View Full Version : It's the Spurs fault

We had this in a thread one time, so I'll say it. Everytime the Spurs win a title, Judson plays like crap. Since I hate the Spurs, I'll blame them and I really despise the Spurs winning when Judson loses. (I know it's not their fault, but I'll blame them anyway. :))

I sure am glad I'm deployed and don't have to see that horrible offense. I'm competitive and would be a LOT more vocal if I was watching them waste the whole year in a year that they could've won a title if things fell in place. They have a stud on offense and a good defense, but aren't getting it done. Your guess is as good as mine about whether or not they pull it together.

I'm not giving up and I'm just as combative as ever. I am highly upset they're trashing the whole year, though!

SV was the better team tonight. I guess Judson losing half of their coaching staff and some of their talent to Wagner is starting to show. The Judson players just haven't grasped this new offense that the new coaches are trying to impliment. The QB has no time to throw and the RB's have nowhere to run. The offensive line might as well not be on the field, their blocking is atrocious. I don't know if they can fix everything by next weeks game. I can only hope.

How much is the line affected by Perez's continued absence? It seems like he's done when you read between the lines.

wide-e-wide.........if we get even 2 more titles with Duncan we will be a memorable team........if we get 6, then Duncan ties Jordan....

The Spurs didnt join the NBA till the 70s....and did struggle as a small market team for over a decade. Then came David Robinson.....since then the Spurs have been a legitimate contender year in and year out.

Also, the Spurs are a class organization from top to bottom and the players and staff do wonderful things for the city of San Antonio. As long as they remain a group that prides themselves on class and community relations, they will be revered highly here in SA....

Oh...who could forget David Robinson...
the first female to ever dunk in a game.
And he is a Navy grad....sheesh
That dude was the weakest center in the league for years...and
the Diesel exposed him too many times to count...
evidence was when Robinson was quoted as saying " I don't know why Shaq doesn't like me...I never did anything to him...besides try to be his friend"

after that I lost all respect for him...what a b...

Sorry I hate the Spurs...

I'm an aggie fan (don't EVEN start with the baylor jokes) and I was hootin and hollerin for Texas all trhoughout Ohio St. I have nothing against Converse Judson to; pretty much the only team I have a problem with west of Houston is Smithson Valley for obvious reasons.

First of all why people would hate the spurs for being a class organization is beyond me, we need more teams like them and more players like Tim Duncan (dosen't talk smack and still plays like an MVP; anti-Ron Artest). Second of all I hope to God this isn't a passing of the torch situation. Look I dunno alot about basketball, and if you're comparing Shaq to Robinson then it's a toss up they're both excellent world class players.
Personally Between the two I think Shaq has had a better career and has meant more to his respective teams than Robinson has to the spurs (remember Robinson transformed San Antonio into a championship city, Shaq transformed Orlando, LA, and Miami into championship cities)
However one cannot call David Robinson a "lady" as he has a wife and 3 children.
And when you said soft did you mean soft as in 1995 MVP, 1992 defensive player of the year, 1990 rookie of the year, #16 all time in blocks per game, #19 all time in blocks, 71 pt's in one game in 1994, 10 time all-star, and 3 time olympian.
Because if thats what you mean when you say soft then yes, he is very much soft.

Judson probably makes the playoffs just by looking at the numbers. The defense isn't going to give up many points and a bad Judson offense (by their standards) will still score enough to win games in district. They need a LOT better offense in the playoffs, though.

There are 3 schools of people who root hard against the Spurs:

Casual fans who want excitement and the Hip-hop And 1 crowd who don't like fundamental basketball.

Fans of other teams who can't beat the Spurs.

People like me who've been exposed to the San Antonio fans and media and want to puke because of it. If you listen to sports radio/TV/paper in Houston and Dallas, you can't even come close to understanding how bad the sports media is in San Antonio. It's atrocious when it comes to the NBA. By championship Cities I meant Championship Caliber cities. Ie. San Antonio was pretty much nothing until Robinson arrived. LA began wringing off championships left and right once Shaq got with Kobe. Now that Shaq has gone to miami that city is now all of the sudden the favorite to represent to East in the finals.

