As a Bear, this is difficult. The TCU QB Andy Dalton was the QB for the Katy Tigers in 2006. I graduated in 2006, and rooted for my tigers. now my Bears are playing Dalton's Frogs. I want the bears to win :) but I want Dalton to have a killer game. This being said. Sic 'Em!!

Did Dalton earn the starting QB keys for TCU ?

So you beat #4 Texas, and then go on to lose to BYU and Air Force....Laughable.

TCU goes 10-2, but their loses are to BYU and Texas.

Yeah. There were a few articles in the Ft. Worth Star Telegram last week about it. Give me 11-1 for the Frogs. That defense is going to be nasty. Sorry Baylor, you got no chance.

TCU gets no respect....

Didn't they push Oklahomer around in 2005?

I believe TCU give Texas a pretty tough battle.....Texas just alittle too strong this year though...

TCU has really developed a fine program. They've been quite successful for several years now so I would think the slow to come around, national media will begin getting a clue soon. They are becoming proof positive that you can win big without the huge recruits. If you are in a talent rich state and focus on you own backyard good things can happen. I'm not sure they'll have enough to knock off the Horns this year but it helps that the game is early in the season because Texas has some question marks.

Actually, TCU didn't push OU around. OU was led by QB-Thompson and had 305 total yds, while TCU was led by a 5th Year Sr (Gunn) and gained 340 total yds. Not a huge difference. QB-Thompson was 11 of 29 and 1 INT/1 fumble. The fumble by Thompson, at the end of the game (4th qtr), set up the go ahead win. OU had a pretty young team, with 8 returning starters. They were overrated, to begin with; ranked at #5. TCU was simply underrated. Hey, it happens.

OU finished the season 8-4 and TCU finished the season 11-1, with a fluke loss to SMU. All of OU's losses were to ranked teams... Texas, TCU, UCLA and Texas Tech (controversial).

TCU doesn't get the respect they deserve and I would love to see them finish the season with 1 loss, a conference championship and a solid Bowl opportunity against a highly-rated opponent.

Well, I guess SEC People look at game results alittle different..

While Peterson, the Heisman Trophy runner-up as a freshman last year, was held to 63 yards on 22 carries, TCU's Tye Gunn threw for 226 yards and a touchdown and Robert Merrill scored the decisive touchdown on a 2-yard run with 11:56.

I would say TCU pushed Oklahoma around and pushed Peterson around also...63 yards?...Somebody pushing somebody around on Defense...TCU may not have pushed the ScoreBoard around, but they pushed it around enough to win...

The next week against Tulsa..

Peterson ran for 180 of his 220 yards in the second half and added three touchdowns as the 18th-ranked Sooners avoided a second stunning loss by beating Tulsa 31-15 Saturday.

TCU just a better football team than Oklahoma in 2005 and 2006 truth be known...

I would say a freshman-led team that (that returns 8 starters) vs the Senior leadership of TCU, in 2005, only managed 35 more total yds and won on a fumble, that was recovered inside their own 10 yard line. A 17-10, last minute win, isn't pushing anyone around. JMO.

Also, I would argue that TCU definitely was not better than OU, in 2006. They barely beat Baylor (17-10) and Texas Tech (12-3). Yet, OU scored 34 pts against Tech and 36 pts against Baylor. And by the end of the 2005 Season, I would've put OU on the field with TCU and had a good feeling of coming out with a victory.

No need to argue the point, TCU is definitely a very good ball club. If they play even decent against Texas, I'd put them on the field with any team in the Nation.

Bowl projection-- a legit shot at an at large BCS bid. Start hoping now that there isn't an undefeated non-BCS team out there. Hawai'i and Boise are your enemies right now.

Lol, I concur. By the way, Peterson's high ankle sprain may or may not have had something to do with his poor performance that day. They also did not have a stable QB situation and switched in the middle of the game.

I still haven't picked a winner for the TCU/Texas game, because I can't. However, I will live by my prediction and say that the game will be decided by 7 points. If TCU can run the ball consistently against the Horns, then the Horns will be in trouble. But, for some strange reason, I gotta feeling that this game will depend on how good the Horns secondary plays. Of course the Frogs are going to try to go with their bread and butter, smash mouth offense, but if I'm Coach Patterson, I may try to go to the air a few times against the Horns secondary. A little play action here and there once the running game does get going.

Andy Dalton will blow it out this week against Baylor, and TCU/TX will be hyped over the top!!

TCU will lose to Texas and I'm guessing they will have their average "sleep game" where they dont come to play and get beat. Probably someone like Utah might bite them.

I see them probably losing two games this year.;)

TCU is where Texas was about 7 years ago. They have a nice 1 deep but the 2-deep is a work in progress and that's what will get them beat against a team like Texas. Texas has too much depth for them.

Plus, I dont see the youngster Andy Dalton beating Texas this year either even though I think he'll end up being a very good QB for TCU.
