Simple formula: Sports Illustrated ranked all 119 D1 schools. I simply averaged the rankings of every team in each conference to determine an overall rank for conference:
(Conference - Average ranking of all teams)
SEC - 32
Big 12 - 39
Big 10 - 42
Big East - 44
PAC 10 - 45
ACC - 45
Independents - 68
Mountain West - 71
WAC - 75
C-USA - 82
MAC - 87
Sun Belt - 105

It will be interesting to see how the Okie St vs Georgia and the Kansas St vs Auburn game shape out this week.;)

Well, I guess we'll see if the experts got it all right soon.
I think the Okie St vs Georgia game and the Kansas St vs Auburn game will be very interesting early season matchups.

Anybody else catch Cowherd ripping the Big II+X today? The guy was dead on. Some clown was trying to make the case that the Big II+X is better than the Pac 10. Collin promptly and correctly informed poor misguided listener that in the grand scheme of things right now, the Big II+X ranks just behind the Big East. How anybody can defend this pathetic conference right now is beyond me.
As of the past year or two and looking at this year..
1. SEC (by a mile)
2. Big Televen
3. Pac 10
4. Big East
5. Big II+X
6. ACC

The big 12 can't be taken seriously when The North is so terrible.
South has 2 good teams, maybe a third, and then 2 solid teams. Both SEC East and West are like that.
and I'm a Big East guy.

I dont know if Georgia is going to hammer Okie St ?? I actually think this game has the makings of being pretty close with someone pulling away in the 4th Qt. Pretty much like the Okie St vs Alabama Bowl game last year.
The Kansas St vs Auburn game will also be interesting ? If Kansas St can come out and score first then I think it's game on.

A list derived from rankings, which are someone's opinion to begin with.
I'm with the NCAA and BCS alliance on this one. No need to play the season.
To hell with actually playing it on the field championship/ playoff or otherwise.

Kansas St scored first, had plenty of 1st downs and even had the lead for 58 minutes.
They blew it at the end.. Too many stupid penalities cost Kansas St the game along with homefield for Auburn.
Kansas St needs to get a new LT because the kid jumped offside I think 5 or 6 times last night killing several nice drives for K-State.
