I talked to the ticket office at SMU and the closest parking lot is not locked, as far she knew, so we will be able to arrive as early as we want. I have a call in to the ticket manager, who may have more information and will update on this thread as info comes in. Go Dragons!

Ah. I'm so disappointed that I am not going to be there. But, on a great note, doctor has set Friday morning, 6:00am, as the induction date/time for our new little girl. At least one of you guys is responsible for yelling your head off on my behalf. Can one of you handle that? We'll try to get her dressed in green for the ESPNU broadcast and you can count on cheering coming from Northwest Arkansas.

Thank you for the congrats, but you aren't as smart as I thought you were if you are trying to suggest that the naming rights to this one belong to anyone other than momma. :D I'll send you a picture on Friday night, provided all goes well.

SMU did beat the NCAA version of Southlake Carroll last Saturday..somehow.  Nearly crapped myself when I found out the official passing stats. I knew it was over 500, but 601 ackkkkkkk.

I have some friends that went to the SMU, Tech game and they say they will never go back due to parking. I still say the best way is to park in Garland or downtown Dallas and ride the train to Mockingbird station... then walk.;)

That game made me furious. I was there, and the amount of dumb football played by UNT was unthinkable. Too many turnovers, too many stupid penalties (encroachment at the end of the half = 1 untimed down = 7 points they shouldn't have had) and just plain bad football. I'm sure Dodge will be able to pick our boys up and do some good this year, but we were really counting on beating SMU.

Does anyone know how ticket sales at MNW have gone? Dr. Ed?
You guys are not helping my decision here. This past weekend was nuts, soccer practice for the six year old Friday night followed by a fun evening at the local pizza fun place.
Hosted a sleepover w/one of the soccer kids. Up early and breakfast before our first game of the season at 10:30(hot as crap). Then a birthday party at 2-4, followed by the event at the gymnastics place, followed by a church dinner at 5:30. Missed most of the a$m game 2nd half and OT, but really didn't miss much of the Texas game due to the other one going long.
In any case, I have a 12:00 soccer game. Probably be back to the house 1:30-2PM. TX kicks off at 2:30PM.
I would beed to get to Ford by 5PM to get seats not in the end zone, and with all these troubles I am having to leave around 3:30 or so.

Breathe my brother, breathe! Somedays, you just have to accept you can't take it all in. That's what Sports Center's for. Relax, watch the Dragon's kick some Bull behind and rejoice in the fact that it's football season.;) :D

I know, as she's getting older it appears the work week is less busy than the weekend.
I knew in the back of my mind the time when college football/HS football etc. would take a back seat was coming and it appears to be hitting me in the face right now.
I am facing a dilema. I can stay home, watch the Texas game and then the SLC game on TV or miss from about the 2nd half on and go to Ford.
If my father in law was still around, there would be no doubt. I want to go, but logistically it would be much easier to watch it on TV.
I am getting old.

So when do those parking lots near the stadium open up?
Also, can the accomodate a small RV for tailgating or am I just asking for trouble?
Any help here would be appreciated.

All I know so-far is that the main stadium parking lot nearest the field, is not locked. So we can get in early..we plan on getting there about 2PM. I'm still trying to get more solid info from SMU and will post when I do.

I'm going to guess its 3 miles south down 75. Not sure on the bus system. The exit you want off 75 is Mockingbird and you will go maybe 1/2 mile west on Mockingbird.

Mockingbird Station is not a bad walk at all. I'd say roughly a half mile from the Stadium. Just follow the stairs up to street level and make your way backl across 75 on Mockingbird and the Stadium will be right there. I think that would be the smartest thing to do personally.

Man those satellite photos are old, probably from around 2000-2001! The foundation on Garland's 'new' field house was still being laid down. ;)

Thanks for the help. I'm totally lost when it comes to the DFW area. Anyone have a clue about the train schedule in that area or where I can get it?

Carroll has already sold in excess of 6,000 tickets and that is before they go on sale at all the schools this week. I understand that SMU has sold several thousand as well. So, let's say at this point, ticket sales are somewhere around 9,000 in advance. I am sure many more will take place before this weekend. Still, I must admit that I do not anticipate a sellout, nice as that would be.

Southbound red line from the hospital area, Walnut Hill station, there are three trains an hour on Saturdays. Should take about fifteen min. to Mockingbird station
