McCown as the starter. I am not sure I like the sound of that. I have a sinking feeling inside when I think about it. I don't really know why. McCown played well in the preseason and led the Raiders on some scoring drives, even though the scores came from the Backs, not from passes. Despite the close stats between them, I just felt that Culpepper had that spark. You know what I mean? I can't put it into words. That "something" about him that was creating a Buzz around the Raiders.

Now we have McCown. Does that really stir excitement in anyone?

I have a feeling that Kiffin will be second guessing this decision before the game is even over.

This isn't college anymore. Starting in college is a privilege earned by seniority as well as play. Seniors will usually get the nod over Sophmores if the play is close. I think Kiffin let this mentality influence his choice of starting QB's. I think his gut told him it should be Culpepper, but his values and logic told him it should be McCown. However, this is the NFL. Seniority and loyalty don't mean squat. The player that gives the team the best chance to win should play. I think Kiffin has made a mistake. McCown has worked hard I am sure. He has been there longer, do doubt. This does not mean that he gives the Raiders the best chance to win.

The media spin is on about how Kiffin can open the playbook more with McCown. About how LOGICAL this is. But just last week, everyone in the media knew in their gut that Culpepper looked better. They all had that buzz about Culpepper returning to pro-bowl form. Now logic is the order of the day and the talk is about how Culpepper will get his shot down the road.

I hope this doesn't leave the Raiders with a bad taste in their mouths and thoughts of what might have been.

Now we all can finally believe the truth... The raiders are a JOKE

Don't get too worked up. Culpepper will be your starter, soon. Maybe as soon as next week. It's not media spin when you hear about McCown giving them more options. He's been around all offseason. He knows the playbook better, at this point. Daunte will be just fine in another week or so. You can't send him out there in the regular season with a vanilla package unless you want to see him fail. The preseason is over. You're not going out there against a scrub lineup that a simple gameplan will defeat.

When was the last time the Cowboys went to a Super Bowl? Have they been this decade?

Raiders have. They have played in 2 AFC Championship games in the 2000s and won one.

Where was your team hum? Starting Quincy Carter!

Starting McCown doesn't make them a joke, just not sure if he is the best.

First of all... Im not a Cowboy...My pro-football heart was ripped outside of my body when the Oilers kicked me in the balls and left.... Second, what good is going to the super bowl...if your not going to win it? No one remembers the loser.

Third, if starting McCown doenst make them a joke....then what does?

ps. Im stuck with the Texans for 14 games a year.....i know a joke when i see one. ;) :p

My bad Hum. I am so used to Cowboys bias here that I get a little defensive. Texans aren't a joke either. I really think that the line between the top and bottom teams is real thin in the NFL. A lot comes down to momentum and execution. Texans could have both with Schaub.

That doesn't make them any less of a joke for this year. Cowboys, Steelers, and 49ers have the most superbowls, but does anyone think they are going to win the superbowl this year?

Typical McCown stats. Look decent on paper, but amount to a big fat loss.