How much is the line affected by Perez's continued absence? It seems like he's done when you read between the lines.

The line is affected A LOT by Perez's absence. If you watched the game and saw Dimando pull out on that reverse, you will see why Adolph is important. All I can say is that about Perez is that you will see him playing within a few weeks.

Shaq plays basketball, nah, he plays charge ball. Not too much skill or finesse in his game. Would love to see him shoot from outside like Duncan or Robinson or Jabbar. No, that would just make his game that much more unglier.

First off -- Judson is not over-- there is too much there for them to be over. This might be a bad year but they are far from over. - One thing about Judson is the school both benefits from and is negatively affected by being in a military town with kids moving in and out all the time. They will be just fine. Randolph is there and so is fort sam -

Wide - first off I am a Celtics fan too - the 80's Celtics - I am still a Celtics fan but I can't stand even one player on their team right now- they are terrible - We - well especially you will be waiting a long LONG LONG LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time before you get another title and hang another banner in the rafters. I became a Celtics fan in the 80's as a youngster watching LArry LEgend and Mchale - DJ and the pot smoking chief. - Great team -but I grew up and lived in San Antonio -and so I am a Spurs fan and it is funny you are gabbing about SHaq -- for a few reasons. - #1 - he isn't a Celtic - are you a Heat fan ? besides he is from San Antonio - he played his junior and senior season at Cole ( Ft. Sam) and the reason he doesn't like D-rob is because he said D-Rob disrespected him when he was here in highschool. he got his feelbads hurt - so who is the Bi---? #2 The Spurs will win or will at least be the favorites for a few more years and the only good thing the Celtics have going for them is Danny Ainge in the front office.

#3 - Timmy - fundamental is the best player in the NBA and Ginobili is far from overrated - Dude has gold medals - NBA Championships - he should have a finals MVP from last year - he can lock down your teams best scorer and still produce on the offensive end and he will be an all-star this year.

PEACE !

Hey now, this is Lonny's Judson rant thread..no hijacking. It's amazing what yall can do with some of these threads discussion wise, I'm serious. Never seen an NBA-Texas HS Football discussion mixed before. Dangerous close to getting moved.

Lonny, I say give the Rockets a few more games before making too big of a judgement on what they can get done this year. Let's see how they respond. Sometimes, a game like the one Judson played against SV is just what a team needs in the long run.

Yeah, it's like a tsunami. I try to talk a little bit about football, but they suck me back into basketball.

I don't feel as bad about Judson's offense after seeing the stats so far. Perez coming back will help.

Hey, you know me. I always project ahead. Right now, it doesn't look good, but it might in 5 weeks.

Where would you move the thread to? It's not football and it's not basketball. :D

Judson has the athletes to be as good as ever. Give them some time to mesh with the new system, the new style and hopefully they will be fine. Do not let one game define a teams season. They played a very good SV team and lost. The Rockets will be in the play-offs. Do not know how deep of a run they will make, but do know it takes time for new coaches to introduce a new system to kids that have bben in the old one for the last 27 years.

It doesn't belong there either. It has elements of basketball and football. Maybe you can have a lost topic forum! :D

Perhaps I should read the whole thread before I post about two teams I know nothing about. First of all why people would hate the spurs for being a class organization is beyond me, we need more teams like them and more players like Tim Duncan (dosen't talk smack and still plays like an MVP; anti-Ron Artest). Second of all I hope to God this isn't a passing of the torch situation. Judson give it to ANY other area school besides the Smithson Valley Buzzkills, heck keep the torch for yourselves I'll be your biggest fan and be the first student/houstonian to be in your booster club.

Pawelek still in your night mares?! muhahahah

Sorry if I offended Spurs fan. I went off on a rant because I absolutely hate David Robinson. And no I am not a Heat fan...I actually hated Shaq for a long time...but after reading a few books about him...and really watching the guy play...He shut me up...and I had to come to terms with the fact that he is the best center in the league.

Sorry for hijacking your thread L2K...and again sorry Spurs fan...I overreacted...

Ah, the curse of the Spurs that was reversed this year. They pulled through!
