I think the Lobos are right where they were expected to be. Although at the beginning of the season, I felt our secondary was suspect. They, along with the entire D have been playing lights out. Our goal though is in December. I'll tell you then if we got where we wanted to be.

We've been on the wrong end of close games I expected we would win.

That means you think he should be coaching this week. I'm shocked! I figured you hoped the hurricane took Colbert with it on the way through town.

Ditto!

Victoria would be good if Campbell played the BEST players. Too many politics involved with booster parents crying....yall know what I mean.

Victoria will suck until Campbell plays the best players.

I am no longer supporting the Vipers until he leaves (I have my reasons that I have posted on another board). I'll still read up on the team, but that's it.

He needs to be fired. He's so full of sh*t!

We both have to MAKE it to that point first. Everyone is penciling us in to meet up again. Anything can happen between now and then. We'll worry about playing Lufkin IF/WHEN we play them. Until then, I could care less about playing Lufkin. Mesquite Horn is on the plate right now.

Rita didn't want him. He is not really a man. LOL

Good enough that Lonny hasn't kicked 'em out yet. Thankfully we're still participating. :D

We're down to 103 teams and probably would've been below 100 if Houston had participated last week! PA Memorial was one of easiest outs in the first poll. I didn't have to even wonder about their chances. There's still hope for Madison. One of my theories is that if you have a chance to play a few playoff games, you might right a previous wrong and get on a roll.

Of course it's way to early to make any "greatness" predictions . . . BUT . . . 2005 SLC could be the best ever at SLC.

I'm almost laughing at myself for saying that but here are the reasons:

1. Best receiving corp ever. 8 guys can all play and 4 of them have been outstanding. No secondary can keep up with 4 very good receivers and 4 fresh ones waiting to come in.
2. McElroy is throwing well. He can't run like Daniel but he is becoming a better runner each week. He has been impressive the last two games. He has usually had plenty of time to throw.
3. The defense is statistically better than previous years so far.
4. Kicking game is good. Ortega is kicking kick-offs very deep and has kicked several long FGs (longest was 50 yards). SLC has found an adequate punter.
5. Running game is un-proven and is the question mark. They exploded for almost 350 yards in week four. Sophmore Newton was great. Offensive line was consistently opening big holes. The huge void left by Luna's departure hasn't been filled but they are moving forward.

The running game will be the key to whether my very bold predition will come true. One good rushing game does not make a season. I could be proven wrong in any given week, but I see the potential.

No doubt the team is not thinking like this because wins come one week at a time and there are 12 weeks of football left. However, this optimistic fan sees the potential but it's only potential at this point of the season.

your right, we improve every week, if the running game is great, and the passing stays "SLC" like this can very well be the best team liek you said, still have a while left, it'll be fun to see how things play out
