Is Garland finally living up to their namesake? Yall rent an Urban Meyer instructional video this off-season ;) ? Four TD passes tonight on 14-16 passing for the QB Hunter in 48-0 Owl win. Impressive. Didn't see Donta Sloan in the box score. Is he ok?

Opening up with the passing game will make this Garland team more and more dangerous come play-off time! Especially when Sloan and co. gets back on the field.
Wow!!!!!!

One game is nothing... We need to have this kind of passing game on a regular basis. Until that time, im never quite sure about the passing game. It can be hitting on all cylinders one night, and be horid the next... we need some consistancy!

Firston Sloan. He was going to miss the game anyway for disciplinary reasons for cheating on a test. When he failed English and Spanish (word is he just got careless and thought he could make the grades up), it made him ineligable. He missed tonight and will miss the next three games due to the fact that in the week he becomes eligable, we play on a Thursday. He will be back for the last two games and the playoffs.
As for the air Garland thing, yes it was nice to see an effective passing game, but about 10 of those completions were 5-8 yard hitches that the runner broke for 7-15 yards because Naaman gave it to them all night long. The other 4 or so were nice passes that looked very "un-Garlandlike", but let's hold off for a bit on the praise. South looked good against Lakeview last night, but Lakeview didn't really have anything on D to scare South, like Naaman didn't have anything to scare Garland.
The proof will be Thursday when Garland meets South and we'll see if they can manhandle South's D and make those plays like they did tonight. Garland's new QB, Hunter, is a nice little QB though and I must admit that he has the potential to be the best passing QB since the '99 championship QB.
KT, thanks for noticing us though, I hope this kid Hunter keeps improving.

That's my point...hence "Opening up with the passing game will make this team more dangerous come play-off time!"

Garland has been throwing the ball better since the DeSoto game. They will never be mistaken for SLC or Abilene, but they have some talented athletes who can get up and catch the ball, and they seem to have finally found a QB who can get the ball to them. This is the third week in a row that GHS has scored on a fade route in the corner of the endzone to Williams. Teams may have to respect the pass a little more, and that could open up the running game some.
Wooten and company did fine at RB in Sloan's place. We'll see how much we miss Dante against SG next week. With him, I think Garland would roll. Without him, it's going to be a close one. The Colonels seem to have found themselves a quarterback, too...

I know we looked good - but it is Naaman... How bout that pass to our tight end? I think thats the first time I remember a tight end pass in the four years I have been at Garland. I think we may use Voss Williams in real game situations this coming week - I know he is small but he hits the hole so quickly. And yes, Malcolm is a force to be reckoned with. Nice to see Jeremy Kennedy finally on the O-Line, he pancaked the few times I watched him.
Naaman is garbage.
