Well, that looked like a damn good game. The Sooners improved on every point that the public said they needed to (quarterback, o-line, and defense), all those things looked great today, especially Rhett Bomar. That kid was playing like a senior. Offensive line looked really good too, particularly senior Davin Joseph. One thing I still cant believe the K state longsnapper snapped the ball with no punter right into the end zone...SAFETY! A pleasent suprise was seeing Paul Thompson at reciever, but he did pretty well there. I hope Adrian Peterson gets his ankle well enough to play next week, dont get me wrong, Kejuan Jones is a very good running back, but I'd take Adrian any day. I think that the shootout this year isnt gonna be a blowout like everyone seemed to think.

I dont think to many people really predict the game to be a blowout. 90% of the time over history the Tx vs OU game is pretty hard fought. Its one of those games you throw the records out the door.
I look for the poll voters to put OU around #25 this week.

Let's keep some perspective folks. According to the latest Sportsline 119 poll, the land thieves are ranked #44 in the nation. They just beat a team that was ranked #54 in that same poll. In other words, Mobilehoma might be lucky to move up among the top 40 teams in the nation. They will not be a top 25 team or anywhere close.
Bomar did not look good today. It's just that this was the first game that he didnt look terrible. They are getting better (they couldnt get much worse), but they arent ready for a Texas type oppoenent yet. My only concern for the Red River Rivalry, is that Texas doesnt run up the score, but I fully expect to see Hank the Tank getting some carries on something other than short yardage situations if ya know what I mean.

I was being nice. If AD isnt 100%, it may be much... much worse. Rhett Turnover still has trouble holding onto the ball and Texas make him pay for that. Put it this way, though he may have more potential, Bomar is not even on par with Brad Smith rigth now and you saw what Texas did to him today. Expect much of the same.

you guys are just jealous...our defense kicked ***, rhett bomar looked like a senior, and adrian peterson was ALL DAY (until that ankle incident). It wouldnt suprise me if adrian played next week and the first chance texas has they grab his ankle and twist it. Stop ignoring the fact the we are improving and we're now looking like classic bob stoops era sooners. Im not saying we're gonna beat texas or anything, but we're definatly gonna give you a run for your money, and your not just gonna walk over us like we're louisiana lafayette or rice. And about Adrian Petersons academics, idk what that whole thing about him cutting class was about, but he was an excellent student in high school and as far as i knew an excellent student in college. Come on dude.. Rhett Bomar looked like a "SENIOR ???" That's a little over the top dont you think ? He looked like a solid college QB but not a great QB. Dont forget that was Kansas St weak secondary he was throwing against.
Peterson is playing on "one leg" right now and you can bet that his going to be taking shots on that ankle. "thats football."
The defense still showed some flaws in it and that was against a Kansas St team that has zero offense.
Dont get me wrong.. Oklahoma looked improved and nobody thought they would just go away and call it year after the TCU and UCLA game. But, really man.
Should be a good game. I think Texas will be really fired up this season for this game. I also feel that Texas doesnt have that Mental block this season like the past few seasons when they played Oklahoma. Texas "believes this season."
Its either going to be really close with Texas beating OU or its going to be a blowout favoring Texas. One of those two.

Rhett Turnover looked like a senior?!?! What senior? Sure as hell isnt a senior the land thieves are used to having. Turnover completed 55% of his passes for just 139 yards. His total offensive production was just about 200 yards. Those numbers arent that far off from what Reggie McNeal did yesterday and he is being BLASTED across the country for his horrible performance... but I guess since Reggie is a senior, that means Rhett Turnover did play like a senior.
Nobody is denying the fact that BlowU is improving, but they had nowhere else to go. In other words, they couldnt have gotten any worse, but to say this team is playing like a "typical Stoops era team" is an outrageous slap in the face to all those good Stoops era teams. Right now, Mobilhoma is on par with Mizzou... no better.

