well i sure did get ripped for taking spring over klein! klein actually doesnt return alot of staters. on offense theyll have 2 good offensive lineman a qb who cant throw, average rb, lss than average wr, and on defense theyll have 2 good lb and 1 de. the entire secondary will be brand new. yes, last year they had a great regular season. that has nothing to do with this year when only few starters return. and i know spring has alot of talent this year, jr qb k. mcneal will be a great dual threat. as far as the other teamsn obviousl westfield! kf is returning a ton of skill players and i think has shot at bating westfield. how can u not put klein oak in the list with the amount of speed and returning contributors they have back.

My prediction is that KF is gonna get spanked by Westfield, Klein Oak and Klein and they will finish a close 4th just in front of Spring. Actuallly I think Spring may edge KF out of the playoffs. Of course this is not the scientific approach to picking the teams like the above post... just my 2 cents.

I tried the Stat filled approach and I just couldnt make it work. So then I tried a historical approach. Looking at last year Klein was not supposed to Beat KF, Klein Oak or Spring on paper. So knowing that the game is played on the field I said to myself why did Klein beat KF last year when every indicator pointed to a KF win? Heart, Determination and Coaching. That is why KF never gets that far in the playoffs. KF most years has the best talent in the district period.

However that is just one mans opinion of the situation. And the game is still played on the field. Good luck this year against Westfield!!! We are both gonna need some luck in that game.

As I stated last year before Klein defeated KF and Oak. Both KF and KO has great skilled postioned players but they have nothing on the line. That is where games are won and lost. KF had one of the best looking D-lines I have seen in sometime last year, but Klein o-line spanked them. KO average 31 points a game, but Klein held them to 28 thus they won. If your excuse is KF was down after losing to WF, Well If that was a reason, Klein should have lost to KO after they lost to WF, but they didn't. This Klein team is the same team of Freshmen they destroyed the distict three years ago. I know players gets better and worst, but Klein has a mentle edge over. The distict will be between WF and Klein, KO third, KF will have to prove they can handle three disrict loss and still beat spring.:Music

KF has one of the best d-lines in the state! and for the other person saying KF had a downer after losing 7-6 to westfield, you know....klein losing to westfield 3-24 was probably not quite as devastating! and your point about beat klein oak after that loss, umm, klein oak didnt beat a single 5A team with a winning record during the regular season! im not saying klein will be bad, i think they will be one of the best teams to not make playoffs actually. i just think klein forest and klein oak bring back a tremendous amount of talent back and spring has alot of newcomers like jr qb kendric mcneal that will be big time along with 16 returning starters. klein honestly doesnt return alot. 2 good offensive lineman, one good de and one lb. nobody to throw the ball, nobody to catch the ball and an average rb in that disrict. all 4 secondary guys will be new. if you want more details than this let me know. i have quite a bit of research on my pick. i wasnt just pulling it out of a hat!

your right, coach labay is a great coach! and what returners exactly are you talking about? because when i was with coach labay the other day we discussed his entire team. hmmm, believe the head coach of the team or a fan......i love the fact that people like you are so involved in their teams, i often get caught up too when discussing my favorite teams! but klein was a very good team last year with horace gibson running the ball! he is gone and cj palmer is an average back in this district, no better. they dont have a qb that can throw and no wr's. all new secondary......klein forest returns a top 10 qb in the state as far as passing yrds go, an all-district wr, and deonte patrick who is just as good but was injured last year. secondary has an all district safety who had 106 tackles, a corner from the first place at state relay team, another safety that started partly last year, all 3 lb return, and 3 of four d-line. i really have nothing against klein, just dont understand your argument based on heart and determination! where was that against lufkin as they gave up 72? if you have any stats or actual logic id love to discuss this more. i like arguing my points, but only if you have actual stuff to back your own point up with, not just i like them alot and we will beat them!

So lets be real clear..unless you know something I dont know, you like me, are just a fan of Klein and Klein Forest. You probably Coach 7 on 7 like I do, you are involved with the teams like I am, so the whole I just talked to Coach Labay thing just wont work with me.

So lets stick with some facts. You are saying CJ and Nick Farley are average, we will see, time will tell. They were not at the level that Horrace was last year but neither was your returners. If your returners were so out of this world last year my point is valid. All the talent in the world and you still could not beat Klein. Klein Forest will always be average in my estimation.

Klein Forest would have been beat by Lufkin as bad or worse just like Klein because Lufkin had way more talent than both of our teams.

How do you know that our QB has not matured since last year just like your returners have. Is your off season that much better than Klein? Klein has a top ten in the State Oline anchored by one of the top Olinemen (if not the top) in the country. Our Linebackers are as good as any in the region and they are returners and that much stronger and better this year, just like your returners.

So I think both you and I have beat this to death because no matter how skilled we both think we are at picking apart the other persons team and guessing at the outcome you never know what team will show up on Friday night. That is why they play football on the field and not on the web...Best of luck with your season.

KF I over heard Labay talking, and he stated this was the best D he has ever had. Don't under estimate Labay. He will hold talented guys on JV until junior year, even if the kids can really play as Soph. Player no one new until last year West,Moore, Youboty, Farley, and Hebert. All these guys made major impacts at the Varsity level. The same is the case this year new faces but they can ball. Just because you return a player he may be average player..as you say for CJ palmer. As most of your returning guys are average... To kF credit they have some studs, but a great track runner don't make a great football player.
To end my point I think both team will be great.. But if you think the other 3 teams in the district are gonna walk over klein, you better break out some whiskey. You will need it.:eek:

ok, you bring up a good point in keeping young players on jv rosters so they get more reps during the season till they can actually start and be major contributors. but those young guys that other coaches bring up get huge experiance, albeit not alot. so both ways of handling underclassmen work, but my prediction that westfield, klein forest, and klein oak will be ahead of klein is simply because of players coming back, senior leadership, and the players results from last season. so tell me who klein has in the secondary that can keep up with teams like klein forest and klein oak that will spread you out and utilize their speed? and i know track speed isnt everything when converting over to a football player, but kf wr jared jerkins did have 36 receptions, 550 yards, 7 touchdowns. and thats as the number 2 wr behind an all district player thats at kansas now, and this year jerkins is number 1. and with klein oak, their offense has 3 guys that run 4.3 40 yrd dashes. they will go multi-gun offense and mix up all 3 guys all over the field and i just dont think klein will the speed to match all 3 of them. and klein does NOT have the passing game to keep oppositions safeties deep. that will allow at least safety to come up and create alot of 8 man fronts. cj palmer is an average rb in this district and is no horace gibson. those are my reasons for what i did. yall should check out www.texasprepinsider.com they have alot of good articles on all the teams were talking about.

Mayweather is fast but nothing compared to the other starting cornerback Craig Palmer. He is up there with T-Rob and Desean.

This is toughest district in state. and why we went to 4 team playoff. I have seen them all play.

Oak has best offense of 4 but weakest defense.
Klein has great defensive scheme but grind it out offense
KF has best defense but offense is soso offense.
WF is WF.

I just wish Oak had played someone besides a weak TWHS this season to see how they matched up. Time willtell.
