Not a bad return there by Mr. Jacoby Jones. I saw him against the Bears a couple weeks ago. He's a player.

The run game looked real good against the Cowboys and Schaub put up decent numbers too. Aaron Glenn looked lost at times trying to cover Andre Johnson. And I think Schaub was only sacked once.

They just don't have the talent yet. I remember the Cowboys winning all their preseason games (in 89 I think) and went 1-15. I see the Texans winning maybe 6 or 7 games. If they learn how to draft they will get better.

Then what does that say for the talent of the Cowboys? Both teams played their starters the whole first half, and Houston had a 21 - 6 lead.
The only bright spot that Dallas had was when Houston got caught blitzing and Romo hit T.O. for thier touchdown.

I'd say that too because it's true. In the preseason a win means more than most people seem to believe, but when you lose you always just say to yourself, its just preseason so loses don't hit as hard as the regular season.

I think every team goes by that philosophy.

slorch
08-26-2007, 07:24 PM
preseason is nothing but formalized practice.

That's one thing Jimmy Johnson continued from the ways of Tom was not focusing on winning the game, but practicing players in different gametype situations.

Last night's game is nothing to get excited about, unless it's about individual efforts like Jacoby Jones, or Mario Williams acting afool after finally getting a tackle.:D

as a pokes fan I was dissappointed in the O-line and secondary. i likes the skill positions and D-line/ LB play.

Two conclusions:

1) Schaub will be 200 times better than Carr.

2) No. 12 (James?) makes the team. Wow - what a third round pick. Tell me the last time JJ nabbed such an offensive talent in the third round? That's what I thought - he was too busy building a monument to JJ.

from what I saw last night, trading for shaub might have been the steal of the year, he will make texans fans forget about the guy who used to wear #8 and spent most of his time on his back, also the o-line looked alot better than they have before, the defense can get better, i think jacoby jones could be this years hester (maybe not the same team results or records), the running game can get better but other than that i have a good feeling going into this season, if the defense and running game can play like last night the texans could make improvements this year record wise, maybe 7-9 or 8-8 or even 9-7...probably no playoffs this year but they might not be far off
