An overflow crowd of 92,138-plus fans attended the Crimson Tide's spring game Saturday, nearly doubling the school's A-Day attendance record and forcing university officials to start turning people away in the first half. That kind of turnout for essentially a scrimmage was yet another indication of how much Saban's hiring in January has stirred up a rabid fan base hungry for a championship. "It shows the passion that people have for the University of Alabama, and it certainly makes me feel great about being here as head coach," Saban said. The previous high attendance for an Alabama A-Day game was 51,117 at Birmingham's Legion Field in 1988.

It was nasty in B/CS the day of the maroon/white game, too. BTW, I recall reading somewhere that 'Bama, for the first time in recent history, didn't charge for entry for the spring game.

Well, it looks like 'Bama chose the wrong time not to charge for entry. 92,000 at a spring game? I'd have been charging for parking too!

Here's Baylor from a Waco-an point of view.

1. Waco in general sucks
2. Guy Morris can't recruit (not even from his own city!)
3. They are running an offense, when run best (tech), will not even win a big 12 title!
4. More people are excited for high school games in waco rather then a Baylor game the next day.
5. I could name some more, but I think I got the point through.
