it was bound to happen the minute they left that state.
I know a coach from that area...he said Independence is great for up there but an average team in Texas

Average, lol. Anyone that watched that games, knows they were anything but average. Definitely would be a top 10 team in Texas the way they execute and with the athletes they have. Imagine Carter or Cedar Hill running a well executed spread. Would they have that streak in Texas? Unlikely, but I'm sure many around the nation who have occasionally seen Carroll play on TV don't think they would have that streak in their states either. I'd say, if that game was in NC or neutral Independence wins that game going away.

Good post. 5 years ago if you would have said a 5A team in Texas would go on and win 79 of their next 80 people would say impossible. Never in Texas would that happen, there's just too much depth.
Credit needs to be given to anybody in any class in any state that can put together a streak of 108 consecutive games without a loss.

Speaking for myself, the issue I had with Big I's streak is the way their coach openly coveted it. He has always rubbed me the wrong way for some reason. As far as the team & the talent at Independence, both are first rate. They should be ,though, as their system is real close to open enrollment for their county. The 108 is impressive, no doubt about it. One of the best offensive systems I've seen in watching these national games, great rhythm & execution.

So true.
Well, with that being said- feasible for SLC to make 109?

Not even close to it. The truth hurts.
