And Colerain thought they were the bomb after beating Lee this year?? LOL dumbazz yankees!! Lee is not 1/20th what they have been the last 3 years and it painfully obvious.

Haha, I remember Lee fans giving us a hard time about us almost losing to them last year, but now they know the refs screw visiting teams out of games.

OWENS WILL NOT ACCEPT THIS.....what happened to preston do you know centex????????Marcus is good he's just young as well as the rest of the team....but bottom line...owens won't accept this kind of game..........lee played a bad game thats all there is to say but congrats rockwall.......

I am so ashame right now, Lee not supposed to be playing like this and of course Coach Owens will not accept that at all!!! This is getting annoying 3 games losing and lost to a week Rockwall team so I am def. that Lee wasn't playing good enough. (I went to 3A Football Game Private School Brook Hill vs T.K. Gorman).

Sorry to rain on you guys parade....but the Lobos are a gigantic steam roller and they aren't slowing down next week.

It's almost a for-gone-conclusion, but I've seen Lee and Longview play, in person and......this will not be a pretty game for Lee. Regardless of preparation.

This, unfortunately, just isn't Lee's year.

BTW have you guys gone to Yappi tonight? They're saying Colerain deflated Lee's morale...that's why Lee is losing.

What a bunch of horse ****!

I voted for Lee to win this game in the poll thread a few days ago, but I had a sneaking feeling that Rockwall was going to play upset. They are a dangerous team if you take them lightly, as Longview did last year in their house. I knew it wasn't going to be a blowout because Lee is just NOT playing as good as last year. You can say that they lost three last year all you want, but Lee is NOT playing like they did last year. They could easily be 0-5 right now. I think we will find out who the true Lee fans are, and who is just a fair-weather fan. See y'all at Rose next Thursday. It could get ugly quick.

Vondrell had 248 yards, or so, on 12 carries tonight. Mon Williams was held to 103 yards. Williams did surpass 1,000 yards for the season though, but he was playing teams that were nowhere NEAR Longview's defensive capacity. Yes, they march down and score on us to begin the game, but after that the D clamped down and shut them out for the rest of the half. Horn scored again after we gave them a short field when we didn't put on 4th and 2 to begin the second half.

Should be a very interesting game next Thursday. I will NOT make a prediction, b/c I am not going to eat any humble pie on my part. I will just say that if Lee doesn't pick it up, they will get beat. Longview is clicking on all cylinders right now and Lee is just standing in the way. I do look for a clean, fun game though. It will definitely show the nation what it is like to play football in East Texas. They've seen DeLaSalle, Southlake Carroll, and now they get to see Longview and Lee duke it out like we have for so many years. If only they could've televised last year's game. THAT would've been a great showing.

If you guys go back to what I posted I said...

Tyler Lee 28
Rockwall 24

OR POSSIBLE UPSET!!!!

It was just like the Lake vs Pearland game tonight...the score was 7-3 until the last 5 minutes or so. I had said this game will be decided under 14 pts.
And it could go either way...but I thought Lake could win it. I was wrong but the score was still very close.

Lee, Lake nor Pearland are showing me much this year!

If Lee ain't good anymore then I wonder if some of the school district zone go back to John Tyler for football instead of going to Lee for football.

Jtate862003
10-01-2005, 12:08 AM
I dont htink it has much to do with zone...#1 losing your starting qb kills you...#2 the roster is young! But bottom line i think lee makes playoffs as 3rd team with Longview and Jt ahead of them....and i do not think lee will lose to jt......But i am also glad to see lee lose several games in a row...bc maybe it will bring those kids from last years state down to eartha little and make them not have big heads......they have alot of work to do....i do predict another loss for lee this week even tho i am a great lee follower and supporter just dont see them beating longview.......score prediction...Longview 42- lee 10...in fact the only team i see beating longview this year willbe slc.....

