life or death meaning they had back in the eighties. Back then, Trinity would win a few in a row, then Bell would win a few in a row, and it would go back and forth like that for years. Trinity vs Bell was one of the great rivalries in Texas; it attracted huge crowds and brought tons of exposure (full page stories in the DMN, front page in the FWST, and sports anchors to the pep rallies kind of things) to both schools, which was kind of fun.
As much as I want Trinity to beat Bell, and I hate saying this, but for the good of the rivalry, Bell really needs to beat Trinity. You want people to go to the game, not because it's a tradition, but because they will die a horrible and lonely death if the other school wins. You want a great rivalry because then the insults really do hurt, and that's what HS football is all about. I mean really, what could Bell possibly say about Trinity's football team that could hurt? Beat Trinity, and your flaunts will be richly earned, and they will sting...for a year anyway.
Believe me, I know all this from personal experience; hell hath no furry like an arrogant Blue Raider on a win streak. Try it, you might like it.

True Blue let me start by saying just because my name is Bellgraddad, it does not mean I am or am not a Bell fan. I post what I feel each week and if you notice and look back I have wished BHS06 luck and have been the first to congratulate Bell the two times that they have won this year. Just as I told him I would each time they win, which I believe will be once more this year. You can not make me change my opinion of the talent and committment of this year's squad. As it has been over the past several seasons we have seen a decline in talent and success in the programs that feed into Bell. When was the last time that a Bedford or Hurst team beat Euless or Central JH on a consistent basis? It happened about 5 years ago if memory serves me right. We no longer see kids and parents for that matter sticking it out and staying in a program until it turns back around. With the success of other programs in close proximity of the HEB area, these parents and kids have choices where they play. There are several private and church based schools that now offer very competitve and successful sports programs. Over the past 5 or 6 years we have seen several "talented" kids move because they were tired of losing. this did not start with the past coaching staff, however they did nothing to stop the tide. Until there is a committment from the school board and parents to put quality coaches at the Junior high level, we will NOT see success at Bell. DO YOU KNOW THAT THEY HAVE PRACTICED TACKLING ONCE, THAT'sRIGHT ONCE, this season at Bedford Junior high. You have 5 or 6 coaches over 8 or more teams and these kids do not get any of the coaching that they deserve and the support that these coaches deserve. You are correct in saying that the current team of Blue Raiders deserve an alum that supports them, I am not an alum, but do support them. Please look back at the positives I have given to BHS06. I just refuse to look at this season with "blue colored glasses" and blow smoke. Trinity is a very powerful team and we will be lucky to stay on the field with them. While I do not see where I need to discuss with you the successes of my children who attended and or may still attend LD Bell, they were quite happy with their endeavors and got much more out of it than I am sure many others did. I do not wish bad luck or negativity on any player at Bell HS, and so I will no longer post anything but positives for the team and will congratulate them on their win(s) as I told BHS 06 I would do. Also look back if you care to at the positive things I said to that young man and wished him best luck when he spoke of the team needing positive role models after the first game and two starters were shot while at a party the night before a game. HEBISD is changing and it is not for the better of BEll High School. Good day and good luck to the Blue Raiders.

This year's Dragon team is better than last years in one very important aspect. Depth! There have been more players getting touches of the ball and contributing than in years past. Daniel had a tendency to lock onto one reciever who was having a good day and not spread the ball around as much. This year, every player on the field is a threat to take it all the way and have on at least 1 occasion. Last year it was the Chase Daniel show, this year it is the Dragon's show. Not trying to take anything away from a great season with Chase Daniel and the helm, just think this years team has more playmakers.

When we were freshman at Bedford/Hurst..
Bedford 26, Euless 0(Vittattoe intercepted 3 times)
Central 28, Bedford 22(Dmitri Nance scores winning touchdown with 28 seconds left)
Hurst 28, Euless 12
Central 8, Hurst 6
I believe the reason tackling isn't practiced(not sure) is because 2 way players are done now. Coach Dodson promoted it but its not like that any more. Defense still does it, and should at Bedford, shame on them if its false.
In my opinion I think the level of football for Bell, in its coming years, is great. We have a bunch of good juniors who will be back, and sophomore talent as well. 2 or 3 Mauro brothers await in the ranks at Bedford and Bedford Heights Elementary to hopefully replace their brother one day.

Last years' Bedford Junior High 9th grade class won district in football and basketball... I think they were undefeated --
