How many teams have ever came back from a 1-9 season to win the district title the year after?
Arlington High who is in the drivers seat of 7-5a is doing so right now.
Lets some cinderella stories.

EDIT: I had something here because I (for some reason) didn't see the 5A part.

The worst turn around I heard was Tyler John Tyler when they lost to Katy in 2000 and than the next year, they collapse and some players began to move to our school.

Is it just me or is district 7-5A incredibly weak this year.

Mmmmm......Trinity comes to mind.
They went 4-6 in '91; missed the playoffs 5 consecutive years.
Then went 5-5 in '92, got on a roll and went on to play for a state championship.
13-1 in '93; came *that* close to a rematch with Judson.

I hate to say it but it appears the Plano Wildcats are back after a 3 year nap. They beat a decent Plano West team 45-7. They will amke some noise in the D1 playoffs assumong PESH does not get there.

Drgnkbr, I built my house out here only last year, so I know little about NW's football program besides that they are the "Texans" and are 4A. As for the stadium, it's a gem - I have the tax bill to prove it!
I graduated from Trinity many moons ago, so they are still my team.

I drive through your area every day...I'm building a log home between Bridgeport & Weatherford...It is a nice stadium!

Yes, that's why I already eliminated almost everybody.

I think they bowed out gracefully before they had to play them again! :p

i wonder why scaper is paying taxes on the bond issue. i guess indirectly he is, as the bonds are being repaid somehow. the receipts from the playoff games that'll certainly roll into the easily accessible, wonderfully new stadium will help a little. is nw going to pull a slc in their first year in 5a next year.

They got a ton of $$ from the racetrack....I just don't see the talent level out there....It would take some extreme coaching IMO

It won't be accessible on race weekend in November!

Well, the stadium is being paid for through bonds approved by voters several years ago, so yes I am paying for it though my property taxes. I don't have problem with it; I voted "yes" to our latest bond election yesterday, which will pay for a new HS and other expansion.
I'm not sure about NW pulling a SLC; there are big differences. SLC had a proven football program even when they were 3A, they were far more advanced than their peers, and this is true today. Unless I'm mistaken, I think it is unlikely Southlake ISD is going to build another HS anytime soon, so that will keep SLC strong.
Northwest HS has an okay football program, but it isn't a powerhouse, even for 4A. Granted, the school is going to leap into 5A soon and will get big. But unlike Southlake, a new school is on the horizon. I believe the new $90m HS is to open either in Rhome or near Trophy Club around 2009/2010, with at least two more HS opening between 2015 - 2020. I see NW resembling Irving ISD (the horror!) or Keller ISD type situation, with several beta high schools, as opposed to the alpha high school situation of Southlake ISD or Duncanville ISD. Then again, I could be wrong...

They bowed out 12 to zip to Plano in the semis; Trinity may have been graceful about the loss, but I for one was not.
Anyway, Plano vs. Judson was such a boring event. An undefeated Trinity playing Judson again, given what had happened the year earlier, would have made a much more interesting story. True, Judson was awesome in '92-93, and probably would have won the game anyway, but we will never know.
Who knows, maybe we'll get our rematch with Judson this year; I think Trinity would take that match-up, assuming either school makes it that far.

your supe told me his studies have nwisd with 7 5a schools at grow out. each one will dwarf slc. you have a good coach up there and i'd like to see them start winning.
