I posted this on another thread but thought I should start a new one with it. How does everyone else see the season going.

Redskins88:
1st place a toss-up between SV and Churchill....Madison's got a way to go. Judson will get the playoffs. Mac should probably keep dreaming. Reagan needs some changes, but consider their season over. Roosevelt...I dunno.

You know it's been a strange start to the season. Everybody is kind of beating up on each other. It starts with Churchill losing to Marshall. Reagan starts off 2-0 with a big win over Warren. Mac does the same by beating Clark and Taft(everyone says Taft is now trash). Madison loses to San Marcos and they must be on the down slide. O'Conner comes out on fire with a win against McAllen and then gets blown out at home by Boerne. Then Boerne goes home and loses to Mac. O'Conner must really be bad now. Madison blows out Taft which means Taft is now rated with Lee. Reagan plays Jay and it can't be! Jay blows Reagan off the field. Madison goes into O'Conner land and will walk on them since Boerne beat O'Conner and Mac beat Boerne. O'Conner sucks this year. Right! Madison pulls off a win in a nail biter.
SV is rolling and gets a bye week with Churchill coming in......Opps Churchill wins???? What is that. How can that happen? SV played HORRIBLE (at least that's what everyone from SV things). Mac could be for real with the win over Boerne and will take out Reagan since Reagan couldn't beat Jay. Come on it's Jay. Nope! Reagan beats Mac who beat Boerne who beat O'Conner who barely lost to Madison. Reagan is going to kill Madison then. Nope wrong again. Madison wins 21-9??? What the heck is going on? How could I forget Warren over Marshall. No way that happens after Reagan beat Warren and then Jay beats Reagan. Warren is over rated. Bam! Warren beats Marshall. Now Warren gets the bye week in Taft. Remember Taft sucks out loud after losing to Mac and Madison. You got it. Taft upsets Warren 34-33. I guess Taft is better then Warren which in turn is better then Marshall which in turn is better then Churchill which in turn is beter then SV. Wow! Taft should be rated #2 in the city now. SV is not where we thought they were after losing to that HORRIBLE team Churchll. Their going down against Judson. Wrong again. SV 21-7.

What it comes down to is it looks like we have a lot of teams that could win on any given night. A lot depends on matchups with each teams strenghts and weaknesses. Now that we've got a few games under everyone's belt I would still say that SV and Judson are still the teams to beat but not by the margins in the past years. Both teams look to have good defenses but offensively they are not running on all cylinders and that has brought them down to the rest of the district. I would also say that teams like Churchill, Reagan and Mac have all raised their level of play. Madison looks to be as good as last year and are now leading the district. Big game tonight in Churchill/Roosevelt and then next week we get:

Judson at Roosevelt
Madison at Churchill
MacArthur at SV
Reagan at Lee

Should be a lot of fun watching how this district works out this year.

It will be interesting on how things work out. As far as easy games....they should be but that hasn't been how it's worked out so far.

I don't know if there are any gimmes this season. Could Churchill, Judson, & SV win out making it a 3 way co-champs  Can Madison go undefeated???

I don't think so but you never know.

everyone is talking about SV judson and churchill in San Antonio. What about Schertz Clemens they are the #1 team they already beat some power programs this yr. such as roosevelt and waco. Offense looked better last night, even though it was jefferson lol they were 7 of 9 passing for 119 yds not much but alot for the clemens passing game. look out for the buffaloes this yr san antonio!

THREE OF THEM HAD TO LOSE...they were playing other teams in the top 10.

I said previously the #9Churchill v. Roosevelt game was a tossup. Church was move BACK into the Expense-News top 10 based on last weeks victory over SV. This week back out.

As for the other two losers from the Expense-News top 10 (#4 Warren and #5 Jay) they come from 27-5. What were they doing up there in the first place?

True but the 4 and 5 teams lost to non-top 10 teams. I agree with you that Churchill drops out, Reagan and maybe Seguin as well, but what about the others? Judson will still be top 10, but what about Warren and Jay? Roosevelt should move in but who else?

BTW, cute sig line, how long will you be using it? :D

I say they won't put Roosevelt in.

It's hard guessing what the E-N will do, probably swap SV and Judson at #2 and #3. Move Madison and San Marcos up#4 and #5. They'll leave Churchill in at #10 because of win over SV (change of mind-this is the E-N) and pack #6-#9 with 27-5 teams...my guess...Jay, O'Connor, Clark and Warren. Just my guess what the E-N will do.

The problem the E-N has is that Warren was in there at all (okay maybe #10, but # freakin' 4, no way). Let's see, Warren wins: Alamo Heights, Southwest, Marshall. Warren loses: Reagan and Taft.

Rattler a couple of points:
1) I think Lonny now's full well that I'm bragging for the one or two weeks I can.
2) Your win was a win, not a blow out and I dont think it would happen again if we played this week.

I'm well aware there is probably a time limit on the bragging rights but while it lasts San Marcos is just entitled to it as Madison, don't you think?

As for whether y'all would win right now in a rematch thats just speculation either way but San Marcos is playing much better now as well. I don't happen to agree with your opinion but we can agree to disagree.

Agree to disagree on the second point, but on the first point, I didnt know San Marcos was alone at the top 25-5A like Madison is in the 265. Okay, I kind of think maybe I can follow your thought here, but Madison is atop the 265 through the misfortune of others, not because anything they have done. I dont think there's anything to brag about there. jmo.

We bash 25-5A because all but 3 teams are on life support. It's not because of Seguin, Clemens, or San Marcos.

Actually I just said "irony" except in reply to your post about "bragging rights." Madison may be alone in their position through the "misfortune" of others but you are in that spot to begin with by winning. Just keep it up!

Okay, just a little thread confusion, I think.

Websters: IRONY - incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result (2) : an event or result marked by such incongruity.

I agree there is some degree of irony there, but I implied from your statement that you got bragging rights out of that. If not, my bad, because that would be like Churchill having bragging rights over Judson. My bragging rights come from a fact, 2-0 in district.

Okay, what "wall" did Jones run into? He got 80 yards....he wasn't to blame for the loss either...the whole team was. They failed to produce in the redzone.

listen we all know that madison cant beat both SV or CJ, but they will win one i know it. Now, to the person that said "theyre at #1 cuz of others misfortune" is completely wrong. Madison could have lost to Reagan like madison or lose to Roosevelt like Churchill but no THEY WON, madison is at #1 due to SV and CJ losing but they taking advantage of this and WINNING THEIR GAMES

Fact is freshman, that the easiest part of Madison's schedule is at the start of the year. Others have shown over the past 20+ years that they improve their games as the year goes on; Madison has failed to do that consistently. Madison would be far better off playing Judson and/or SV far earier in the year, but that's not the way it is know.
