Ponder and the panthers are going to be really hyped about this coming up game, SLC are proabably thinking its going to be a walk in a park but im pretty sure there in for a big suprise. but well find out friday night!

i doubt you'll see much overconfidence in slc. they are well aware of what ponder can do, and consider cville as rivals, since they see each other in other sports as well.
a 3 td win is probably pretty accurate, 42-21 or thereabouts.

SLC will take them seriously just like they do every week. Yes, CHHS will be hyped.......for about 1 quarter, like all teams that play the dragons, and then reality will set in and they will not be able to play at the level the dragons bring to the table.

SLC doesn't take anybody lightly.

Anyone who knows anything about Dodge at all wouldn't even think that.

This has the look of a high scoring game, and if you have the guts to pick against Carroll in a shootout you are officially a braver person than me.

I guess anything is possible. If they DB's get physical with the WR's and limit the mistakes on offense and defense I think Collyville (SP) can make it a game. The first thing they have to do is come into the game emotionally ready and when reality sets in maybe they think they can play with SLC after all. Who knows but I want go against SLC yet

The emotion has to be controlled because that can also work against a team. I've witnessed that.

Be fired up and ready for the game of course, but not to the point you lose focus on disclipine, execution, playing a clean game, etc.

Hype is fun, but it still comes down to those 48 minutes of controlled chaos on the field when plays need to be made and the margin for error is air tight.

Your right about that KT2000. Last season when we played SLC we had too much emotion in the first half and played out of controll. Second half we dug in and played with emotion but we went about it in a much more controlled way. CHHS needs to execute and play defensive do not get in a scoring frenzy cause you will never win.

The funny thing is on this thread nobody is answering the question. Who would you take McElroy or Ponder. I will say the Dragons will win. I say Trinity is the only team that would make me think about who would win. Just too much over all talent.

But when just comparing these two QB's I will choose Ponder w/ his dual threat ability. Nothing against McElroy he is good just not as good. And yes I have seen both play. Of course that is why one is going to a DI school that plays for DI national championships and the other is going to a DI school that wants to play D I AA.

That SLC kid McElroy

I saw Ponder play against Martin, and he was really the highlight of the CHHS team. He is a great player, and a legitimate threat for big plays. But on the same hand, if games were decided by just the QB, we'd have a much different game on our hands. The CHHS team, in my opinion, doesn't have the discipline or the ability to not commit stupid plays and drop balls. If anything is going to take us down, it'll be a good team playing a perfect game with all the momentum. McElroy may not beat Ponder 1 on 1, but that's not how friday nights are played. With the better squad, I say McElroy takes both the game and the better stats. SLC by at least 2 TD's.

Mustang-Panther Stadium will be filled to the rafters. They are asking SLC fans to park at Dragon Stadium a mile away and take a shuttle to the game.

ive heard the same stories, my moms friends car got keyed at the state game, ive heard of people putting bologna on peoples cars, it peels the paint or some what, we took the dragon stickers off our cars of fear of getting them damaged, i know it happens, why people cant respect other peoples possesions, is beyond me

So clearly the winner of this matchup was McElroy. Not even an argument. There isn't too much talent on that team besides Ponder, but MC just all around played better.

There isn't too much talent on that team besides Ponder, but MC just all around played better. Not sure that I would say McElroy clearly played better; Ponder did have over 400 yds of total offense. The Dragons as a team won the game. Mac had a very nice game along with a host of others to make that victory happen.
