Ole Miss is not that far removed from losing two in a row to Texas Tech--with Eli Manning at the helm. They've gone way,way down hill since then and Ed Orgeron is on the hot seat.

Unless it's a dramatically better Rebel team than the current version (or a dramatically worse version of UT, which is much less likely), the only thing awesome about this series will be the co-ed flesh in the stands. Although that alone is truly awesome.

We'll see how Ole Miss looks when they play Mizzou this year. After last years butt stomping that Mizzou put on them I'm not really expecting much this year but it is a different season.

I think that Mizzou win was the biggest out-of-conference win for the Big 12 last year-or one of them...Must be why you've mentioned it 50 times already....:D

I think Texas playing Ole' Miss is great myself....Will help/benefit both schools ....

I think it will also benefit both schools... Texas needs to tap into SEC country to go along with our Texas kids... SEC country has some crazy sick athletes... I think Texas is weak in recruiting the SEC states and scheduling this series will only help... like I said I was hoping they would schedule Georgia instead but Ole Miss will be just fine

I don't think Texas wants any SEC kids on their roster much, but you make a good point...:)

Also,

9/30 vs. *Georgia (9-4) L 9 14
10/14 @ *Alabama (6-7) L 23 26
10/28 vs. *Auburn (11-2) L 17 23
11/18 @ *Louisiana State (11-2) L 20 23

Ole Miss was 4-8 last year, but with a couple of breaks could have possibly won a few more...

Anytime someone in the SEC schedules a team like a Texas that's great news for the conference...

I would rather see Ole Miss get pounded by Texas than see Ole Miss schedule Northwestern State (non-IA)....

AND, I may be a bit of an SEC homer, but Ole Miss on a Texas schedule looks better I would think than a Sam Houston State (non-IA)...

Who knows how good Ole Miss will be then....BUT, if Texas beats a 8-4, 9-3, or even 7-5 Rebel team it just may be the game that gets Texas in Title game according to what other team's schedule's look like-never know...

Ole Miss was 10-3 in 2003...

It's a Win-Win for both....
