He promised this huge celebration that nobody would forget if he scored a TD in last nights game. Well, he scored in the first Quarter and goes on the sideline and pulls out this jacket that said "Future H.O.F 20??"
Big letdown. I was expecting atleast a unsportsmen like conduct call!!!!:Censor:

The guy is a joke IMO. All that talent and no class. I don't give a rip how good a receiver he is, his overwhelming need for attention is getting old. Your paid to catch the football not be a side show.:Censor:
Love Chad Johnson......No Fun Leauge......

I admire for Chad doing that against Baltimore. They made him pay for the move with some wicked licks - so he traded the limelight for bruises - good for him.

Chad is a fool! But, when it's all said and done, the man practices, and plays hard every week. Cocky and arrogant, that he is! But, he does work hard. I'd take him.

Chad makes playing the sport so much enjoyable, let alone watching. His teammates and he enjoys seeing that while it is a profession, there can be enjoyment. There is being downright selfish and insulting, then there is being humorous, in-your-face-yet-respectful.
I promise you guys, Chad and the DB's he goes one-on-one with, laugh about this stuff after the game is over.
4w is right... National Fun League! Stay in good health, make millions of dollars and have a blast.... I wish I was out there.

He's a very good WR and fun to watch. I would take him on my team any day of the week.

Come on dude, untwist your panties.
He's led the AFC in yards for 4 consecutive years and could easily do that again this year. I thought the celebration was good. It wasn't as good as some of the ones he's done, but he has one ready for each week, and to be honest, I'm excited.
I think being the best receiver in the league for several years gives him the right to brag just a little.

This is the national football league, not Saturday night live. All that "look at me, I need more attention" crap is boorish and childish. Do your job and celebrate making good plays, I don't have a problem with that. He has turned his job into a circus and I don't care how good he is. He has plenty of fans, I am just not one of them.

There is nothing better than to expect something to happen and watch it. I was let down that T.O. didn't celebrate on Sunday.

really how can you say you know what the NFL should look like. You don't play in it. You aren't being paid in any part of the office.
I think if you look at a majority of the people who watch the NFL they are more than happy by the way it is run. To me, Chad Johnson is making a statement by saying, "hey, lets have some fun playing this game".
Isn't that what he is doing after he scores a touchdown which is almost the best play you can make.

I am sure the folks that like the over the top antics are probably wrestling fans (TV wrestling not the actual sport) You can like what he is doing all you want just like I think he looks stupid doing it. Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison are two of the best ever and you never see that crap from them. I just don't see why you can't have fun playing the game without making it look silly.

I agree with you in saying that he jacket was stupid but most of his other stuff last year was funny and entertaining. Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison just have complete different personalities from CJ and thats just it. I wouldn't want either of them doing what he does. Its just because thats what CJ does, he comes up with entertaining ways to celebrate.
and I don't like wrestling...mens soap opera.

if you pay attention, when he's "talking smack" the other players usually end up laughing. I like him. I like players like him that try to keep it fun.
his teammates also stand behind him. that's good enough for me.
and yes, part of his salary is generated by being entertaining( tickets+ ads= $$$$$$$$$$$)

As long as it's classy (i.e. no randy moss "mooning"), I think it's great. You play football for millions each year. If you can't take a little trash talk/celebration dance, get off the field. I personally liked some of the ones that Steve Smith did before it became the No Fun League.

I think you are pathetic for judging him in a negative light due to his creativity. What the hell does it hurt you... or anyone? Honestly. He isn't TO... he doesnt even hurt his team.

good lord, it's just his opinion. key word being OPINION. someone shouldn't be crucified for that, especially not in this case. in no way is he making some unbelievable, pulled-out-of-butt statement. i can understand where he's coming from, but for me, i think johnson is a nice change of pace for the league.

i couldn't help after reading your post, wondering what Lee Ermey(the Marine in his avatar, BTW) would have to say to Chad, a gung HO, highly motivated player.
