Why's everyone puttin down the Clemens Buffaloes. I mean we are the #1 team in the city, the #1 defense in the area and we're still gettin people tell us that we suck. Our offensive line had some problems in the first few games but lately we have stepped our game up regardless of our opponent. Im just tired of all this negative criticism. Criticize us if we ever lose which wont be soon.

Y'all are on a roll...keep proving the doubters wrong. Although if y'all and Reagan ever meet I do hope you lose though, haha. But y'all look pretty good....if I remember you all had a good defense and an equally good offense....good combination. Y'all will do well this year.

Teams always take alot of crap when they have built up their resume against far weaker opponents. The only way to shut people up is to just keep winning...the respect will come. BTW, we have you guys at #12 in the state.

It will come. Just win the first round of the playoffs because I think the winners of the 25 vs. 26 matchups go all the way to Regional finals in both DI and DII.

teams that dont get respect and are winning make it all the more better for them...remember in the middle of last season when IMac was rolling at about 4-0? and nobuddy even knew how good they were, i mean who was talking about them? they went to finish the reg season 10-0 (yeah i know they lost in the first round to DR in a close game but still) as of now the regular season record is 14-0

Nobody said you guys were bad, but you haven't shown anything to say you're #1 in SA. Your opponents have been putrid and you still have to figure out how to make up 30 points on Judson. I think you have a pretty good team, but I'm consistent in my belief that nothing you face in the regular season will prepare you to play at the level Judson will be at come playoff time. I still say you lost by 30 last year because of your schedule compared to Judson's schedule. It's like you played scout team all year and all of a sudden played varsity in the playoffs. You just weren't ready and this year is worse than last year.

The fact that every year (except for the years in 26-5A) Clemens has an outstanding regular season against subpar opponents does not mean you should get respect. You have got to do it consistently against good opponents before anyone will respect you. You cannot duck anyone. I know for a fact that when Clemens moved out of 26-5A Judson tried to schedule Clemens for a preseason game and Clemens declined. Instead the only team in the state that stepped up and filled that spot was Laredo Nixon. So don't ask for respect until you are ready to play ggod teams on a regular basis.

The funny thing about that is that Clemens claims they wanted to play Judson. I can't say who's telling the truth, but I'd lean towards Judson just because of the lack of quality opponents for Clemens. I can't bash Waco because they have been decent and Roosevelt is OK to play. Taylor, Austin High, and Holmes in previous years don't cut it. Even Laredo Nixon is better than those guys.

You have to give Clemens credit tho, who would have ever though that the teams that are currently on their schedule would end up being so weak now. Two years ago Waco, Roosevelt etc were very tough teams...so it seems logical to schedule them since they were so good at the time.

Keep playing the way you are right now but move the whole town as far North of San Antonio as possible!

Bubba - you hit he nail on the head, lets think about this for a minute. You say you want to play Judson in non-district and we all know Judson would jump at this in a New York minute just for the simple fact they would not have to travel many miles to play someone. So what does Clemens do they schedule Taylor , which is very average at best 4A school. I know they will stay #1 in the city the rest of the way, but lets be honest that should not happen that way. Teams like SV, Marshall, Judson, Madison, Jay are alll in districts that play hard games 6 of 7 weeks (sorry Lee). I wish Clemens the best of luck the rest of the way, but again it will be 1 and done in the playoffs.

People do need to lay off Clemens a little. They are a good team, and I'm sure they will go far in the playoffs if they make it past us.
But as far as it goes for being ranked good and not getting respect, its jealousy man. Thats all it is. Its people who are upset because you are ranked better than them.
I don't know how it is at other schools, but I'm sure its about the same: Ask any Varsity Football coach at Judson where we are ranked right now, and I bet they will tell you that rankings don't mean anything. To the coaches, every team is equal. We practice just as hard when we are about to face Nixon and Lee as we do when we are about to face Cove, P-ville, and SV.
The outcome of last years playoff game vs Clemens was because Judson was better, yes, but not as much as the score showed. Clemens had some injuries that held them down.

Just don't put too much faith in rankings....the first place team ALWAYS gets beat somehow. In volleyball last night, #1 got beat by #2. Just keep playing and show everyone you are the best......

There is no way in the world that Nixon is better than Taylor or Austin SFA. You cannot even compare the Laredo area teams to any in SA or Austin and I don't care how may regular season games they win or playoff games against other Laredo or Valley teams!

You just showed what you really know about SA area football, NOT MUCH!! SV, and Judson are good, But Marshall, Madison, and Jay, give me a break! Madison lost to SM already this year and the Northside district teams cannot compete with us, except on occasion! O'Conner had a good team last year and would have given us problems for sure, but there is not a team in that district this year that Clemens wouldn't dismantle! In 2003 we stroked O'Conner (the Northside district champ) in the region final. Don't even compare last years team to this one, because there is no comparison! Unless you saw Clemens play in 2003, 2004, and this year, you don't have any basis to make your opinion on. When we scheduled our four non-district opponents 2 years ago, Roosevelt and Waco were both top 25 schools, Taylor was a tough 4a school, and Austin SFA was on their way up. And you don't know who is telling the truth about who tried to schedule who between Clemens and Judson during the last re-alignment!
I see you have Texas as your address. Why don't you show where in texas you live? What team do you support, and have you seen all the teams you are talking about play this year to make these comparisons?

The funny thing about that is that Clemens claims they wanted to play Judson. I can't say who's telling the truth..
Maybe bubbacoach is the person who schedules games for Judson and he heard the Clemens voice say no personally, and that's what he means by, "I know for a fact..."
Because the version I heard was from the person who's closer to the Clemens schedule maker than anyone else could possibly be, "we contacted them several times about a game, but they never would commit so we moved on."
Like I said, unless bubbacoach was directly involved in negotiations, then all we have really is hearsay, with both sides claiming their sources said the other wouldn't play them. :D
It doesn't make sense that either side would be "scared" of playing the other. Clemens had long wanted to play Judson, mostly because of the Douglas thing. They hung well in district games with them and finally beat them in the last year of 265. Judson is Judson. They won 3 of 4 against Clemens in the 265. They've been lining up against the best in the state for decades now.
My guess is they couldn't work out some scheduling glitch, or neither was fully committed to it since they knew chances were high they'd meet again in postseason. Either way it adds more spice and fun afterward to say the other side wouldn't agree. Whatever the truth is, Judson got the last laugh last year. An extremely hearty laugh at that! :D

The rankings don't mean crap to anyone, period! You also hit the nail on the head about the game last year in the first round. But, I'll give credit where credit is due. Judson whipped Clemens worse than they've been whipped in 15 + years, and they did it on the field with a very good defense. They shut down our running game completely and not being able to throw a pass killed us! Hopefully our QB can get it done this year in the playoffs!

You must be talking about negative criticism in your area. Outside your area people know Clemens is winning and gets to the playoffs. Respectable.

I'm not aware of anyone disrespecting the Buffs. At least no more than usual. Clemens is better this year than last year, the defense is as good as 2003 but the offense isn't. We have a weak schedule but we also have a new head coach :D . All in all, we should do pretty good.
About the rankings, it is basically about who is undefeated and right now that is us. I don't think the newspapers consider anything else. If I were to rank the teams Judson would be number one because of last years playoff run and Clemens would be 2 or 3 along with Smithson Valley.

For a couple years now, I've thought Judson purposely didn't schedule teams they thought they'd play in Region 4 in the playoffs. That's not being scared and just not wanting to give away their secrets.
