USC Tailback Moody to transfer!
By Gary Klein
LA Times
August 16, 2007
The sophomore from Texas was the Trojans' second-leading rusher last season. But he said last week he felt 'forgotten' because of a number of injuries.
Tailback Emmanuel Moody, USC's second-leading rusher last season, will transfer to another school, several sources said Wednesday.
Moody is one of three USC tailbacks who appear on the regional cover of Sports Illustrated's college football preview edition. But amid continuing speculation that a 10-deep position group would cause one or more tailbacks to transfer, the sophomore from Texas was a no-show at practice and at evening team meetings.
Coach Pete Carroll declined to comment.
Moody could not be reached for comment, but he said last week that he "felt forgotten" coming into training camp because of an ankle injury that forced him to sit out the Trojans' last four games and a hamstring injury that caused him to sit out nearly all of spring practice.
Moody had looked good in the first week, but he suffered a knee bruise in Sunday's scrimmage at the Coliseum and did not practice Monday or Tuesday.
Moody did not attend Wednesday morning's walkthrough. Afterward, when most players retire to the dorms to nap, Moody walked the campus talking on his cellphone.
After the Trojans began practice, Moody walked toward the dorm in a T-shirt and shorts. Asked if he was off to see a doctor, Moody said he was going to fill out paperwork and would have more tests on his knee.
USC's tailback depth might have taken another hit on Wednesday.
Freshman Joe McKnight sprained his knee trying to block and retired to the trainers' table for most of practice. McKnight said he would be out the rest of the week.
"I'll be OK," said McKnight, who was fitted with a brace.
Freshman Marc Tyler, who broke his leg last season, is not practicing and sixth-year senior Hershel Dennis has been held out because of knee soreness.

It was inevitable! You can't have 10 Super-Prep All-Americans at RB and think that 9 of them will be cool riding the pine, while knowing they could start at many top programs in the country. How the hell they were talked into signing is beyond me!
That said....
...where does Moody end up??
Texas was high on his list, coming out... and once J.Charles leaves, it will be open competition for the TB position, most likely between McGee and Whitaker. I think Moody is better than both of them.
How about Georgia, Nebraska, TCU, Arkansas, Florida State or LSU?? Would it shock you guys to see him end up at a place like SMU or Baylor??
I've heard Ok State. Who knows though.

Don't let him go to OSU! They're getting a little too much of this Texas talent...

With Aaron Brown being a senior, and no certainty of who'll start at running back next season, it wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him at TCU. He already has to sit out a season, so he can spend all of that time getting healthy, and just come back next year 100 percent. Not to mention, TCU is a damn good competitor in D1 football, and it's also very close to Moody's hometown of Coppell. I'm pretty sure that Coach Patterson would love to have him.

That shocks me too. Either they didn't look at Rivals and the USC depth chart online or they were paid. Something's up to have 10 RB's on a team.
I've heard Ok State. Who knows though.
I heard it was likely going to be close to home in Texas. I say UT, A&M, or TCU.

My money is on TCU or Okie State, with TCU in the lead. TCU does a great job of developing RB talent, and he will likely come to campus as the best athlete on the team.
Okie State might be a possibility too, for much the same reasons, though the comp. will be greater up there.
UT and A&M...no way. I think he is better than both Whitaker and McGee, but with some years in the system, and the depth, he would just be splitting carries again. He'd be the starter, but like with J.Charles, Whitaker or McGee would play his Selvin Young nemesis.
A&M also has too many good young backs on the roster, plus the dude has pro ambitions....and Fran ain't the dude to play under.

TCU would be a nice fit, but OSU sounds good as well. Hopefully he doesn't feel as though he is too "high profile" to go to TCU.

TCU has gotten some damn good players over the years, but good GOD, not one this good. It would be HUGE if the Frogs got Moody. Great school, and a football program that gets better and better every year; those are things that could/should persuade Moody to suit up in purple and black.

TCU has gotten some good players over the past few years, but its hard to deny the recruiting class that OSU got this year, I wounder if that will help Moody decide?

This topic has popped up on a few threads but I'm happy to restate this. How would a Reid/Manuel/Bryant set look for the Cowboys next year? Me likes.:D

You're correct! OSU has one of the best recruiting classes around, but, you also have to remember that Moody wants to be the number 1 guy, and OSU already has a youngster in there at running back. But, on the other hand, Aaron Brown is a senior this season, and I don't think TCU has anyone to fill that spot for the 2008 season.

RB-Savage is a Senior, at Okie Lite. He spent his fr/so years at Mississippi Gulf CC and was a junior for OSU, last year. Moody will have plenty of opportunity to be the featured back, at OSU.
I like the idea of Moody landing in Fort Worth, at TCU, but RB-Aaron Brown is not a senior... he's a junior.

OOPS, my fault! I got my years mixed up on Brown, but I thought that OSU had a youngster in there already? I guess not!
Well, whether it be OSU or TCU, Moody would get a great opportunity wherever he goes.