Division 1 State Champs

Spring westfield or Euless Trinity

DIVISION 2

Longview if they get past carroll

Wow...

I thought when I heard this score on the radio it was a mistake.

Rockwall beating Tyler Lee?

The question isn't what does this do for the Red Raiders, but what it does for Colerain/Trinity's reputation. Colerain thinks they are the shiznit for beating Lee, and Trinity's dominance is now being taken with a grain of salt. Schedule:

DeSoto: Down Year
Midland Lee: Down Year
Tyler Lee: Under performing
Coppell: Outmaned
Nimitz: One man team

Another upset I believe I heard on the radio:

Martin 34
Duncanville 8

jtate, all the playmakers from the state team are gone. the backups thought they were the shiznit and are now being brought back down to earth. i knew basically everyone on the team last year, and i know the kids that replaced them this year and their personalities. main difference? ego. BIG TIME. the starters last year in my grade did not think they were super ******, ie. cole, warren, ciron, TY, micah johnson, josh hill, walter, jon giles. none of those guys ever talked about how good they were and weren't stuck up spoiled kids. maybe you don't know preston or some of the kids this year, but they are pretty much the stereotypical spoiled kids who think they are the biggest things since sliced bread. i'm not saying all because they have some really good players that don't think this way, but notice i said "some", and it's honestly the truth.

what they don't realize is that the defense is slow, undersized, and play soft. they've got a few good guys in uzzell/cuba, but overall it's just sad. i can tell you from playing with guys from the state team in a lot of sports from elementary school up to senior baseball and soccer etc. they were the most competitive group of guys i've ever played with, and a lot of them were OUTSTANDING in just about ever sport they competed in. TY in middle school ran a kid over and the kid did a BACKFLIP. all those guys played with each other and were friends and dominated since middle school, so they just clicked since the first year they played together at lee.

but yeah main difference this year is speed, size, and playing style. losing ciron and giles hurt the offense big time, giles quit because he knew this team wasn't going to be any good, he's a senior this year. that dude is big and could lay a huge block when they'd go behind ciron. imagine jason williams behind giles and ciron like last year, how many yards did TY have again? HUGE amounts. made defenses look ********. it sucks because last years team looked like vets and this years team looks like they're all confused. i'm going to say lee won't even finish .500

the hilarious thing about tlee's demise is that coldrain isn't getting any credit for whipping the 50th best team in texas. with every loss, and there are a couple of more in their future, coldrains stock falls.

Message to TLee -----

Belly-aching over guys that have quit or were hurt, and wondering "what if" or how good you'd be by combining this years team and last years team will get you to mediocre-ville in a hurry.

I fully understand voicing frustration - but you've got to move on.

Yea Jon Giles quit and he is also stuck up too....

I was told that the reason Giles isnt playing this season is mainly because of some serious back problems. I cant see the kid not playing because he "knew" this team wouldnt be good.

I think it was more that some medical "experts" advised him that football wasnt the best sport for his health. :)

Also TLee. Everyone that follows Texas football and East Texas football knew that Tyler Lee had some questions mainly on defense. They lost alot of experience mainly in the D-Line and LB core. Speed was also a question mark for this team.

It just looks like some of those question marks have panned out and this is going to be somewhat of a rebuilding year overall.

Tyler Lee still has some very nice athletes. Heck , they always do. But, the overall "Team Play" isnt there for this team.

