C'mon A&M fan - why go there? Ok, so, some poor cadet steps on the dog's tail, why make a PR story out of it? I just don't get it.

I think if you're not an Aggie, it is almost impossible to figure out their sensitivities. So just go with it and enjoy it.

OMG? You can step on the nicest, cutest, and cuddly puppy in the world's tail and he or she would snap at you? It hurt the Cadet's feeeeeelings though so it all makes sense.

There's no chance that dog will ever have rabies. They guard it too much. If they want to do something productive, they should give her a HIV test.

I've stepped on my dogs legs and tail before and apologized and we both went about our business. All the dog cares about is that you're not mad at them. Then again, I think Reveille has an attitude problem because of how she's treated.

I heard it was a bite and not a snap.

I imagine he stepped on her tail after losing the leash, with the hands being busy with other projects and all...:D

Lol, I am an A&M fan and for some reason I found this quite hilarious.

I think Pat Forde said all that needs to be said...
Bad Dog
Texas A&M mascot Reveille VII (35), the collie that sits on the sideline at Aggies games, was benched last week for snapping at her handler after the guy stepped on her tail. Sounds like he had it coming.
Being the highest-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets gives Reveille something to bark about.
But here's the part of the wire story that stopped The Dash: "Reveille is considered the highest-ranking member of the school's Corps of Cadets and stands at attention in her maroon coat during sporting events and other functions."
Highest-ranking member of the Corps of Cadets? Do they salute the dog? Are there medals on the dog's coat? And why does the dog wear a coat to begin with?
If Reveille outranks the humans, what right do they have to discipline her for biting one of them? Shouldn't the correct response to a bite from a commanding officer be, "Thank you, ma'am, may I have another?"
Tough as Reveille might be, The Dash would rather take its chances with her than Ralphie (36) the buffalo or Mike (37) the tiger.

That is funny on so many levels.

Is the Lufkin Daily News published by A&M???
Or did they release the article to the Associated Press???

Good question - it was just bizarre. I don't know. I did like Pat Forde's response. I mean, if this story originate from Austin -we'd say those folks are in the 'shrooms again.

When I saw the highest ranking line in the Lufkin paper, I thought, "They must be Aggies".
