This should be very interesting. I pick Trinity due to theirs size, speed, and history. I saw them Saturday and came away impressed. They are ahead of schedule and should be very stable. The starters played very little and yet they controlled the scrimmage well. The new quarterback has good sense and a good arm. He stays in the pocket well and can scramble. I expect big things this year. The new linebackers were very impressive with their size and speed. The defense is just plaing mean and good. Robert Griffin is a "man-child". It will take double and triple teaming to keep him in check. Platooning against him might be the only answer.
It should be a really good year.

Any news on coach Shipley's progress at Coppell? He had a great program at Burnet.

:D I love the way he has been described in the newspapers as "big, even by Trinity standards". I once stood next to him and found myself looking up and up and up until my head was way back---like you would when standing next to a tall building.

they had a picture of him tackling a permian runningback last year, and his bicept was bigger than the permian's runningback's leg. the rb was pretty stocky.

How did you like the 3rd string QB, Ryan Ivey? I thought he played a great scrimmage. If he is our 3rd string, then we are looking great at QB. All 3 are Juniors.

the queston should be, hows fuller at C'vill...
anyway...
My pick this week...is Trinity, I hate to say it, I dont know Shipleys offense and defense. I belive Coppells a good program, but to run with some of the best in Texas would be hard to belive...we'll see...Good Luck COWBOYS...lets get this season started already!!!!

With the stable of quarterbacks at Trinity, the next several years will be fun. It must be nice to be able to pick from so many players that are so equal. I refuse to jump ahead, but I think Trinity is ahead of last year at this time. "BUT", as we all know, anything can happen.

CC57,
Fuller is doing just fine at Colleyville. They played a scrimmage last Friday and in the final live two quarters against Flower Mound the score was 10-3.
They play Cedar Hill this week. Fuller is a great coach and he will do well at Colleyville. Peace to you while serving our country CC57!!

Tap the brakes a little...Fuller was an improvement over Ringo for sure, but great?

Hrm, as my coach for four years of my life, ive noticed he has a tendency to run the same plays over and over and over..."POP" yes he was a good coach, but he could win the big one...ever...nice guy though..great mentor to me...

I saw Robert Griffin tonight at the high school at the "Meet the Trojans."
HE'S GROWN - HE'S HUGE!!
I was sitting at floor level and I only saw one other player taller than Robert but Robert was BIGGER.

i went and checked out the scrimmage. i came away impressed with both teams. trinitys offense is going to be a monster when they get it all clicking. they are getting closer to that but not quite there. there defense did a decent job tonight. coppells offense moved the ball well against et defense but they could not punch it in. et's defense had a good goal line stand. coppell's defense held its own for the in some cases. the corners made some good plays on the ball and the receivers. overall it was a good scrimmage by both teams. there is still work that needs to been done but non district should help smoothe over things

Them Trojan boys will be just fine this year. And Coppell always has athletes. Just a matter of coaching IMO.
