Father, we come to you in the name of Jesus, thanking you for our many blessings. We are thankful to live in a free country where we can enjoy highschool football, and all it brings to our communities and relationships. Father we ask your blessings over all of those traveling to and from the games this season, and pray your protection over the players as they do battle with their teams for victory. We pray that you are glorified in the lives of the students, parents, and fans as we move into this season filled with hope and excitement.
Thank you again for who you are and all you've done for us. We trust your divine will and will give you the glory always.
In Jesus Name, Amen

And that's something that I think should change. This country after all was founded on Godly principles not on Alla or Budda or Josheph Smith principles. And so as such we shouldn't have to soften or tone down our beliefs for them. I wonder if any of them ever stopped to think that by not allowing us to pray openly that they are in fact infringing on our religious rights? I pray a prayer like this every night of the season not just for my team or its fans, but for every fan and every team across the state. It's sad that a high school football game is about the safest place you can go these days without having to worry too much about your safety.

I always wondered why it pissed off the atheists if a prayer was said before a game. If they don't believe in God, go to the concession stand or buy some ear muffs....heck I'll buy the ear muffs for you:rolleyes:

You are so right. I always pray for my boys when they run on to the field. I'm always concerned about their safety and remember a guy from Galena Park HS in my days that was paralyzed from a clipping during a scrimmage. It has never left my memory. Great post that was started!