I still think they have a shot at the playoffs. Some big games still to be played. Coach Owens is probably going to sit out P. Hill for the Longview game ( already getting ready for the big "L" in that game) and resting players for the "gut check" games after that with the Mesquite teams and JT. The battle is still for the 2nd and 3rd spots and Tyler Lee is still very much in the hunt.

people, let me be the first to say----i will not take this lee team lightly....these guys have nothing to lose....they will be "gunning" for Longview and giving 110% to pull off the victory......don't rule them out just yet...i seem to remember that they had 3 losses last season as well and won the state title.......yea, Longview looked great last night..one thing i don't understand about us------why don't we use one of the state's BEST running backs more often??? Vondrell is not getting enough carries during the game!! it's ridiculous!! if he was given the ball more, all of these games would have been over way before they already were......i saw some crazy calls last night on 3rd and 2, 3rd and 3,---etc.....maybe that's why i'm not coaching, i guess??? i would use him a heck of alot more than we are......plus, i guess it doesn't help that the second string is playing the entire 2nd half of every game......one good thing, 2nd string is getting alot of playing time--makes us even deeper than we already are..............people were laughing last season when Rockwall gave us a scare.....it's not too funny now, is it??? those guys are really better than everyone gives them credit for......they may be the 2nd or 3rd team going to the playoffs---maybe even the 1st???? i've seen crazier things happen.........................

bhs6 are you saying Trinity has a soft schedule????? Wake up we had one of the toughest non districts schedules in the state!! Bleedgreen, I don't care if Vondrell has 200 yards every game this season. The TEAM is playing as just that. They are not selfish. They are not one-dimensional. There are too many weapons on the Lobos this year to give it to JUST one runnin back. Yeah, Vondrell had an amazing game last night, and I would like to see it every week, BUT all I want is the win. I don't care if we win by one point or a hundred, a win is a win.

This is a special team this year, and the fact that McGee is not the ONLY playmaker on this team shows. He gets enough carries to put the game out of reach. You have to cover him, Ivory, and Freeman from running. Plus, you have to keep Freeman in check from passing the ball, either to the backs or the receivers. We've kept the defenses guessing all year.

King has done a good job coaching these kids and the team. He took the blame for the 7 points being scored by Horn in the 3rd after he didn't punt the ball. He reflects this team. This team is not selfish, they will stand up and make a play whether their on the 1st string or 3rd string. It's about the TEAM, not one player.

bleedgreen
10-01-2005, 12:22 PM
totally understandable, Lobo9498.....i, personally, would like to see him get the ball a little more......i have no doubt that they are playing as a well-oiled machine.......

If you read this thread i did not see one person from tyler on here making excuses for last night. I saw people admitting they didn't play to potential and lost a game they definatly shouldnt have. I just hope that Lview thinks they are going to kill us like you think and get blind sinded by a pissed dog next week. I know you are pissed we went to ohio, but get over it and worry about your panthers who have a tough schedule ahead of them.

I'm not dissing on Lee, just observing someone's post. If Lee doesn't get it together you will get killed by Longview - they run the ball just as well as Trinity. I hope you guys get it together, I'm a Tyler fan - both schools - but, again, the time to get it together is right now and I know you know that.

FavPack, we do have to turn it around now. I am a little nervous about Johnson getting his 1st career start against lview, but the real pressure lies with the defense. They have to play the best they have played all season or lview will run all over us. I am hoping that they will play inspired now and realize this district is going to let us have a free ride back to the playoffs to defend our title .

Red Raiders, I'd say he wasn't putting the team down so much as seeing the writing on the wall. I understand you want to support your team, but sometimes you have to look and be objective. Are they REALLY as good as last year's team? Are they anywhere close to that? I guess we'll see how they handle Longview on Thursday. IF they give us trouble for 4 quarters, then they MIGHT have a shot of making the playoffs. Otherwise, it will be a long night, and a long season for the Lee team, and fans.

Years like this give the fans a test....are they true fans, or are they just band-wagon/fair weather fans? I wonder who will have the bigger crowd Thursday? It would be a shame if the Visitor's side had more fans than the Home side. If the Home side isn't packed out, then you can probably get an idea of who were just bandwagon fans, and who the true fans are.

The year after Longview went 14-1 and lost in the state game, they went 6-3 and didn't even make the playoffs. You can't win them all every year. Good luck to Lee on Thursday....it shoudl be an interesting game.
