well, when i hear SC, I think of Southern Cal. Not to be dissing Carroll, but that's what I think of. In fact, i usually don't refer to Carroll as SLC, unless I'm on a message board. i just call them Carroll or Southlake.

With SLC it is clearly evident that the acronym refers to Southlake Carroll. SC could mean many things; South California; South Carolina etc, but SLC unmistakable, even if it is not the politically correct acronym.