Being a UT alum, I have never really understood Oklahoma's interest in the RR shootout. I mean basically you have a bunch of Texans in Burnt Orange on side of the Cotton Bowl. You have a bunch of OKies dressed in red on the other side of the Cotton Bowl. Both sides are watching a Texas all star game. I mean OU should just change thier name to UT North.
Secondly they have to keep the game in Dallas because for most of the OU players its the only real "home " game they have all year.
So Okies keep driving to Dallas. Keep spending your money in Texas, and keeping routing for your Texas mercenaries.

Speaking of recruiting Texas is doing some serious recruiting. Super LB Sergio Kindle, Super RB Emanuel Moody, Super RB Vondrell MaGee and this Athletic 6-9 300 pound Webb kid from North Mesquite. Plus you already have Vinny Young for another year, Selvin Young and J Charles.
OU needs to step it up. Yeah we got AD next year, but we need to replace him after he leaves, almost certainly next year. (Whitaker...Pearland?!!)
The O-Line has plenty of developing youth. Linebackers....we need some LB's!! DB's are young and developing.
Overall our main focus should be LB, DE, DT, RB, WR. Oh and a solid back-up at QB! Again the O-line is loaded with youth.....that's part of the development that's on going!!
Yes, if you can't tell I'm an OU fan....but I'm also a UT fan....just as long as they're not playing OU. I like all my Texas teams!!

44% of the Mobilhoma roster is made up of Texans (43 out of 97). Funny that we dont get so angry at Oklahoma State who's roster is 45% Texans (46 of 103).
By contrast, Texas' roster is 89% Texans (105 of 118), aggy's is 92% Texans (130 of 141) and Tech roster is 85% Texans (79 of 93).
People get to worked up over these kids going to other schools. Fact is that ALL Texas colleges from Texas all the way down to JUCOs and then all the way down to aggy are packed full of Texas kids. In other words, there are more athletes produced by this state then there are roster spots available on Texas teams.
Texas doesnt lose all it's best talent either. For every Rhett Turnover that leaves the state, their are Vince Youngs and Reggie McNeals that stay. For ever Adrian Peterson that leaves, there are Jamaal Charles and Vondrell McGees that stay. For every DeMarcus Granger that leaves there are Roy Millers and Frank Okams that stay, and on and on.

I'm not going to predict a score (I don't care what Texas wins by as long as they get the job done), but I will say that Gene Chizik (UT DC) is going to show Rhett Bomar some defensive football he's never seen before.
Kansas State is a bad football team this year. OU has yet to beat a top 40 team this year, so I don't buy the whole "Boomer Sooner Resurrection" talk.
Peterson didn't get many yards between the tackles against Texas last year. All of his success came on outside runs when the Sooners ran at Texas' weak link at LB last year...Eric Hall. Hall was by far the slowest LB on the team and constantly took himself out of plays, so Stoops did the smart thing and ran at him the entire time. Texas couldn't adjust because there was no one else stepping up at the Sam backer spot behind Hall all year. This year, Texas has three linebackers that can all make plays and have footspeed to match.
Since Stoops has been at Oklahoma, this is the biggest match-up advantage Texas has ever had player wise. Also, Mack Brown/Greg Davis became much better coaches when they let Vince and the team develop their own attitude after the Missouri game last year and have fun.
If Texas can't beat Oklahoma this year with the huge match-up advantage in the trenches and at QB...it's never going to happen.

Either way i think Texas has a very legit shot at the NC and i will be cheering for them to do it since my team is out of it in a big way.
I hope Texas dosent come in over confident thinking OU will Lay down. In this game you throw out the records and give it your All. If I'm Mack Brown...I'm showing my team film of the last 5 OU-UT games and hoping they are going into the game thinking like an underdog with something to prove. This game will be about these three things for Texas in my opinion...
1. Attitude- don't hope or you think you can win...know it. Expect to be successful.
2. Execution- play like you have been during the first four weeks of the season. Make the proper adjustments if they throw anything different out there.
3. Efficiency- don't make the big mistakes and put the pressure on Oklahoma. Eliminate turnovers and drive stopping penalties.
Oh, and I blame Bob Stoops for global warming.

Mack beat Stoops in 1999, Texas won 38-28 coming back from a early 17-0 deficit. Stoops won a national title his second year at OU. So Mackymack is 1-5 vs Stoops, about to be 2-5, I dont see this game being close.
