That's good news! I'm glad to see that he has been invited to play.

As far as our chances at the state title I would say that our defense is good enough but our offense has got to impmrove and establish a passing game. If we can score 21 in any game we should have an excellant chance to win with our defense.

The running game is pretty good even though we have struggled at times. If the passing game improves and we can start mixing it up a little more it could take the offense from a 4 or 5 on a scale from 1-10 to a 9 or 10 with a back like Henry! As it is right now, a good defense makes our running game struggle because they do not have to respect the pass. I think that the best thing that we could do in 3 of the last 5 games of district is work on the passing game! We have several receivers who can get the job done and a tight end that can flat out play. If the QB could get some game time "practice" in those 3 games against the weaker schools and get comforable and improve, then look out for the Buffaloes!!!!!

No, please stay one diminsional. I can't imagine having to defend a passing attack and James.

It would suprise me if they can make it to the final game. Judson & SV seem to be the only ones with recent sucess getting past Region III.

if rashard (starting QB for clemens) keeps throwing like he did against highlands for the rest of the season then they could go all the way...he's too unpredictable right now  ...but they'll always have a strong running game as well as a bad a$$ defense that'll take them deep into the playoffs

Has anyone ever noticed that during the preseason and regular season(before and after 26-5A) someone is always talking about this Clemens year. Look how good Clemens is. I think we are a legitimate title contender. So on and so forth. And then every year they either get knocked out of the play-offs early or get a couple of rounds. And then we have to hear if, but, shoulda, coulda, woulda. As far as I am concerned I get tired of the talk. They need to go ahead and prove they are this great team that they always talk themselves up to be and then I as along with many other faithful football fanatics could buy into the hype. But until the Bluffaloes get it done, all it is, is talk. Put up and I will shut up BLUFFALOES  !!!

2A actually, but I know enough about the Buffs to rule them out as a title contender.

I've noticed and Clemens backers have never said if, shoulda, coulda, etc. We accept defeat and are gracious in our victories. Clemens has a good team - will they win state - I don't know... time will tell. But please don't talk about Clemens talking smack - there are severall teams in 26 5 that post more shiaat than we ever. This topic was about a SA player getting some recognition (well deserved) and you come up with this

Bucky, you sound like you have a real belly ache for Clemens. What's the matter, did we knock your school around in the past and or you just don't like us? I don't talk any smack about woulda, coulda, shoulda, and neither do any of the other Clemens backers that I know. Why don't you just tell us who your coaching for and maybe it would make it a whole lot clearer why Clemens is giving you such a big belly ache! If I was to guess about it, I'd say that you coach an 8th grade or freshman team, because if you were on the varsity level it would completely shock me.

There are only two 5a teams in the area that hold a winning record against Clemens in the last five years and they are Judson and Roosevelt so I would bet that you don't coach at either of those two schools or their middle schools. It has to be at one of the other area schools that have had a bad time playing us.

Yes, last year we did take an early out from the playoffs thanks to our neighbors down FM 78. That was by far the worst A-- Whoopin that Clemens has taken in the last 15 years or more. But the year before we went 5 rounds deep and our last year in 4a we also went 5 games deep. So if you are not a math teacher also, that's 8-3 in our last three trips in the playoffs! I'd say there are many teams that wouldn't mind being 8-3 their last three trips in the playoffs, wouldn't you? Their are many teams that would settle for 7-3 in their regular season!

I think you are wrong on your selection. But you can try again. I did not say what year I won it. I did win it as a coach. But you need to try another district when you guess. But let me take a guess at what you do. You probably graduated from a school that has had marginal sucess. You probably spent more time taking players water, than actually playing. You spend alot of time on the computer, so you have no life. You are probably recently graduated and presently going to SAC or you are single mid-twenties single guy. You live your alter life through the marginal sucess of the Bluffaloes. Just taking a stab at it. Am I right?

I can tell you without seeing the Buffs play for one second that they have no chance at a state title. Henry was impressive as a sophomore, and I am sure he is awesome as a senior. But without better coaching and better preparation for top talent come playoff time, Clemens will not be a threat to win the title.

See, you really don't know much about the Buffs after all. We have a new coach this year for the first time in 23 years! He is very fiery and has gotten the kids very excited.

Yes, Henry is better than as a sophomore, bigger, stronger, faster. And as far as talent goes, we have plenty on both sides of the ball!

You are right on at least one of your guesses. I did graduate from Clemens and if you call not winning a state title yet marginal success, than I guess that's correct also. Never carried anybody any water except myself. I spend about two hours a day on the computer at work (doing work) and about 30 minutes at home reading your sparkling comments! I type quick, so I don't have to spend as much time as some writing my posts. So if 2 1/2 hours a day is a lot, then I guess you are correct again! I am in my late 30s so I guess 20 years since graduation is not considered recent? I don't live my entire alter life thru the Buffaloes "marginal" success. I just enjoy HS and college football way more than the pro game. I would put camping, hunting, fishing, and taking vacations with my family in front of keeping up with Clemens football.

I really don't care where your ring came from to tell you the truth. What I'd like to know is what I stated before about you coaching an 8th grade or freshman team somewhere. That must have been a pretty close guess since you didn't have a comeback! LOL

What area do you hunt? I am hoping to go to my ranch this Sunday morning and taking my son hog hunting. I just checked my video camera at my blinds and the hogs are showing up every morning about 7:15. Time to make the bacon.

We have a place 23 miles south of Ozona. We are hunting on 4,000 acres of a 13,000 acre ranch. We are just getting it built up now and are in our 4th year of feeding protein. What a difference this year! I have pictures of about 25 different bucks in the 2 1/2 to 6 1/2 range. I'm going to hunt hard for one of the 6 1/2 year old 8pts this year. He's 21 1/2" wide! He's pretty heavy horned but will only score between 125 and 130 as he lacks tine length! Only 8" G2s and 6" G3s. But he'll make a good mount and he's a good one to get out of the herd! We have tons of beautiful eights, nines, and tens that will be really nice 130 to 150 class deer in 2 or 3 years. We do not have any hogs, just a few javelinas and enough turkeys to call them a pest! I don't miss the hogs one bit as I hunted south of Hondo for five years and we were totally overrun with them! Four of us killed between 75 and 100 every year and they just got thicker each year!

Where is your place at?

bubbacoach
10-04-2005, 11:06 AM
Between Hondo and Bandera. We used to not have any hogs, but once we got them there was no stopping them. We have them everywhere now.

All I can say is shoot them, trap them, whatever and when you think you have them thinned down, kill twenty or so more! Once you get overrun with them they will really make hunting a drag. Ours were so thick that they would root up the feeders and feed areas along the roads and stink everything up so bad that the deer wouldn't even come to them anymore!

The only good thing about them is they are good on the table! If you haven't done so yet, take the backstraps out like you do on a deer and butterfly them. Then batter them up and chicken fry them!!!!
