Is this how our new coach prepares his team for a football game? I am not impressed. The defense looks weak and what the hell has happened to Roy Williams? The offense looks like they haven't played together and the play calling has got to get better. Those running plays in the red zone just told me that the field goal was the objective.:Censor:

Oh God do I love it when the Cowboys implode.....
I caught it when they score 10 points in about a span of 20 seconds.:D

Ummm... they are without their best CB. They are playing a 67 year old CB and Evil Roy Williams is far and away the worst coverage safety in the NFL. He's terrible in any kind of coverage and always has been. Meanwhile, the front 7 has been awesome and the offense has been very, very good. Romo to Witten = money. Quit you whining Dawg. :p

The Giants are basically exploiting the height and skill advantage Burress has over Reeves.
He is without a doubt the worst corner Dallas has...

Don't slam me because your Jags suck:p My point is that Phillips is supposed to be a great defensive mind and yet we run a defense that allows Manning all the time he needs to exploit our DB's.

You leave my Jags out of this. We have scoreboard on the Boys anyway. :p
Manning has been under some good pressure. What's being exploited are Dallas' crappy CBs and weak secondary by two veteran and good receivers.

Dallas's entire defense is weak and can't tackle. I thought that we would be able to put pressure on Manning. Our blitz schemes are pathetic. :Censor:

Okay, who's the ref that looks like he also works for Bowflex? I'm having a real hard time taking him seriously. Whenever he makes a signal it look like he's about to "pull a hulk" and shred his shirt.

Roy williams looks like he's playing with 25# ankle weights on, and the Giants have the new Nike Nitrous Afterburner shoes...(theoretically speaking of course)

Yep that's Ed Hochuli. If you've ever played Madden on the 360 and seen the ref it's Ed Hochuli, not sure if he's on the other systems but I know he's on the 360 version.
(Edit: According to wikipedia he's on the PS3 version as well)

Lots of discussion last year because the new uniforms..."show" him off.
He's probably the last ref I'd get into a fight with.

Game is pretty much over - beautiful slant to Heard - 45-35.
Manning is out with bruised shoulder. Tubbo qb from Kentucky dives/flops for 1st on 4th down - turn ball over.
Great Cowboy O
Terrible Cowboy D

If our offense is gonna put up 45 points a game...it's not really going to matter how well our defense plays.

The good news for me: Romo and Witten are on my fantasy team. IDK how well Jones did because I was at work. He's on there too. What sucks...I have the Dallas D...BUT my backup is the Giants D...RUNNNN!!!!! :(

I'd like to let it be known that the Giants aren't exactly a bad team. They do have legit weapons like Burress, Toomer, and Shockey. Not to mention, Eli has tons of potential, and if he ever develops, he'll be a great one. This is just one game so lets not hang it up on the defense yet.

I loved the offense tonight for the Cowboys, but the defense does need to improve. A lot of that was missing our star CB Terrence Newman, and LB Greg Ellis. Reeves got left many times in the dust, but did make a good interception. The rushing defense looked good at first, then fell apart after Jacobs got injured:confused: . You would think they would improve when he goes out, but I guess the game planning for a bruising back didn't work when a more shifty back like Ward comes in. He made us change the way we wanted to play, and that led to him getting some good yards. All in all, the Cowboys are given a B+ grade from me, and that is mainly because of the offense. Way to go Cowboys, your 1-0!:D

It wasn't pretty but it's a win. Not every team will be the Giants though and we're gonna have to improve on defense. We allowed way too many points and gave Eli too much time.

I dont think a lot of people realize how much it hurts the Cowboys D with Newman out. When Newman is out the Cowboys have to keep Roy back to help out the corners and we all know how that goes.....:puke but if Newman were playing Roy would be free to play at the line and rush the passer and help out agasint the run. Thats when the D is at its best.
Romo, TO, and Witten are studs.

I agree but it also baffles me how the Boys failed to address quality depth in the secondary this offseason. Look at that craptastic draft where we spent multiple 4,5,6 round picks on oline &, my personal favorite, a qb that will have to convert to receiver.

The defense had it's moments. The thing that is most concerning is the injuries. Dallas wasted a season last year in which they were as injury free as an NFL team could hope to be. Now they playing without the nose guard(out for season), best db & a starting lb. It amazes me that after 7 #1's & 90 million in guaranteed money the defense has no real depth.

I have no patience for "Newman and Ellis are injured".
Terrance has a foot muscle tear that will not allow him to be 100% all year long, and I'm sure the docs told JJ and co. so. And, Ellis is probably done for his career - the achilles will not heal.
Nothing more than typical Cowboy excuses. Get over it and go get some players. Imagine if that had been the Pats.

He saved the game at the end by stopping tubby before the 4th down marker. Everyone realizes he's bad at coverage, that's why they use him as a run stopper.

That wasn't a game saver at all. The Giants forfeited when they kept Manning out. Roy Williams needs to find his motivation because he looked like a out of shape third string player. They need to move him to linebacker or trade him for a decent corner if anyone would make the deal.

Roy has been a safety for Dallas for how long now? If dallas would get some CBs that could cover they wouldn't need Williams back. When he rushes the QB there isn't much time for the QB to sit in the pocket anyway

Guys...lay off Roy Williams. He had 9 tackles last night and that isn't exactly bad. The only major mistake I saw last night is when he didn't close in on Burress on that Giant's touchdown. Most people only knew it was him b/c the broadcasters made such a big deal about it.

You mean the Giants forfeited when Eli Manning was sacked by the Cowboys and hurt his shoulder and therefore couldn't come back in?
Tubby was running for the first down and Roy Williams came up and knocked him down short. That was game. The problem is the INJURIES. That's why he has to play a different position.

the dude gets burnt on a regular basis. It be different if he was taking chances to make plays, but all too often, he is just float out of position.
not being able to cover up top with a noob at CB was a big facor in Burress' big night.

Question, do you actually believe that the game needed saving when that back up QB for the Giants came in with minutes left in the game? There wasn't any game that needed saving when Manning went out. The game was basically over the minute Manning came out. Plain and simple

I definitely agree that he looks lost out there sometimes, and by the time he realizes who his man is there's a good 10 yards of separation. I just think it would help if we kept him in one position. We stick him in CB and complain b/c he's not pass rushing, then stick him in LB and blame him for missing coverages. He makes a lot of mistakes, but it seems like sometimes people expect him to do everything out there.

The lack of depth is showing, that's for sure. You lose a lock down DB, and it's going to show up until they figure a way to get real pressure on the passer. The future is not incredibly bright for the D, but it's not exactly dark either.
Someone needs to get on the phone and start finding some players that want a shot to wear the star.
