Surely you've all heard about it. Boone Pickens outrageous donation of 165 million (that's not including previous donations) so I thought I'd show you what's going on here in Stillwater.

I apologize in advance for the size of some of the pictures. I'm not a tech guru and couldn't figure out how to make them smaller.

Here is a couple pictures of Boone Pickens Stadium (then named Lewis Field) back in only 2002, before Boone's donation. Yes this is a college stadium in the 2000s! Disgusting, I know.

Here is a few pictures of Boone Pickens Stadium in 2005 after Phase I of the renovation, before the West Endzone project broke ground. Quite an improvement over only 2 years!

And now here is a rendering and a current picture of the final phase of Boone Pickens Stadium. The WEZ seating will be open for the 2008 season, and the luxury suites will be open in 2009.

This 'brand new' facility accompanied with the construction of the Sherman Smith indoor practice facility:

And a brand new 'Athletic Village' with completely new facilities and stadiums to be completed within the next 5 years.

Maybe now some of you can begin to understand why more top notch talent is heading to Stillwater. And the money isn't just in athletics either. All over campus there are additions being made. Soon OSU will be one of the finest campuses around.

Nice job - glad a couple of LP'rs are there to see the house built. Amazing how high schoolish that place was 6 years ago.

That is an amazing stadium, moreso because it's come so far in the last 5 years.

Eh. You'll win my respect when your students tear down the goal posts and throw it at the opposing fans.

Maybe when we beat Texas this year we will...

You might want to go ahead and do that during the pregame because if you wait until after the game, you'll be very disappointed.

Indeed, if you do beat Texas, you will earn the respect of many. Good luck on that one though ;)

I can hear the reporter now

"What is that?!? Students are rushing the stadium field! Hundreds...no, thousands! They are going for the goalpost, the goalpost! THEY ARE TEARING IT DOWN! AAAAHHHHH! The game hasn't even started yet and they are taking down the goalpost. What a fan base. This is clearly the most miraculous thing I have EVER, I repeat EVER, seen in sports."

Some mighty cocky 'Horns fans out, with yet a down to be played yet.

I think that Okie State could be a trap game for UT this year. Looking at it objectivley, I'd give the Cowboys a better shot than the Ags this year at toppling the 'Horns. I think the Cowboys are going to be good for one big conference upset this year.

Your "thinking" is slow at best. OSU has been a trap game for UT for years. Your "thinking" might have been insightful 4 years ago. ;)

I'll pull some strings. Consider it done.

Still could be a trap game...Okie Lite is going to line up the best talent they've had in years. It's going to be a night game in Stillwater. Texas has fallen behind there before, to lesser Cowboy teams. Okie Lite, right now, is easily one of the two or three toughest games on the schedule for the Shorthorns.

At risk of pouring gasoline in this flame...I've been calling an OSU upset of Texas all off-season.

lol, that would be great to know that I inspired something. I'm going to take your word for it that it will be done.

If anything I'll take it upon myself. Watch out for a random student running down the field jumping on the goalpost.
