Rockets may be minus 3 players Friday against SV, but none are a major loss. 1 sometime starter, 1 back-up and 1 from NO. Rockets are more than ready to enjoy a game of Texas High School football at its finest, Friday night.

Were they arrested in an ATF raid or did they all trip on a banana peel? What the deal?

Grades just came out, so I imagine it might be for that or injury.

I know exactly who it was, I know exactly why it was, but I can not say anything except that grades don't come out until Monday or Tuesday.

I wasn't going to mention this but since it has already been brought up, I figured I'd speak about it.

Anyone know the story on the Roosevelt players suspended? Was it for just the one game or the whole season?

I don't think the Roosevelt players are going to be suiting up the rest of the year. I saw on the news last night (channel 12 KSAT) they were invlved in some missing computers from the school. I'm not sure what's going on, but the principal, I believe they said, is even on paid leave over this. I hope our boys weren't involved in this!

It is unfortunate that we must always spotlight the negative things that athletes do. There are many quality individuals on both the Roughriders and Rockets that we should talk about instead. I know the dismissal of these players is key in the ultimate outcome of their team's success, but the team did not mean that much to them if they were willing to go out and screw up enough to get kicked off the team. Now they have cast a shadow over their team and program, because when an athlete screws up people generally reflect it on the whole program. The thing we have to remember and try to promote is there are so many more good athletes that do right and should be commended for it.

It's interesting that you say that because I posted the previous message before I read this. Your lawyer told you to not say anything, didn't he? :p

You are exactly right about how one or two bad apples makes the whole bushel look bad! It shouldn't be that way, but that is how it is. I hope the young men that did it get what they deserve and don't get off with a slap on the wrist. I know that all kids can and do make mistakes, but I know that by the age of 5 I knew better than to steal. I would not have been afraid one little bit what the authorities would have done to me, but I sure would have never gone home if I knew that my parents had found out. There is only one reason to steal and that would be to eat or feed your family. If you are stealing for any other reason and get caught, I hope they get the maximum penalty!

Furthermore, if this principal or any other person within the school was trying to cover it up and not get the authorities involve, I hope they never work in the Texas school system again!!!!
