Never seen that happen before.
We didn't do it last year vs Tyler Lee.
OO well. Congratulations Leander! Unbelieveable win.

First half was terrible. Drew had 4 ints, and Cameron Rogers was running hard. But in the 4th quarter, Drew threw only a few incompletions and we were moving the ball at will. He had 3 tds in the 4th to tie it up and an unbelievable 2 pt conversion where he found Billy Allen (Billy had 3 td's and 1 2 pt conversion  ). That was one of the better games i've ever seen, and our offense in the 4th looked unstoppable. And the way our team never gave up and kept the crowd into it in the 4th quarter was amazing. Hats off to McNeil, yall will give alot of temas problems. Week 9 is where its at, Leander vs Pflugerville at AC bible stadium. Don't let the score fool you however, this team was a completely different team in the 4th quarter, this is the team i've gotten used to seeing for the last few years. And the way Drew didnt keep his head down after throwing for 4 ints was amazing (yes 4 ints....). He finished the game with 5 td's passing and 1 rushing td and 4 ints (which is very un Drew-like because his decision making is what wins us games). Billy Allen with 3 td's, Travis Njuko with 1 td and some very key 3rd and longs, Brett Schroeder had one td, and Curenski Gilleyland had about 100 yards recieving. I'm not trying to get a big head, because if we want a long playoff run we need to play better than that, but our recieving core is where its at........At least in the Austin Area. God damn 418 yards in the game for Drew.
Never give up, never surrender....
Leander 41!!! (they made us kick the extra point, but i don't think it counted)
RR McNeil 38 (Hell of a game boys)

Congratulations Leander on your phenominal comeback. For 3 1/2 quarters McNeil dominated both sides of the ball and Leander looked like a deer in headlights. But then, with 5 minutes left, the tides turn and Leander moves the ball down field, ten yards at a time, thereby stopping the clock and scoring and suddenly McNeil can't buy a first down. I still can't believe it, a 28-0 run in less than five minutes to take the lead 35-28! McNeil ties it up as the clock runs out. Leander scores first in OT for 7 points and McNeil matches it. Then McNeil is held to a field goal, and Leander scores 7 (due to a rule change this year allowing for the PAT).
McNeil played a great game for 3 1/2 quarters! Leander's comeback was indeed phenominal, and for those that doubted, is in keeping with their top 12 ranking on this forum and as a top team in Central Texas! It's unlikely that even the Leander/Pflugerville matchup will not match the drama on this night! I am hoping to witness a  Westlake/Leander rematch in bi-district; caveat emptor  !
A tough loss for McNeil, but despite the loss, McNeil showed that they are also a force to be reckoned with in the state of Texas. Good luck to both McNeil and Leander throught the season!

Westlake/Leander rematch in bi-district
Not that it would matter to me :D , but i would trade a district championship and a 1st round matchup with Hays (that is assuming yall win district), than a 2nd place finsih in our district and a 1st round match up with you guys. I'd rather throw the wolves at Pville, because yall seem to be on a hot streak after our win over you guys. And it wasnt exactly a 28-0 run in the last 5 minutes, but it was a 21-0 run. The score was 28-7 with 7 minutes left and we managed a few three and outs and alot of plays for 10 yards or more to stop the clock and we were able to save our TO's for the last drive. If any of you attended this game, what do you think of that two point conversion, that was simply amazing.

LL3033 - It was a 21-0 run in regulation to tie at 28-28, including the amazing 2 point conversion. My mistake. A 28-0 run includes the first score in OT. Anyway, very impressive! Thank you for the correction.
I was amazed by the conversion, but truth be told, I don't have an idea how #9, as I recall, became open  . By design, or busted play? Maybe you can enlighten us on what really happened :D , unless it is secret  ....

Its a secret.............. ;)
Naw but seriously...
Straight out of Drews mouth, and i quote
"We ran the exact same play we ran on the touchdown, but just to the right side this time and when i was rolling out and looking through my progressions, everybody was locked down completely, but i was able to bye a little bit more time and Billy (#9) ran against the grain of the roll out and i was able to hit him somehow." "We got lucky on that one."
That is from the Hill Country News that is printed in the Leander Cedar Park Area.
So....... i guess that answeres your question ;) :D .

Yes, there's some luck involved. But with a comeback like that, you had to be lucky on just about every play. When you are good, motivated, and on a roll, things seems to go your way. Even on the amazing conversion, you had to control the line, have the movement of your QB to buy time, and then have the vision and to wait and then to fire the pass accurately just at the right moment! Great comeback and finish! Awesome!
